*submitted to Sir Callen, a parchment document written in precise, if small print.*
Eyewitness Report of Ian Glazer Concerning the Violence Resulting in the Death of Sir Callen and the Summoning of Infernal Beings Within the Walls of Isinhold.
On *date and time* I observed a person later identified as Lady Sharita, Councilwoman of Isinhold, confronting a person who proclaimed himself to be a priest of "The Vaunted." While the priest offered no physical resistance, he refused three commands by the Lady to leave Isinhold.
A person in the uniform of an Isinhold Militiaman, and later introduced as Sir Callen, confronted the pair, asked Lady Sharita if there was a problem, and after hearing the explanation, confronted the Velsharoonite. After a few exchanges, the Lady Sharita withdrew and Sir Callen continued to demand the priest leave Isinhold; his commands met similar resistance to that offered the councilwoman.
The guardsman then demanded the priest leave Isinhold, under threat of arrest should he continue to defy authority. At this time the priest cast a spell unknown to me, but which I surmise was of a protective nature. Sir Callen said, "Stop that."
Rather than comply, the priest cast a second unknown spell which had the effect of destroying the majority of Sir Callen's body.
At this time I ran between the stage and the Fletcher's shop, seeking distance from the spellcaster, who made use of an Ioun Stone, (blue,) cast two spells I identified as Destruction, though I did not see their targets, cast another spell unknown to me, then summoned via a Gate spell an infernal being.
At this point I ran behind the buildings of the Fletcher and the Healer toward the Barracks. Spying a gong I surmised to be intended to warn the village of danger, I risked striking it potentially within the view of the priest or his summons, then fled to the Temple located in the Southwestern Quadrant of Isinhold, where I informed the Druid Merriss of the pertinent events.
Thereafter, heeding Merriss' warning to avoid becoming yet another victim, I hid behind the temple while the Druid went to the aid of his fellow villagers.
From this vantage I witnessed the effects of a powerful spell of fire upon the West Gate, but did not witness it's caster nor it's target. I felt the effects of other powerful summons spells, but did not witness the summons themselves.
When a period of time elapsed in which I did not hear or see any further evidence of violence, I came back to the door of the Inn. there I witnessed many well-armed and determined adventurers under the command of Lady Sharita.
Deeming the best use of my abilities insignificant in the face of the danger presented, I entered the Inn, warned the folk within of the danger outside, and penned this missive.
A Knight entered the inn, and upon my questioning, informed me the danger had passed. I exited the inn, whereupon I espied the Lady Sharita organizing the villagers after the chaos of the attack. I sought her advice and was informed that I should submit this testimony to Sir Callen.
I hereby swear and attest the veracity of this statement, signed in the presence of Sir Callen, who has been the recipient of powerful healing spells and lies abed in the Barracks of Isinhold on *date and time*
