...or at least come hang out for a few beers for a couple of hours!
Greetings Adventurers! I'm new to your server and I'm playing a Lathanderite "Sun Soul Monk" (just the order, not the PrC).
Myself and another player would like to solicit some interest in a "confederacy" of other Lathanderite characters (priests, monks, paladins, or just regular "laity") for the purposes of good role play and adventure.
My character name is "Brother Corvis" .... I am happy to be joining your family of players - this server/PW comes highly recommended.
Throw me a PM or look for my character in game this weekend (or just respond to this thread) if you're interested "confederating" a bit.
(DM's/Moderators, I apologize if this may be in the wrong forum location so please move it where it needs to go)

I would be the "and another player". My character is Tim Swift, a paladin of Lathander. We are tossing around ideas for a player run Lathander faction. Brother Corvis/Crule and myself like to have fun. Adventuring, spreading the gospel, helping those in need, or taking a moral stand against an unjust act...that is what we like to do! Plus, the more undead we smite, the better! We are real friendly and easy to approach. Chat us up!

Shana Aers is a Dawnbringer of Lathander. If you see her IG, talk to her. I'm sure she'd be interested.

Can non-Lathanderites come roleplay with you? Or is this a private club?

And for the other player - Kolfrosta, I think - no, this isn't a private club so if you would like to adventure with us, come on... but keep in mind that the IC reasons for our association is our common religious beliefs. If your're not Lathanderite, expect to be proselytized too (even if it's just gentle nudging toward our theology).

In other words, don't be surprised if we say how great Lathander is a lot, lol.
Anyone is free to come adventure, RP, congregate, et al with us. We will RP with anyone. Only followers of Lathander (or those that wish to convert) will be considered "official members", but all you get is a decoder ring, so no big deal. ;D
However, if you are like an evil character and start stealing and killing, we will probably oppose you and give you over to the Purple Dragons. We can be a little on the "goody two shoes" side.

Earned? Killing a Lathanderite priest isn't....erm..hmm... Well...I *guess* that would be one way to earn it.... ---------------------------------------------------- Sounds cool..but I won't make you guys adventure with Sharita. She'd only say bad things about Ranan the "Lathanderite priest" anyway... you know...like...THE TRUTH! ;D

Truth is such a nasty term. After all, he did go and save Isinhold with Lathlander's power, so he must be a good guy.

I play a Lathanderite cleric who doesn't really like Sharita or Ranan, so this could be awkward.

Oy! I was just playing around!
Anyway..Lydia doesn't really talk to Sharita much....so it's no big concern to her. Lydia does ramble to lots of people though..just....not to Sharita...maybe it's a female jealousy thing.
Heh..try talking to her and deciding if you don't like for who she is...not for the uniform she wears..or that metagamed class/level you see when you log on and see she's on. At least when Sharita says something..she is sincere....and she doesn't lie. If these are traits to make someone dislikable..well...she'd still die to protect you. (Should I ever be able to get back in game *sigh*)

(Should I ever be able to get back in game *sigh*) ;D Have you ever read Jane Eyre? In Jane Eyre there is a character named St. John (that's his name, he's not a canonized saint). He saves Jane's life at one point and he is a very dedicated parson at the church where he serves, and he plans to do missionary work as well, but he's also a self-righteous totalitarian in his personal life. As I read the book, I came to loathe him, and I had to keep reminding myself that he did save the main character's life and was, in general, a good person. Being a good person does not make someone likeable. At best it makes someone who would otherwise be disliked tolerable. It has nothing to do with Sharita's level or class, or that fact that she's a PDK. Granted, Lydia doesn't like paladins very much in general, but she can accept that one is not equal to another. Why do you think Lydia doesn't talk to Sharita? Because she has before and she doesn't like her personally. You don't have to talk to a person long before you know whether you like talking to them or not. Sharita is not very charming, which is surprising since she is a paladin, and they tend to have a certain charisma. From Lydia's experience, Sharita is a melancholy stick in the mud. Lydia used to like Aelrik but every time she has seen him in game over the past six months (very very rarely), he has seemed to be doing a pretty good Sharita impersonation. As for Ranan, well, Ranan offended Lydia the first time she met him and she hasn't liked him since, regardless of his religious preferences. Does it make you feel better that Lydia doesn't like Sharita to assume the fault is with me? If you want her to be liked, you need to make her likable. Until then, Lydia will tolerate her and respect her as much social norms dictate.

On a lighter note, Lydia does like Sharita more than Ranan.

hmm... well, it couldn't be worse than when Lydia and Gar first met! Lydia starting up a game of strip drinking was one hell of a first impression!
