Across the land of Cormyr and in the outlying towns a slender, chain-wearing, elvish warrior bearing the symbol of Corellon proudly on a chain at his breast bends before each message board and tacks the following parchment - written in Elvish and bearing a small drawing of a black-white mask atop two crossing Elvish blades.
//Written entirely in Elvish.
Cousins, brothers, and sisters of the People!
I hope that this message finds each of you well as you pass it by, and I write these words from my heart. You may have never met the one who pens these words on this parchment, and you may find such a greeting odd. However, though we have not met, I know you, Brother. And I know you, Sister. And I love you.
There is a great unease in this land where there should be peace. The invaders have been repelled, the demons slain, and the heroes victorious. All should be rejoicing and enjoying peace in these days so soon after tragedy has been averted. However, instead we find an even greater foe from within than the one without. There is hatred in this land, my brethren. Old allies turn their eyes upon us as enemies, and even we distrust those who've shed their blood at our side in the past.
You may not know of what I speak, but you will learn soon enough, I fear. It is for this purpose that these words find this page and the page meets your eyes. We all have fought hard for this peace, my People. Men, elves, dwarves, hin, and gnomes; we have all fought and paid for it. We have all sacrificed. We have all lost. We have all won.
Heed the words of this page, my brethren, I beg you. If you see a man, do not gaze on him with distrust and condescension - for you invite the same upon all of us! If you see any being of any race who stands for the good of this land and the people within it embrace that being as an ally - a friend. Too far we've let hatred come in separating us all, and we must stop this new foe just as we have stopped the monsters of the past! All men are not villains even as they are not all heroes, my brethren. This is similarly true for all our past allies. See you a man doing evil - any evil - then mark that man your foe and let him feel your ire, but do not punish all for the sins of one.
A time is coming, my People, when we all shall have to stand united once more. I hope that these words spur you to be prepared for that day.
Go in peace, my brother or sister, and may these words bury themselves in your heart. Corellon grant you grace in all your arts, glory in warfare, and beauty in all that you do in the name of the People.
