Left upon various board inns and along trees near the roads between Isinhold, Redmist, and Suzail are notes written in large letters. Some of them read differently saying:
Zhentarim allow for slavery! Down with the Zhentarim!
or
Vampires Suck! We are cattle to them!
or
Bane has bad breath! Do not believe the stench of his words!
There is nothing else on these notes to signify that they were made by any specific person or even any group of persons.

Posted on some trees about the outskirts of Redmist:
Pluck a rose What fun, what fun Black as the sun Undone, undone
Red is the night Do tell, do tell To rule all the hells So well, so well
Bleed the town dry What shame, what shame All up in flame they came, they came
Heed the words well, all ye who seek best And follow to cave, first north and then west
Below this is a drawing of a black rose marked out with a purple X.

Written calmly and concisely upon parchments distributed once again through Redmist and a few through Isinhold.
Ware who you would invite into your home. Even the smiling friendly man may be a brigand in disguise.
Already further and further control of Isinhold slips. Now a suggestion for Redmist to strike out on their own, separating control from the Crown, comes into the mix. This is exactly as those of the Zhentirim and Black Hand would want! Further tyranny and fear will spread if this should come to pass.
Wake and rise people of Isinhold, people of Redmist! Wake ye of the Purple and stop your idleness! The Black Rose festers here unchallenged!
Ye in the shadows, your freedom is at stake! Should the Zhentirim and Hand succeed do you think yourself safe? What gains you have will be cut! What whispers you speak they will kill you to hear! Under Crown you have freedom, under Hand you will not!
Do not lose to fear and despair! Hope exists if you let it!
The symbol of a foxes head painted in gray is affixed at the bottom.
