Ripping a strip of cloth from his shirt, wrapping it round his left hand and pressing it to the wound Yarrick attempts to stem the bleeding. He makes his way to the Tethys, expalinging to anyone asks that he got his wound in a tavern brawl.
"We need a small group to go searchin' fer our Cap'n he may be in trouble in the Palace district. The rest of ye", he barks to the remainding crew, "get preparing to set sail as soon as we pick up the Cap'n. Send word to the Tub to get preparing for leave too."
The Tethys' crew prepares to set sail, and signals to the Tub's crew to do the same. The Captain groans "Who by, come on Walder...damn it, he can't hear me..." He curses under his breath "...Valkur ease his passing!"
He steps back to retreat after his crewmen who are fleeing, binding a black cloth from his pocket around his forearm, taking one look at the dying half-orc before he turns away...his gaze on the approaching figures. The clockbowman at the sun mirror sends another swarm of bolts across the plaza. Most barely reach the platform, but two hit Walder, one in the stomach, another in the face. The guard controlling the sun mirror doesn't bother to turn it down towards Walder. The armored figures scare away most of the remaining combatants with buzzing lightning weapons, clearing the way to their surrounded Watchmaster. One desperate man does jump at one of the armored figures, breaking the crystal-goggles with a rock, but he's quickly electrocuted by the others. Captain Blake is free to escape the plaza, which is slick with blood and littered by bodies, some living, others dead. The black armored guards spread out to secure the plaza. Watchmaster Angalstrand stands on a knee, holding on to his broken mechanical arm. His guards keeping a close eye on him and their surroundings. The Captain lets out an exasperated grunt and walks away quickly, not looking back, holding his arm he reappears in the Docks area after kicking a stone in the street and heads for his skiff, probably just in time to meet members of his crew coming the other way.
"Sontos Tirkos...the Priceless..." He mutters, getting into the skiff. "Sontos Tirkos, a bloody trade cog my arse!"

"Arr Cap'n good te see ye." He still clutches the bloodied bandage to his neck. "Hope you don't mind me bein so bold but ordered 'em to prepare to set sail as soon as you arrived."
Sighs and takes a swig from his rum.
"We gave it our best shot sir, just..."
Shrugs as they turn back to the Tethys.

The Golden Redeemer and the Glittering Swan are still in port as well. The Tethys and Tub are ready to depart at any moment. The sun shines brightly over Semport today, and the wind is good.

He looks out, noting the Priceless has gone. "Look at that, maybe it wasn't a lie after all" He says grimly.

In a quiet hour, Captain Blake makes his way to his cabin and places his recently-purchased lanceboard in a trunk "Good to have a spare...got to protect my good one."
The Captain opens up a leather-covered chest and lays out a second set, one of remarkable hand-crafted quality. Easing off his blue coat and hat, he loosens his long hair down, pours a tankard of ruby-red wine and sits in his chair with his notebook open and quill in hand. The ship rolling and the sea battering his window, a silvery fish ornament strains in its chain tether, the Captain looks over the set as he begins to recreate a long-running game. His almond-shaped eyes slant further in thought.
"Now Mister Tailor...let's be resuming...though if you get a sending this far out, Jasper's really outdone himself."

(( This entire post is OOC. Please read for anyone participating in the trip with their characters. So. Given that trip is atm on hold (not blaming Tal, accidents happen) and people are playing their characters on the server as usual, I thought we should try to agree on something here. Namely, how to RP the trip as it stands now.
This will possibly get very confusing very fast if left unchecked. Some are RPing as if the trip hasn't happened yet. Others, like myself, clearly RP'd when the forum RP started that our characters left Cormyr. So now we're in sort of "time bubble". However, for unity of the RP on server itself, I think it would be good idea to agree on how this is portrayed by all parties, to avoid confusion.
EDIT: after talking with fisheyes, it would appear preferred approach is to maintain the "time bubble". Until forum rp is finished, none of the trip exists for participating characters, and any interaction from not participating characters should be OOCly informed to not exist.

Part 3: The Eastern Trackless Sea
Having left the Lantan port city of Semport behind, the Tub and the Tethys make good time on their voyage eastwards. The winds are strong and the sun is bright. Ahmed seems to have taken ill however, saying he must have eaten some bad shrimp soup or drank some odd tea in Semport, and now spends most of his time in his cabin.
On both the ships, the crews are still insisting that they be told about what's going on with Licios, the ghost ship and the undead parrot, and some are becoming grumpy.
It is now the fifth day since leaving Semport. A few merchant ships has been spotted, passing towards Amn, but there has been no sign of any pirates, and no Black Jewel.

"And then I was surrounded by the guards, four of 'em if there were a man, as I tried to get the Cap'n out of his pickle with the the death sunbeam..."
Yarrick regales his crewmates with stories from his shoreleave in Lantan which, as with every good seaman's tale, grow in the telling. Events become more exaggerated, the gambling became extreme high stakes and his victory a result of skill, bluff and strategy rather than just blind luck, the landlady's daughter more beautiful even evolving into multiple women as Yarrick relates his amorous exploits. The attempts to free the half-orc get more and more perilous and the hooded people watching them even shadier and mysterious.
As regards the Black Pearl and the undead parrot, Yarrick is clearly uneasy yet tries to reassure his crewmates to have faith in their Captain, "'E knows what e's doin'."
Yarrick would then move on to the next seaman, spinning his yarns of derring-do on the streets of Semport.
"And then I was surrounded by the guards, eight of 'em if there were a man..."

Yarrick would then move on to the next seaman, spinning his yarns of derring-do on the streets of Semport. "And then I was surrounded by the guards, eight of 'em if there were a man..." The crewmates speculate on Yarrick's story, some confirming the stories, others calling it hogwash, and some nodding in awe. Others tell of their own adventures ashore, how they visited real sirens, and gambled away their payment at Whalekiller's. "Those hooded figures..." says one young man, "I knew it, I bloody knew the ghost ship would follow us ashore. That's got to be it." "Ya sure 'bout that?" says another. "I heard the story 'bout the Black Jewel, an' the undead crew can never go ashore, except briefly during full moon every thirteenth year. Cursed t' sail the seas ferever they are, that's what I heard. Whoever was spyin' on us must've been someone else. I'm bettin' a hundred lions on the Harpers, 'cause ye know..." He nudges his head towards the Tub. Several sailors blurts out their own theories and bets. Some are certain that it must have been the Zhentarim, because they saw what looked like a Zhentarim wizard. "He looked shady, like a Banite, black clothes too. Obvious Zhent." An old sailors rolls his eyes and tries to reason with the younger crew members, saying that it was more likely some Amnian merchant company. Others say that the big Amnian companies wouldn't bother with such small competition anyway. Most are still eager to bet one way or the other. Meanwhile, on the Tub, Harald the cook comes swaying out on weather deck. He scratches at his throat, waves his arms, and struggles to say something. Then he falls over. He spasms, his mouth fills with bloody froth, eyes rolls back in their sockets, and his face turns purple. A crowd gathers around him.

The seamen surrounding Harald the cook explains to Ahmed that the cook has taken ill. One of them leans down over Harald, shaking him, and concludes that he is still alive. Harald suddenly gasps for air, eyes wide and red. "Don't eat the f-f-food." he says, and falls unconscious again. Some of the seaman scatter uneasily, holding their stomachs and exchanging uneasy looks. // Everyone (on both ships); roll Fortitude (in a PM).

Jula takes the wheel, and guilds The Tethys along side The Tub. Her face drawn with worry, watching as other crew members fall ill. She stops, as she goes to finish her last slice of the orange she had been eating for her morning meal. She had been on the ship long enough to know the difference between sea sickness, and what was happening on board now. As she watches another crewmen get sick on the deck, she throws the slice of orange as hard as she can. Her hand goes to mouth as she runs to the side of the ship, and gets ill in sympathy herself.
As she walks back to take the wheel of the ship, her eyes look everywhere but at anyone on board.

It is currently noon, and the situation on both ships are getting all the bloodier, apparently the illness is causing some internal bleeding. Harald the cook still breaths heavily in his cot below deck, but young deckhand Perry has passed away. The sailors explains that the crew has been food poisoned or otherwise fallen ill, at least Harald said to not eat the food. As more crew members turn sick, they discuss what they've eaten and what they haven't eaten, and conclude that most of them ate bread and oatmeal this morning, but some didn't, and some have not yet eaten today, and have still become sick.
