A plain-looking gnome is seen around the Sugarsmith's bakery, trying to peek into the windows. After a short time, he casually goes in and takes a look around, closely looking at the pastries on display and briefly chatting with anyone in the shop... working a few phrases of Sylvan into the conversation, tilting his head upwards each time he does.

*He may hear the faintest of wailing cry's coming from deeper in the shop. Though audible, the whimpering cry's are nearly impossible to discern from the wind. Is it real or is it imagined?*

Unsure of what he heard, the gnome heads for a nearby stand of trees. He pulls a tome from his backpack, studies it carefully, and performs a brief ritual. After a few minutes, a brownie approaches. The gnome greets it in Sylvan.
" 'Allo, there! Name's Waldyn, and I'm thanking you kindly for answering my call. Seems I got a question on my hands, I do.
"There's a dwarf what runs a bakery in the hin town there... do you know it? Or maybe one of your kinfolk stops in now and again to do a spot of work? I know how your folk like helping out craftsmen and such.
"Seems this other dwarf told me this here dwarf is mistreating some pixies something awful. Now, most of what this other dwarf was telling is clear rubbish, and if it was anyone but a dwarf I'd dismiss it as a toddler's prank... but you know dwarves, they'd sooner give up their mines and go live in the forest with elves than develop a proper sense of humor.
"So, unlikely though it be, I'd be obliged if there's aught you can tell me about this dwarf baker here, just to set my mind at ease."

*Manus steps outside for some air and to brush flour off his hands and apron. He looks around and nods to the gnome sitting by the tree, then goes back inside*

The gnome eyes the dwarf appraisingly for a moment and then gives a friendly wave. Once the dwarf goes back inside, he goes over to where the dwarf stood, and looks to see if the flour seems to just be flour.
