Chapter One, First Act

(The Blushing Mermaid – Tixie, Igor and Steven)

Igor: For it is a busy night you will have your ass in a hurry, Trixie. I will see no laziness and I will not stand idle by if I catch you slacking off. The patrons are here for there lips are thirsty, and you are never to forget that I pay you for pleasing my costumers. As so you will bring them ale if they request it, dance for them if they request it, and see it through that their stay at our establishment be able to live up to all expectations.

Trixie: (With a cigarette between her blood red lips, and a tray in her hands) Yes Igor. I will not dissapoint you, for I have never done so, and I never intend to do so.

Steven: (With a hand in the air) Trixie, I wish for you to come with me to my room. My stay in Baldur’s Gate is brief this time, and I will treat myself the pleasure of your dance a final time before I set sail to The Whalebones come morning.

Igor: Go with your love, Trixie. He is a paying customer, so this is no difference from any other man who wishes to see you dance.

(Trixie and Steven)

Steven: Your dance is so alluring, so full of passion. I swoon with lust when you sway your hips. But I must inform you regretfully that my trip to The Whalebones will be long, and therefor you will not see me for a full year.

Trixie: O Steven my love, the words you speak make me sad. I will miss you dearly when you are at sea, I will think of you every moment of your absence, and I will await your return with great anticipation. For I hold you very dear, and you will always have a place in my heart. Goodbye.

Steven: Goodbye my Trixie. You are the blood of my heart, and so you are my everything.

(Baldur’s Gate Docks – Trixie)

Trixie: I fear love have blinded me. I am in a haze like the one of a drunken, for I have indeed done things that are not in my right mind. I resigned my position as a waitress and entertainer o’ The Blushing Mermaid, for I wish to follow my dear Steven on his journy to sea. He sails with the Lady Tide, and I will sneak aboard now night covers the port with it’s dark blanket that blinds all humans.

Chapter One, Second Act

(Lady Tide – Trixie)

Trixie: O, what I have done. Sneaked onto the ship my lover crews on, I have. There is no turning back now, as I have slept the night in cargo and now the sun is up. With it’s illuminating and warm rays giving sight to every individual present at the dock, I would never be able to sneak back to my place of work and go on as before. I have let you down Igor, but truly lover is stronger than all, just judge by the actions it has made me carry out.

Could this be a dream? Surely it would seem likely that my longing for my loved Steven is so strong that my mind is playing with me. But everything seems so real. I can smell the salty ocean and I feel the gentle rock the waves bring upon this wooden vessel.

(Falls into sleep, untill woken by the sound of working men on deck)

Trixie: My loved Steven has always told that women are not welcome aboard no ship, for they carry with them curses at sea. I see no sense in that, for why would my mere pressence do anyone harm? Best it would be if I hid myself down here for as long as I can, I reckon. But I long for my Steven so and I wish to lay my eyes upon him again, I wish to hold him, kiss him and show him my love.

Oof! What was this? This is a new sensation to me, one that I have never experienced before. We are moving away from the docks, away from home. I can hear to sound of the busy docks slowly faiding, and the men on deck seem more active judging by the heavy foot steps. It sounds chaotic and I think they are setting sail. Yes we are leaving port and I am still aboard the ship. Surely there is no way for me to go back now. Steven told the Whalebones was the destination, and I do not even know where that is. O how will this ever work for me? I can not keep myself hidden down here for the entire trip, for I am only human and I need nutrition.

(Lady Tide – Vladimir and Steven)

Vladimir: Everyone on deck! I want to see the sail spun out wide, for there is much wind for us to catch. Rise Jolly Roger for the scout in the mast has let me know we are close to a merchant ship from Marann. It comes from rich lands and we might be looking at a vessel carrying ale and jewlery.

Steven: Aye aye Captain! We are pirates o’ the Sea o’ Sword, and as such we will board the merchant ship and take what we please with brute force and violence as our tool! We have indeed our luck with us to run into such a vessel of wealth a mere half day from Baldur’s Gate.

Vladimir: (With drawn sword) Ready yourselves men, for the ship is at starboard! Rope now! Board the merchant vessel from Amn and take what is truly ours! Force them into surrendering their gold with your swords, and slit the throats of the pigs not willing to cooperate. Ahoy-o, what a splendid day to ride the waves!

(Lady Tide – Trixie)

Trixie: O what are those dread noises I hear from the deck? Why is the sound of chaos present. Swords clash and men scream. Surely something is not going as intended, or Steven has not told me what he really does at sea.

(Trixie gets her fiddle and plays furiously, blocking out of the sound of the clashing swords and fighting men)

Chapter One, Act Three

(Lady Tide Cargo Bay – Trixie)

Trixie: The men on deck have finally settled and everything is quiet. All I can hear with my human ears is the gentle splashing of the waves against the hull of the ship. I have been down in the Cargo Bay for a whole day now, and I have had nothing to eat. Bold and stupid it might be, but I need to get on deck and find some food. Ofcourse there must be food in some of the crates down here, but all of them are nailed shut, and opening one requires tools I do not have. Now look at that ladder there. It is a passage to the deck, bathed in moonlight and caressed by the gentle breeze.

(Trixie climbs up on deck)

Trixie: O would you look at this, it is a sight to see. There is but ocean as far as the eye can see. But what is this? Looking up at the mast I see a strange flag dancing in the wind. A skull with crossed bones on a black background. Gasp! So was that what all the fighting was about? I do not see another ship, they must have sailed away from their scene of crime! O my dear Steven is a pirate! How can this be, one so sweet and gentle as him?

(Trixie sits at bow and begins crying. Steven approached from behind)

Steven: Have I had too much rum, or is that you, my love?

Trixie: Steven! (They embrace) Forgive me please. I have sneaked onto your ship to be with you, for you are the love of my life. I never want to be without you!

Steven: But Trixie, you can not have done this! The captain will be mad at me, and if he ever finds you, we are both looking at getting thrown overboard.

Trixie: But are you not at all happy to see me? I suddenly feel as if I do not know you. Are you a pirate, Steven? Why have you not told me what it truly is you do? Why do you lie to me? Suddenly I feel like I can never trust you again, and it hurts in my heart. I do not feel you love me as I love you! I am just another girl in your life, another piece of meat? I thought we had something special, but all we had was a relationship were you took advantage of my feelings towards you. I wish I had never sneaked onboard to be with you, for you have broken my heart! I want to go home!

Steven: I want you to go home too, because I will get in trouble if anyone finds you.

Trixie: All you think about is yourself. You pig!

(Trixie bursts out in tears and runs back to the cargo area)

Steven: Yes Trixie, stay down there. I will bring you food and water everyday. Be quiet and quick on your toes for the chef might wander the area to find what he is took cook.

(Trixie sits amongst the crates and cries the whole night)
