In early Mirtul in the Year of the Vindicated Warrior several grisly trophies may be found within the forest kingdom. On the High Road south of Greatgaunt, on the old Isinhold-Redmist Trail, and on the Low Road near to Shallybrook and again near Suzail travelers may come across a grim sight.
Upon each site a wooden stake has been driven into the ground and bound to the stakes by lengths of rope are the corpses of human men. The corpses portray evidence of violent end by magic or steel, faces locked in the grimace of death's hold.
Tied about the necks of the dead men are leaves of waxed parchment, bearing the following script in the common tongue.
Strong enough?
Cormyr is on the brink of law and chaos. It has been discovered that The Crown has let these members of the mad god infiltrate, and grow like a mold, within these lands.
This can happen no longer. We are here to bring law and order back to Cormyr. We will do what The Crown has failed to do.
We do not fail.
We can provide you salvation from this chaos. He will show you the way to strength. It is now your time to give unto Him.
To not do so will only lead to your death where then you shall serve him for eternity.
From this there is no escape. We are watching.
Serve Bane, or perish. Then in death server Him forever.
Draped across the back of each man is a flag of green and black cloth, bearing the sigil of Bane, the Dark Lord.
