Citizens & Noncitizens,
A reviewing session for arcanists and scouts is being petitioned for, by myself, Swordcaptain Gorstag Redsteel of the Purple Dragons & Battle Champion to the Red Knight, to gage these talented minds' interests in serving the armed forces. We fight for a greater cause, and those in the Royal Corps of Monster Hunters are given other dynamic assignments to investigate in.
These arcanists can be Wizards, Bards, and or Sorcerers. If I forget some arcanist type, you're still invited. Scholarly sorts are welcom too - we certainly do not expect all arcanists to be skilled with a blade and shield, nor do we also expect all arcanists to be expert scholars. Spellcasters that implore the use of undead summons, in any shape or form, are not acceptable, for the Thunderstone Garrison does not condone the use of such. Spellcasters that also rely upon fiendish servants, and generally morally unacceptable summons (that may also compromise the value of strcture and stability), are equally not invited. However, if you do use a fiendish servant and have a general interest in the army, you can send word to me, anyway, so that I might investigate you, but you're still not welcomed.
"Scout" is a broad term - preferably, we seek someone with the following talents: mechanics intelligence (locks, levers, pressure plates, etc), trap maintenance (making, spotting, removing, etc), the ability to hide from a foe to investigate a region, the ability to spot a hidden enemy (such as drow or what-have-you), and if the person has bartering skills to negotiate the value of goods or appreciate the value of a good diplomatic solutions (if you can speak multiple languages, this is a good quality). Espionage talents is also an accepted tradeskill to offer, as war times demand such a tradeskill. If you have ambitions to develope your talents into these fields, an education can be provided to aid those apart of the armed forces, and we've a general interest in people with maybe 1 or 2 of the mentioned skill sets as it is.
If you're a scout/arcanist, then it seems you're well qualified.
Those interested should be prepared for a difficult series of ethical questions, regarding do's and dont's of the use of spells in certain situations, or the practice of scouting talents that others may deem of ethical and/or lawful concern. The types of these questions may get personal, and keep in mind this is a group session at first. Coming to this event consents the probability of being under a Zone of Truth or other spell of equal lie-purging machinations. Come with hoods down, weapons away, and spells unprepared on your person. Spell sequencing items are are disallowed, but familiars are welcomed to be presented (short of said familiar being of fiendish background, clearly).
All "candidates" must be able to write in Thorass. Any adventuring types must be able to present a Charter. Charter's can be bought at a host of various boarder outposts around Cormyr for 1,000 golden lions. Clearly, interested heads must be a type that do not mind taking orders from superiors, nor mind working in rigorous structured conditions.
The meeting will be held outside of the Thunderstone Garrison.
For the Crown,
Swordcaptain Gorstag Redsteel, Battlecleric Champion of the Lady of Strategies.
//Time of event: Unknown...it'll happen though
