*Alexandria would smirk a bit and ""hops too" as ordered to help Kathy with her bag* "Well dear lets get your things in there place and we can plot while we are waiting to sail" *Would take everything Kathy needs her to assist with. One exception being Kathy's staff of course*
*Also helps Kathy up and while doing so looks to Ahmed* "You want me to sail with the Tethys instead of this ship? I am not familiar with that captain or his crew and have little desire to sail on his ship."

"Good day Captain, if such is the case then let us make way immediately once our survivalist is found. I had tithed at the local shrine of the seafares so let's not allow that to go to waste. Watch for any signals from the Tethys and act accordingly, his skill set did not come cheaply to Valera one imagines." Ahmed would respond upon meeting Licios.
Turning to Licios once more Ahmed would quickly speak, "I want to ensure that Gardrak and the stonekin equipment are well secured and in good order, the cost alone of this voyage weighs heavily on their success. Once all are aboard then let us depart while the gods still find our efforts favorable. The ship is yours then Captain, I put my welfare in your hands.... and if I am not mistaken, the stonekin has requested of your answer."
Saluting Ahmed, Licios's response comes quickly: "Yes sir, I'll have us moving the moment last of the expedition are aboard. Meanwhile, I'll make sure that dwarves' equipment is safe for the trip."After securing his goods and equipment Gardrak would ask Licios how many air and water elementals are needed to push "The Tub"? Turning to respond to Gardrak: "Using elementals to push ship this size could cause us trouble, especially since it would greatly affect control of the ship, especially since using air elementals for wind runs a chance of them ripping our sails off if your control slips. If we run into storm, we can use water elementals to steady the ship. For now, work with Kathy to ensure we'll have favorable winds and weather for the journey." ((OOC: suggest reading "Control Weather" spell)) Turning yet again to call after Kathy: "Once you get your equipment settled, send a message to captain Blake's ship and inform them that they may be getting few extra hands aboard as per sir Albayati's orders and that we'll set sail immediately once they're aboard."Next turning to Alexial: "Send someone to see to our stragglers, I've a feeling miss Alexandria will be arguing with sir Albayati for a while about where she'll be sailing. After that, make sure dwarves' equipment is properly secured."Having given out his orders, Licios heads up to sterncastle, preparing to take the wheel and set sail as soon as they're ready. Slight, amused smirk playing on his lips, one might assume quick departure had something to do with Alexandria's disagreement with Ahmed.
((OOC: given expedition is about to set sail, player would like to take a moment to apologize for any inconsistencies with seafaring and naval practices that may appear in text, resulting due to lacking any personal experience in such, as compared to character's 6 years in thayan navy))

Once Kathy reaches the cabin she was directed to, she unpacks her bag quickly. Finding the book that contains the spell for controlling the weather. Muttering to herself more than to Alex about Thayan's and Red Wizards. As she turns around in a circle her eyes scan the room. Snapping her fingers, and softly speaking under her breath, everything appears in their proper places. A few more whispered words and a wave of her staff every nook and cranny in the room is spotless, and to her liking. A small globe of light bounces around the ceiling, casting a soft glow. "Now this is much better. I'm not going to spend any time in a dark corner on some ship. Do you wish to argue this point about what ship you're on, or should I just port both of us over to Captain Blake? I think you'll find he's a good Captain, and would enjoy being around him. I've spoke with him several times at the Imp. His stories of his adventures are funny, and as a Captain he really does care about his crew. He also has a good ear, and gives sound advice. He's helped me out of trouble a few times. You also know I can teleport back and forth between ships when I need to. This could turn into a very long trip, and you don't want to start out by making Ahmed upset with you. Not to mention if you don't follow orders you will have Licios to deal with. He takes his post very seriously, and does not see this trip as one of leisure. So go find out what you are doing, and I will pop over to Captain Blake and let him know. Kathy then speaks a few soft words and disappears.
Appearing on board the Tethys Kathy looks around for Captain Blake. Once she's found him she delivers the message from Captain Licios. "Captain Blake I have a message for you from Captian Licios. You may be getting few extra hands aboard as per sir Albayati's orders and that we'll set sail immediately once they're aboard. On a personal note. You have a really nice ship here. I hope you don't mind if I port over when we are not busy, and have some free time? I can also teleport any items over if need be while we are at sail." Kathy waits to see if Captain Blake has any messages he would like to send.

Let them signal when they're ready to go and we'll lead out or your Captain can, makes no difference. Tell himself I will stick to his midships port side as we bear away... You're welcome to come over at any point, I have plenty of room here, we're designed to travel long voyages and we're very self-sufficient, she's a clean, comfortable old girl!" He looks up at his ship affectionately. "She can be a lumbering beast on the water but she moves as if the very Hells were after her with a good wind." He tips his hat. "Thank you for the kind words and assistance, I will convey orders to the crew."

Standing on the pier, the weathered Ranger looks at the two ships. Finding an officer on Sir Albayatis ship he asks about storage space and his living arrangements. Shorlty after that he finds his way to the Tethys
Hauling a sealed barrel and a long locked trunk, Dain stops at the gangway.
"Dain Jarlin, permission to come on board!" he hollers to the nearest sailor.

He follows the sailor on board with an easy graceful tread. Stowing his things he comes on deck a short while later in clothing just adequate for the weather.
The next while he spends prowling the decks and rigging asking questions and meeting as many sailors as he can. He has a knack for not getting in the way, finding the 'quiet' spaces and moving with them.

Smiling she would nod to Captain Blake, and teleport back to "the tub".
She appears in her cabin, double checking everything before heading out to find Captain Licios. "I have a message from Captain Blake darling. He is waiting for the extra folks to arrive. Give him a signal when your ready to go. It makes no differance if you lead out, or he does. He will stick to the midships port side as we bear away." Giggling she leans in close to Licios and whispers in his ear. "Darling what is a port side? I got a book about ships on my way here, but I haven't had time go over it yet. Oh and before I forget Captain Blake said while we was at sea I could port over there sometime when we are not busy and visit. If you don't mind of course. I promise I wont just disappear, and Pane can always come get me if you need me while I'm gone. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

*Alexial would proceed to a few of the inns seeking a ranger who was hired by Ahmed as well as sizing up a few who could serve as good deckhands* *says to a few at different inns* "If your a capable sailor and looking for a bit of coin and adventure report to Captain Blake's Ship to see about work. Make it quick we depart easily within the hour"
*Not finding the ranger herself she would return to the TUB and report above actions to licios*

A bald, grizzled looking sailor criss-crossed with scars approaches the Tethys with little time to spare. It is clear from his red-rimmed eyes, dishevelled state, the twitch in his left hand and general grogginess that he had been making the most of the last of his shore leave the night before. He shouts out:
"Yarrick Seashuckle reportin' fer duty, Cap'n Blake."
If given permission to board he hauls himself on ship, perhaps his legs a little more unsteady than usual.

"Tether him if you have to!" He stands easy on the deck, watching and waiting for the signal as stragglers are rounded up and got aboard quickly. The Tethys waits.

Licios turns to look at Kathy with slight amusement: "Port side would be left side of the ship Kathy. Starboard is right side of the ship. And no, I don't mind if you hop over there on occasion, as long as you're available when needed. It seems that we've everyone aboard, so send a message to captain Blake he's free to lead out. And no teleporting like you apparently did to ask him permission to visit, just send the message. After we're few miles out of the harbor, see with Gardrak what you can do about conjuring us favorable winds, let's not antagonize our first harbor by messing with their weather. And if you see Alex complaining again at Ahmed's orders, tell her she's to follow orders or I will throw her off the ship myself and she can swim rest of the way." After that, Licios turns to call out: "Prepare to cast off! Everyone to your stations and stragglers out of the way, Tethys will lead out and we set sail right after it!" Licios moves to take the wheel, waiting for Tethys to set sail.

Kathy starts to pop over to give Captain Blake the message, and stops. Looking up at Licios with a frown. Yes Captain. She writes down the message on a sheet of parchment. Captain Blake, we are ready for you to lead out. Snaps her finger as she mutters a few words. The parchment disappears. If I see Alex I will let her know what you said. I already warned her she would be wise to follow orders. Just let me know when you're ready for me take control of the winds. I got a book that contains all the information I need to control the weather. No, I forgot it in our room. I'll be right back. *Mutters as she runs off, about this not being the way to make a good impression as the ships mage.

"There's the signal" Captain Blake nods to his first mate "Make sail! Bear away Mistress Star!"
"Aye aye, sir!"
The wheel spins, the crew move into action easily and all lines are tied off as the Tethys's huge sails catch with the leeward wind and she moves out of dock gracefully. Her bow cutting a pristine line as the Captain looks back at the Tub and signals them to follow. He stands with his officers beside him and they go back and forth, carrying orders to the midships and the rest of the crew.

A man in blue dragon scale sits near the docks watching the ships getting ready to depart. "If it weren't for the dwarfs on those ships, I could wish them an ill wind, and maybe a bit of dragons fire for their journey". "With so much trash aboard, I'm sure those ships would catch fire easily enough". "Sadly, I guess the lure of gold and jewels is just too much for those dwarfs to resist, and the company of villains wasn't enough to deter them from the voyage." "Hopefully they make it back alive, the dwarfs that is".

Noting the signal, Licios calls final orders to his crew as the Tub's (Silently cursing the people who took onto his nickname for the ship, though slightly amused that everyone accepts such deprecating name without complaint) sails are released and he steers it after Tethys. Observers would be able to tell that while clearly not as much of an expert as captain Blake, he handles the ship professionally. A man in blue dragon scale sits near the docks watching the ships getting ready to depart. Noting the blue armored man at the docks, for a moment Licios ponders why he's followed the expedition all the way to Amn just to stay behind, but brushes that though off his mind. As Amnian shores fall behind, he checks the course and sets it for their destination, as journey to Maztica begins. Once both ships are few miles out to sea, Licios turns towards Kathy: "Weather is all yours and Gardrak's. See about conjuring us some favorable winds and we'll reach our destination in no time."

Meanwhile in Marsember, Valera opens a bottle of Athkatlan Red. She leans back in a comfy chair and opens an old Calishite adventure novel titled "Sandabir the Seafarer and the Seven Horrors of the Sea"...
In Athkatla, two ships depart just as some Cowled Wizards teleport to the Docks District. From the Tub and Tethys, they can be heard talking about "unsanctioned use of magical energies", and "All involved will be held." But they arrive too late, and the ships leave for distant shores...

With plenty supplies and strong winds, the two ships make good time on their way westwards towards the Nelanthar Isles. Hundreds of rocky, uninhabited islands dot the sea to the west, and many rock and coral reefs can be spotted beneath the waves clashing against the ships' hull. At one such reef rises the remains of a foreign merchant ship, it's mast broken and tattered sails dancing wildly in the wind. A handful of ships struggles in the waves to the west, as they make their way towards one of the larger islands. As the sun begins to set and the clouds darken, lights can be seen from an island in the distance. The Port of Skaug.
// We have some random tables to keep things a bit unpredictable, which will be modified by various stats listed in my earlier post (and roleplay and other stuff, of course). Furthermore, we also have these two special rules:
Special Sea Magic Rules Teleport You cannot teleport from land to a moving ship that is out of sight (or you might end up in the middle of the ocean), but you can teleport home to Cormyr from a ship or to a previously visited location. You can teleport between moving ships at sea if they are within sight.
Create Food and Water The spell Create Food and Water creates enough food to sustain 3 humans or one horse, and can be used when out of Supplies. The crew still takes -1 Seamanship for lack of supplies, but cannot starve to death as long as they have access to this spell (not like we could force perma-death anyway).

Aboard the steady Tethys, the lookout points and calls out, that something, or someone, is sighted portside in the water. The wind and waves swallows the lookout's voice, but the word "man" is certainly heard.
Meanwhile on The Tub, the weather spell seems to be working. A strong wind from the northeast is pushing the ship forward. As strongly as the sails flutter, it seems Umberlee and Valkur are both competing to help out. Against the setting sun, a ship's silhouette is spotted to the west. It disappears beneath the waves one moment, and appears a moment later, a little closer. It is hard to see much from this distance, but it appears to be a large three masted carrack.
The island of Lantan lies a few days to the south. A few hours to the west, among the Nelanther Isles is the Port of Skaug.

Guiding "the Tub" on arcane winds, Licios checks his charts and adjusts course for Lantan, motioning to closest crewman: "Let sir Albayati know we're passing Nelanther isles, and that unless he absolutely has need for us to dock here, I suggest we keep going straight for Lantan and dock there before crossing the Trackless sea." His tone clearly indicates his opinion on the idea of staying around Nelanther isles any longer than necessary, but leaves the decision to Ahmed, given his ownership of the expedition.
Being alerted of the ship due west, he turns to call up to lookout: "Keep an eye on that ship, I want to know the moment it's close enough to identify what flag it flies!"

"Shall I prepare to toss a few delayed blast fireballs their way as a warning?" Gardrak asks. Hearing the question, Licios turns to Gardrak: "Feel free to, but do not fire anything on them without command. Skaug is major enough pirate port that I'd rather not have their corsairs harrying us for blowing up passerbys. However, if they take hostile action, you have my leave to burn them down to waterline. You may also want to prepare an air elemental to intercept any projectiles they toss our way." Jammy, the red shirted crewman, would barge into Ahmed's quarters... pausing as Ahmed slowly lowered the cup to his saucer. "Yes."

"Lantan then, as the crow flies. Have Captain Licios task Kathy with notifying Captain Blake of our intent. Should Captain Blake think worse of the idea, then I forward the call to his judgement." Having heard the crash as Jammy barged in, Licios directs him a withering glare as he returns with Ahmed's orders."Next time you need to bother owner of this ship and expedition, I suggest you knock. Atleast you're lucky that he doesn't ward his door like I did, or result could've been messy."Turning to find Kathy, if she's not nearby, Licios sends someone to fetch her."Kathy, message captain Blake. We intend to pass Nelanther isles as quickly as possible and make land at Lantan as our last port before we cross Trackless Sea to Maztica. Sir Albayati wishes to know his opinion on the matter. Also alert him of an unidentified ship due west."
