In the temple of Oghma the head priest Sage Notten was brutally slain by Brother Martin. Brother Martin was last seen fleeing the temple carrying a lead chest. Witness’s claim that Brother Martin was covered in blood agitated and muttering to himself. A reward of 500 golden lions is offered for the apprehension of Brother Martin. Brother Martin is decided as being of average build but thin, bald human male and with nervous and delicate mannerisms. Sage Notten is resting comfortably having been restored to the faithful by the grace of Oghma. The violent attack is said to have come to an absolute shock to Sage Notten and he can provide no motive to the nature or reason for the viscous assault.

Runa takes time from her tasks to make a special visit to Sage Notten and the temple.
After receiving word of her fellow Oghmanyte's recovery, she eases her worries as the faith her God would see the ole priest through easily enough.
"It seems Oghma is going to keep you around here longer, Sage Notten." She jests with a smile, "When I heard of your demise, I was about to be jealous that you would be standing before our Lord's Presence."
Hands would clasp behind her as she glances about the temple, pursing her lips,
"If Leriel has spoken to you, regarding an Amulet, It could be the first clue to perhaps why Brother Martin may have flipped his bookshelf. Lastly, If I am needed here to assist, Binder willing, I shall."

"I do thank you dearest Runa for your concern but never fear Oghma still has a use for this doddering old sage" The old scholar coughing for a moment as smile and light laughter graced his lips.
"Indeed Brother Martin research involving the amulet, was dare I say, all encompassing for him. He was smitten by the mystery of that odd bit of jewelry, fascinated by the talisman to the near exclusion of other duties. Still endeavors in scholarly pursuits are meat and drink for us all here in service to Oghma". Sage Notten paused for a moment to moisten his parched voice.
"However now that I reflect on your words there was a touch of the unnatural in the obsession Brother Martin had with that strange bit of jewelry. Perhaps the countless nights in study placed a burden on the dear brothers mind. Brother Martin was such a gentle soul and never given to violence in any form. A bookish sort one might say. It is why what transpired is somewhat difficult for me to accept. I can only pray that Brother Martin can be found before any further malicious acts blacken his fine name."

A letter is delivered to the temple sealed with the glowing emerald arcane mark of a single opened eye.
"Sage Notten,
You have my sincere condolences in these trying times. Even among the holy places of scripture and knowledge it seems we cannot escape the chaos of violence. I pray that you are recovering well.
I am ashamed to admit I have had little contact with Brother Martin in my visit to the Temple. Still I struggle to fathom one of Oghma's faithful being so outrightly despicable. I can only hope there are outside forces at work and that our Brother's spirit and soul remained untarnished in these events.
Should you have need of assistance feel free to call upon me. I know I have been lax in my visits as of late but I shall strive to make time to stop by and visit in person. I have a accumulated a few new treatises that I think would make a fine addition to the temple.
Of course should assistance be required in procuring a plucky bounty hunter to assist in finding our wayward brother I would be glad to match the temple's reward for his apprehension.
Do stay well. A mind such as yours would be forever missed.
With the utmost respect,
Meesha, Governess of the Gargoyle Citadel"

To Meesha ,Governess of he Gargoyle Citadel
The temple of Oghma is always deeply grateful for any and all donations of literary works. We also offer service in the repair and restoration of works of antiquity. Sadly Brother Martin was among our finest at this craft.
I do thank you for your touching concern and be at easy for I am making a full and speedy recovery. I pray every night for the safe apprehension of dear Brother Martin. He is was is such a fine fellow. I simply refuse to believe in the change that has come over the man. May Oghma in his grace return to us all the old Brother Martin who we knew and loved so well.
