I figured I'd start this thread or college students only, for the times between classes, during class, anything college related. It can be just BS, or info on a class, whatever.
For me today... My campus canned the UC.. So now there is only one place to eat, and it is packed....

I think my classes this semester are going to be really hard, but really fun. Object-oriented software development, algorithms, linear algebra, and a history class on Russia from 1917-1945. So far algorithms has been the worst; the teacher doesn't seem to teach things too well.

I'm taking courses at Muskegon Community College. My major is Biomedical Electronics Technician.
I've completed Biology Anatomy and Physiology I & II as well as Medical Terminology so now, thank goodness, all I have left are my electronics and math course.

I rushed to class, only to find out that my professor was leaving because he'd been stung by hornets a few times (goodness knows why). I feel kinda bad for him, but the situation is a little ridiculous.

That's a lot of classes! Way too much medical stuff for me! That is not my strong point! Yeah, I learned a looooot, but my strengths lie in electronics... here's that I'm taking now... ELTR 111 Electronics Mathematics 102 Business and Technical Communications ELTR 101 Electronics-Basic and here's what I still have to look forward to: BUS 127 Human Relations Physical Education HE 110 Industrial Safety and Workplace Training ELTR 102A Active Devices & Circuit Analysis ELTR 112 Digital Electronics I ELTR 201A Communications (Principles & Servicing) ELTR 202A Industrial Electronic Systems ELTR 205 Electronic Circuit Design ELTR 210 Introduction to Microprocessors ELTR 211A Microcomputer Interfacing ELTR 212 Medical Instrumentation & Measurement TECH 290CI Cooperative Internship Program I have a year left. I'm halfway done

That's a lot of classes! Way too much medical stuff for me! That is not my strong point! Yeah, I learned a looooot, but my strengths lie in electronics... I have a year left. I'm halfway done i don't mind the medical classes at all, it's the ones that "round out" the BS at the university that actually annoy me. i'm 34, reasonably intelligent, with plenty of life and work experience, i don't need classes like speech, writing, (disturbingly basic) math, etc. at best they were unnecessarily long (and expensive) review for the entry test to get into the nursing program. and i envy your time-table... i pushed like hell to finish all nursing pre-req's and all (non-nursing) graduation requirements by this fall. now i still have 5 semesters till i'm done w/the nursing program... good planning. they tell you how to get in, good idea making use of it. an extra point here and there can make all the difference. that said, they most likely weigh your A&P scores most heavily (by far), so do your absolute best in those classes.

My CS professor is assigning us some ridiculous homework for the first few weeks. The problems themselves aren't hard, but the restrictions on them makes it take forever to figure out, especially since this is a new language to all of us. No mutables, no 'if' statements. Scala is now my bane(kind of):
def isIn(x:Int, l:List[Int]): Boolean = { l match { case Nil => false case h :: t => (h == x) match { case true => true case _ => isIn(x,t) } } }

My load isn't to heavy this semester. Business calculus, statistics, and managerial accounting. All business calculus seems like is a class in an online calculator....so much for getting so far inti Me-engineering to be able to do all this myself. Also, I ran into a lady this morning handing out flyers over a book some guy read....who thinks he can magically fix all of America's problems. She was pretty sketchy. -amped

I love how I have to use 3 different browsers... to view 4 different web links for 3 different classes. all of which require you to be on the internet.... damn.. I miss just carrying a ton of books and folders around sometimes.. lol.. Also Maybe before you step one foot into the door of college they should add, do you have internet access? and you reply uhh.. no.. and then they should reply.. well were sorry we cannot allow you to attend our school.. lol.. Come back when you have internet..

Anyone else starting midterms this week? I've got Linear Algebra to do today. not till the week after next, i believe. the classes aren't all structured around lecture, however, so a couple of them don't have a mid-term (at least not in the conventional sense). i'm a test person, so i tend to look forward to classes with tests and dread classes with papers due.

Anyone else starting midterms this week? I've got Linear Algebra to do today. Is that the same as parallel math? Greets Fint I have no idea what parallel math is. We're currently working on matrices, linear and matrix transformations, and the other stuff surrounding that. (I think right now we're doing dimension and rank) On another note, I think I destroyed my CS midterm. Have the other two next week. Extra credit problem: (names changed since I can't remember the exact one) def itemCounter(x:T, l:List[T]):Int = { __l match { ____case Nil => 0 ____case h::t => if (h==x) 1 + itemCounter(x,t) else itemCounter(x,t) __} Recursive and no List methods but :: ! Hah!

I was in college when I first started here. Does that count? Sure, why not? Help yourself to some coffee over there and welcome to the lounge I'm taking 3 classes this semester, but they're pretty easy so far. They're making me learn how to use my two image editors, though! I need to use them both because neither one has all the options that I want, but together they do. Two of my classes are very project heavy. Still, it's fun putting them together. Thank goodness the college has a color printer I can use for free This semester: BCOM 102 - Business and Technical Communication ELTR 101 - Electronics Basic ELTR 111 - Electronics Mathematics Next Semester: AMT 129 - Introduction to Technology ELTR 112 - Digital Electronics I ELTR 102A - Active Devices & Circuit Analysis CIS 267 ASP - Server Side Web Programming Using ASP (my elective) Edited: Added AMT 129 to next semester

Thank goodness the college has a color printer I can use for free I envy you so. My college issues student IDs that you can add money to, and they charge 10 cents per black and white page! Blah! I'm taking Calculus 1, General Biology 1, Assembly Language, Computer Organization (CSC205). One more semester and I can transfer to a 4 year university...HNNNGH
