This is the CTP. nwvault.ign.com/fullstory.php?id=21521It's 95Mb in size. A heads up is that CEP2 will have to be downloaded in full also, and that's a 250+ Mb download. So having said that, I don't believe downloading a large hak can be a valid argument.

I'm kinda jaded against tilesets. They take longer to load when transitioning and there is also the issue of redoing tons of areas just to make the hak worth using.

ummmmm...ok so for those of us who are not builder inclined (and who may be far into their 3rd celebratory 6 pack) what would this thingy do? make for neater looking floors?

It will make a dandy elven place from the looks of one of those screenshots. Neat caves and mountain roads as well. But... just doesn't seem worth it this late in the game.

Looks neat, yes, but... sometimes it can make for longer load times and general lag on both client and server side.
I'll be selfish and say no, for now, mostly because I still get graphics and sound lag even with the upgrades I've been doing.

I like it too, I would be willing to do it. Haks don't bother me so much as disorganized haks were you have to search and search for all the different ones a Mod has. If there is one source link on the forum where they are all linked together or grouped up in one package you can hak the crap out of the mod as far as I am concerned.
However I do like the fact that so many can come to FRC without worrying "How do I install haks and where do I get them at?" and all that jazz. This is possibly part of the whole CEP2.0 though right? Like don't come with it but is compatible sort of thing?
As far as graphics are concerned I am pretty sure it's not that much more if at all a strain then before...if the graphics are still turned down low should be about the same effect.
Anyways I vote yes

I voted yes on the grounds that it is a standard Tileset pack and it compliments the CEP. With any luck it will get the kind of acceptance that the CEP gets and will be fairly standard across servers in the future. (Not that I'm playing any other NWN servers, but I like standards.)
I really just want the equippable cloaks to work right. I hope CEP 2 gets here soon.

Yeah, but shouldn't you leave that decision to the devs? The people who actually work on the module? I don't think it's too late in the game for anything.

Hmm... well, alright if you say so Justi. I'll let you make the decision. I was only answering my opinion because he made a poll about it and asked everyone what they thought

I was only answering my opinion because he made a poll about it and asked everyone what they thought Of course you are welcome to your opinion. It really sounded to me as though you were speaking from a developers position. If you wanted to comment on the file size being 95 megs, and that it's too big... or that you just didn't like the tileset... or that you were sick of downloading stuff to play this game on FRC, those are all one thing. Stating that you think it is too late in the game for FRC and that it would entail too much work... well, that is distinctly up to me and the other builders. Just some clarity there. So turn that frown upside down Mr.

Hmm... well I've seen custom tileing on alot of things, and I know for one that having a crappy video card will affect it. It will most likely make everything you apply it to, Blank/white for me and everyone with lower-end graphics.

But being it that this is a standard, wouldn't they have tested this thing so stuff like that don't happen? They've been working on this project for over 3 years I believe, but you all do understand that this would be tested as with all things we put in the game before implementing? Ye of little faith, *breaks out the +3 Maul of Faith Installing* who's first in line?

Doesn't seem like that big a deal how the area looks. Tilesets look kind of pretty, but I like that FRC has a minimum down load of the CEP. I'll still play either way, but I'd prefer not to have my play group slowed down by loading delays and graphics difficulties, so I voted no for selfish reasons. Plus, I don't see a huge need to pretty things up in the areas. They aren't needed when you have cool monsters and an imagination.

I voted yes for one reason, simply the best looking module I have ever seen was Swords of the crescent coast. It used some very impressive tile sets along with a ton of it's own custom content. Never again have I seen such a beautiful world. I would just walk around and look at every inch of every area. I was amazed at what they had accomplished. I truly felt as if I was playing another game entirely, with 100 times better looking terrain. The only problem was that no one played there because there were about 5 separate haks you needed and one was quite large. So, a standardized tile set makes it easy to just download from one source. A good tile set drastically improves your imagination because it pulls you further into the immersion of the game.
