*With neat handwritten script, a notice is put up in the Inn*
Friends,
The streams of Bramblewood are un-necessarily slippery. I am sure that I am not the only person in the realm that finds these tiny water ways more slippery and a real pain to traverse than any other stream in any other country.
Clearly this is a hazard that robbers and pick pockets make use of as they are more nimble than most it makes their escape from law abiding citizens far too easy.
To remedy this I have two plans of action:
1: Cut down a bunch of trees and make several bridges.
2: Import a lot of rocks, shale and pea pebbles and disperse them along the banks to give the banks more grip, making them easier to cross.
Now, I am no carpenter and do not know the best wood to use. There are three forests I am aware of and am happy to get wood from the Hullack or the King's Forest if they will last longer. Any advice here would be helpful.
I am also no stone mason and would follow the advice of any masons or engineers out there who know their way around the properties of rock.
In these oppressive economic times I cannot pay anyone for their time, but I will pay for all the rope and stone needed.
I'll be there this evening.
Tiberius Miller.

*a youngish elf is shown the notice and rips it down with narrowed eyes as she's explained the words better. she walks out immediately with the notice putting it into her bag*
"The world of man always out to destroy everything around them."

As the angry fellow left the area a large metalic crash and a resounding... "fooook!" can be heard echoing through the bramblewood forest.
A wolf and rabbit, startled, sprang in different directions. Some brown bear stopped a moment, wondering if the sound was thunder. An elf skipped into town not caring in the least that she heard a stream of curses fading behind.

-The young elf stalks into the bramblewood, spending more and more time there, keeping watch over the animals and woods and those traveling through it, though sometimes it's just animals watching, or a dragon wyrmling perched in a tree-

//Slightly edited logs to correct horrendous spelling and too long a post on my part - Unfortunately I did not see any posts here before doing the rp and no one was around.
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *The axe flies through the air and fails to catch the bark cleanly, the angle of the blade imperfect and not considered. The tang shoots through his wrist and elbow. Recoiling with a grimaced curse to which ever gods and local wildlife cared to hear, he none the less re-sets his feet, looks at the axe blade and aims a couple of slow practice swings before putting his back into it properly*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *His axe bites into the trunk with a satisfying sound that echoes quietly through the wood* Better... *He fights the tree for possession of the tool and sets to task fairly carefully, chopping his way into the bark and wood with slowly growing strength, pace and confidence*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *He continues hacking away with novice precision at the tree what feels like and probably is a good half an hour before the tree starts to creak and complain at the growing strain and tension being placed on the uncut side* [ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *A few more swings from the sweat streaked smith causes a loud cracking and snapping to emit from the immense natural spire the tree finally starts to topple toward the ground, parralel with the stream* TIMBER! *He bellows with a long echoed resonance.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *The detritus of the forest floor billows into the air as the tree crashes atop, cause a great plume of dust and leaves to flicker light and dark in the shafts of light that pierce the canopy above.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] Whew that's hard work! *he swipes at his brow with his forearm and flicks the hard earned droplets away with an afetrthought.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] Now... how in blazes do I go about building a bridge? *looking around he spies some branches wide enough to carry two grown men standing close beside and judges the stream's width with the branch's length.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *he hacks away, free of finesse or trained eye, making a mess of the cutting point but gets three lengths of sturdy wood long enough to span the stream one and a half times.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *Walking over to the rope he sets the axe down and picks up one of the three bundles, unravelling a good twenty feet of the fifty foot long coil and starts to lash the three round 'planks' together*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *Satisfied his over enthusiastic knotting will hold he he chops the remaining coiled rope off clean with a small hand axe then repeats the process at the other end until it too is securely bound. Straining at the weight despite his obvious strength the Vaasan import lifts the far end of the makeshift...
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] ...bridge up above his head and walks it forward, the pushing incrementally more difficult as the bridge reaches its vertical apex then with a grunt assisted heft he pushes the bridge over so it falls across the stream*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *After taking a minute to recover from his sapping feat of physical prowess he gingerly tests the makeshift bridge at first with small steps and then, as his confidence grows, with a couple of standing hops and jumps to ensure it will not snap in the middle or the ropework come undone.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] Happy the crosswalk will hold he looks around for some large boulders he can barely lift and sets them either side of the logs, wedging them so they cannot move unless something much stronger than himself wants it to.*
[ElysiumFields] Tiberius Miller: [Talk] *he then stands back, hands on his hips and admires his rough shod handy work*

A manticore starts to guard the said bridge threatening those that use it, and any that harm the woods or anything in it.

*Strolling back into the Bramblewood with a sapling under his arm, the smith sees the manticore doing whatever it is manticores do on the roughly constructed bridge. His eyes widen and considers the pros and cons of going toe to toe with a Manticore on his lonesome.*
..Sod -that-. I don't even know what -that- is.
*turns around and walks away now wondering what to do with the young tree he just bought.*
Well... that was a waste of a perfectly good tree.

*Far from Bramblewood just outside of Suzail's west gate an oak sapling is planted.*

The manticore had vanished not coming back after a long and crazy fight with many witnesses and many people entering leaving the red ravens later late last night.

The bridge is later removed, the wood vanishes, around the tree, there are roses planted and a small tree stump grows next to it. A peice of bark with writing on it lays in plain sight on the stump.
"Ask the forest next you wish for such."
// can we at least for once pick a time to get on at the same time if possible so it's not just "this is what happens nothing else would" ect? it's irratating to me at least.

//I was only doing this rp in response to Kal's request to rp making a bridge to get a bridge physically built in game so we didn't keep falling foul of the stupid high reflex check.
You guarded it with something I consider completely overpowered and I don't even know how Kavrala would be able to get a hold of Manticore to do that and then you removed the bridge. There's no reason for Tiberius to continue building bridges when stupidly powerful beasts are magically placed in his way. The forest clearly doesn't want him doing anything.
RP over, mate.
I will maybe look for another way in game to get the dc lowered or a bridge added later. right now I'm a little frustrated that my efforts to help everyone, especially low level characters have been hindered in this way.
