*shrugs* When I created Zae, I really didn't think much about that window. I simply errased the German description cause... well, no one could read it anyways. Later, I sometimes regretted not giving a description, but I'm actually glad about it. Zae came to Cormyr eleven ingame years ago, and both his demeanor and his appearance have changed a lot. Any information beyond his eyecolour and the fact that he's tattoed and bald would be wrong by now anyways, and I'd guess similiar is the case for many other chars that were played here for a few months/years. If we had a tool though that allowed us to make/change char descriptions, I'd definitly use it. P.S.: *laughs at Celith* See, that's you people with all your hair. *nod, nod* Take Zae - no hair, no elves mocking you about it!

I'll post the link one more time.. It's title is "The Benefits of a Biography" frc.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=adventurer&action=display&thread=1144230600I can't see where you can meta-game doing that. Maybe saying your character is some Zar of All-Knowing Lore, or, I guess if you read it, and then get on the game and starting RPing out all the information of another character (RPing that you know everything about that character)...but..who does that, in a community? There should be trust in a community I'm sure it may have happened before, but I dont think it's a big problem now If it is being done, then I suggest getting a DM, so they can kick the meta-gamers arse ;D Again though, a biography on the forums helps DMs know your character. For whatever future reason, the DM's could use the bio's online to either help them in a plot, or help them understand the mind/developed of the character within the community as well.

It also helps us to know things like if we send a troop of Thayan Red Wizards into a town, how many people will start twitching and run screaming like little girls... ;D

*coughs* Wizards don't run away screaming like little girls. They teleport away screaming like little girls.

Going to chime in here finally.
I really don't care if someone has a description or not, as the saying goes 'the proof is in the pudding'.
If a character is well played, they don't need a description, but yes it can add to things to see one. But, since it isn't changeable, I nearly always opt not to have one, since characters can change alot over time.
As far as my main PC, Darkharp..well...theres a very limited number of people who have ever seen his face, since he always wears a mask as part of his bardic gimmick. Those who have seen him without the mask are forever left with a lingering memory of that extremely handsome hin they saw, enough said.
