Nothing is ever perfect though.
Because of this, and if anyone ever has any suggestions regarding the forums in terms of design/layout and/or what could be added or removed, then please let me know by PMing me =) Or speaking to me within the chatroom! |

He has, and will, put adventurers through a gauntlet of his fashion to test their stamina and willpower. Adventurers whom have tested their might agaisnt Donk have found themselves at a loss each time, though the one (or group of people) to defeat Donk himself...will likely acquire a suitable reward.

Plots/Rumors:
An adventuring group managed to help out the Purple Dragon Outpost just north of Redmist with a beholder incident. Rumor has it that it was Mouse, Rigrin, Roshnak, Lance, and Ailren - all acting cooperatively with one another to help the outpost out. Confusion comes into play amongst many commoners, bards, and inn/tavern owners when they hear the tail, followed by a description of the heros; which is that of Jake Jarcy, a small hooded-hin that speaks softly and may infact be Mouse, Vunak, Calad, and Clarke. Because of this, the 9 listed names and the hooded-figure who speaks softly, which some think may truly be Mouse, are nonetheless all thanked with a nod and smile by some of Cormyr's denizens, within the streets.
Likely this will not last long within the lands, as time is ever changing things. Which in respect to such...
Weeks after the Outpost incident, some humans without eyes, acting like priests but offering no blessings, have been spotted within the busy streets of Cormyr, preaching of a new era; a new power in the realms, that should be heeded and respected. These Eyeless-ones seem to have stirred up quite the commotion within the temples of Torm and Helm, as well as causing some discomfort amongst the people of Suzail.
The Eyeles Ones encourage that, to be free of sins, one must first remove the eyes, as a sacrifice to the new power that is rising. Only by being blind can one truly understand the actual truth! Supplicants are encouarged to cast down their current beliefs, for they are false, and truly have weak souls if they do not understand the way of the Eyeless ones.
Some denizens heed the words. Many disappear and infact do come back as Eyeless followers now. Some denizens however, once they disappear, they remain as such.

Plots/Rumors:
Recently, a group of brave adventurers have handled a sizeable group of orcs just west of Immersea. A description of the following is given, but no names:
Lucious, Roshnak, Zenobia, Alev, Vadurea
Rumor has it that this same group of people even managed to defeat a red dragon, but to only be repelled by a more ferocious wyrm.
The Lord of Culspiir is grateful for the assistance, as the orc hoard would have surely tryed to enter within the city. The dragon seemed to have caused them to flee their territory at the time.
What's more disturbing now though, is that the King's Forest is riddled with ravaged orc bodies, whose corpses have large talon-sized gashes. Large enough to compare to a dragon's talons. Fragments of amethyst crystals can be seen about the ground as well at times. Royal Scouts of the Purple Dragons report, and warn travelers, to be careful while in the Kings Forest.
War Wizards speculate amongst themselves that there seems to be a gem-dragon on the loose.

Plots/Rumors:
The town of Waymoot has been besieged by a gem dragon, now officially identified to be an Amethyst Gem Dragon, on a few rare occasions. The dragon has been seen pass over both Espar and Dhedluk as well, but attacking neither directly yet.
The few unfortunate caravans to pass through the King's Forest have been swiped by this gem dragon. Some adventurer's have experienced its feriocity on a few random occasions. The dragon burrows underground to escape as well, or flys away at times. Massive holes are left after a battle/encounter, which seem to magically seal itself in due time. Orcs are also being harrassed by the dragon.
Admist it all, little Forest Gnomes have started to make more public appearances within the town of Espar, warning travelers of the "Great protector gone angry, whose red friend was slain." Whereas near Immersea, Forest Gnomes there claim, "Beware the angry amethyst gem, whose aged-self has caused madness"
Much confusion can be felt throughout the various named towns and cities about the situation. Purple Dragons still warn travelers when they can, about the threat lurking within the King's Forest.

Plots/Rumors
"Hear ye! Hear ye!
I saw it! The mighty and fabled Purple Dragon of the Forest Kingdom! It took flight high into the air, heading to some unknown direction! In its wake, with its magical and ancient skills, the Purple Dragon sprouted a massive oak tree within the King's Forest! Its magics alone helped restored the King's Forest!
We should be pay our respects to the mighty Purple One, who...eh, who protects our lands! The Gods have mercy on ye all, who are foolish enough to disbelieve my words!"
- Heard from a random Heckler in the streets of Immersea.
The amethyst gem dragon who had been causing distress within the King's Forest and nearby villages has finally be stopped. Madness seemed to plague the creatures mind, but likely none shall know this: only the adventurer's who managed to overcome the mighty dragon shall.
It was seen flying away from the King's Forest, to indeed an unknown destination, though likely the dragon had nothing-to-do with the event that took place afterword. Through divine intervention no doubt, a massive and powerful oak tree sprouted out of the King's Forest, rising miles and miles high up into the sky, whose branches seemed to reach out for miles as well. One could swear it covered the entire length of the King's Forest.
What was once crumbling lands, due to tunnels below the surface made by the burrowing gem dragon, were all restored. Rained poured-down meanwhile, but scholar's speculate that this was no natural rain by any means; but water dropping from the actual leaves of the tree, appearing to be like rain. Clouds gathered to try to conceal this secret. And in due time, the lands of the King's Forest was restored to full health...

Plots/Rumors
Within the northern lands of the Bramblewood forest, corruption can be felt. Nature cries out in agony. Heavy decay can be seen within the northern lands; tree leaves are withering away slowly, the soil is becoming tainted, the waters are heavily poisoned, and the grass turning a dead-black color.
All animal activity has vanished within the northern parts of the Bramblewood, while the plant life there seems to have succumb to some sort of virulent toxin. Several druids, in the company of Merriss, can be seen at times roaming the forest, fighting off a small amount of undead fey that seem to be forming in a once peaceful spot.
Adventurers who have looked into the problem have made their way out to the Thayan Enclave, having found a single clue that pointed them out in that direction; a red wizard's body. Thay has denied access to them though, as one within the group foolishly tried to sneak past the guards while discussions were being made between the adventurers and guards, concerning the presence of a "grand inquisitor" being within the enclaves walls.
Due to that adventurer's actions, alarms went off in immediate suspicion, and the enclaves defenses have intensified. Who is so important that is within the walls, and can the Thayans there truly help? Whatever the case may be, the gates to the Enclave remain locked, and admittance is strict.
Meanwhile, Merriss tends to the intoxicated-land that is north of the Bramblewood, and is now rarely seen within Isinhold. When spotted, the druid of Silvanus seems tired and fatigued...even sick. Likely the toxins of the lands spread within him and the other druids, while he tries to nurture the lands back to health and fight the occasional undead fey with the other druids at times, though this seems futile for the time being.

Plots/Rumors
Adventurer's were seen entering within the Thayan Enclave, after a second attempt with negotiations to enter. The Enclave is still heavily enforced with armed warriors and Thayan red wizards, all being present at the gate. The Inquisitor (along with his many guards) within the enclave has made a brief public appearance, and has been seen by some of the adventurers too. Unknown to them and everyone else but the Red Wizards likely, the Inquisitor is the malicious Szass Tam.
Szass Tam showed subtle interest within the poisioning of the lands, north of the Bramblewood. Words were exchanged between Szass Tam and a Red Wizard at the Standing Stone Inn, concerning an investigation within the Northern parts of the Bramblewood forest.
Adventurer's who had been investigating the poisoning of the lands finally got a big break in their work, and after Szass Tam withdrew to his quarters, the Red Wizard approached the group to offer them a proposal. Now the adventurer's are taking their time are discussing the situation. Clearly someone important needs something done; what are the benefits and what are the risks?

Plots/Rumors:
Rumors circulate the air within the Enclave's walls about adventurers who managed to solve the mystery behind the poisoning of the lands north of the Bramblewood forest. A furious battle had taken place between an unknown source, two merchant hins, and an elf, in where a spell had devastated most of the poisoned lands within the Bramblewood Forest. After the battle, a powerful horn blast was heard throughout the Western Reaches and the Enclave, followed by a series of severe earthquakes and heavy rainfall above and below the Bramblewood Forest. After an hour of this display, the northern lands of the Bramblewood Forest were cured.
Merriss and his druids are quickly returning to full health again, and sylvan folk within the Bramblewood forest can be heard chanting their praise to Silvanus and other nature deities.
With the forest matter resolved, the forces within Proskur's Enclave are seen gradually fading away, and the infamous Szass Tam departs for the time being. His visit was a long one, and Tam left quite a few instructions for the thriving Enclave.
The matter is far from over, however, and the Enclave has their attentions turned to the cause of the source of poisoning; a group of renegade Red Wizards.

Plots/Rumors:
Marsember is said to be plague infested! All denizens are kept within its gates and travelers are bared out, while boats are not permitted to port-in, and are quickly made to seek Suzail. Suzail’s docks flood with incoming ships, and new riots increase there as thugs and muggers find themselves at each others throats for the overflowing goods, finding this a great time to pillage and steal.
Rumors circulate about the nation of Cormyr that the plague is already gone, but the Crown is merely trying to keep the offender within Marsember until apprehended. Others say that the plague has gotten worse and that the Crown doesn’t want to reveal the horrors of its destruction, and fear it escaping into other cities. One thing is for sure, the Dragonners have stepped up to patrol the streets more, and the occasional sounds of combat can be heard, following grueling gurgles of the undead.
Several developed students within Alizarin’s Academy can be seen within the streets, magically defending the building when any undead approach, if any. They are forced to offer quarter to those who appear healthy. Starwater Keep shelters the healthy as well, and it is said that some people are ported out of the docks in the night by desperate loved ones to get their family members over to Suzail’s Healers House.
Following this outburst, a skull manifested itself within the night sky of Marsember, revealing a wide grin and eyes that gleamed red in glee, before the head turned back with laughter heard as it faded.
Meanwhile…
Off in other lands…an island within the Dragonmere, off the coast of Redmist, suffers an increase of powerful undead. Anything from demilichs to even alhoons; these creatures appear to be controlled by one individual. Is the happening within the Dragonmere a coincidence? The minister of tourism on the island refuses to speak, merely stating that a group of adventurers have already been causing enough of a mess and he wants no part in it, and only offering to pilot his ship to and from the island.

A dream, from the divine one can infer, enters the minds of all clergy men and women within the lands of Abir-Toril, and those with links to the divine…A man soars in the air with a black blade in hand, a cruel and twisted smile on his face, while the look in his eyes seem hallow and mindless. He stops over a city, aims the blade upon it, and in a white hot flash of light, followed by a mushroom plum of smoke in the air, the city is laid to waist. The man continues onward to other cities. Each one he destroys the blade pulses a vile glow even more. What would be considered ground zero by some, quickly turns into a cesspit of demons of all shapes and sizes. The man destroys, but it is soon followed through with some form of creation. You begin to wonder if these are visions of things to come, or things that have already been. A familiar voice can soon be heard within your mind…“Trust not in the Destroyer, He who seeks to challenge your Sire.”============================================================================ A scene unfolds elsewhere in the expanse of time, unknown to the denizens of Abir-Toril“You’ll fail! You’ll crumble into ashes! And know, Destroyer, that I plan on taking every last surviving soldier of yours!,” barked and laughed Demogorgon in mad laughter as he teleported away from the rude and impromptu "meeting". Zy’lu scowled and roared heavily in anger before turning back to his minion, Arkreneos, that was tied up and being tortured for his recent failures. If Arkreneos could even be tortured anymore, that is. After his battle with the Mother of All Magic herself, not much was left him, nor any sense of feeling. Zy’lu had been gracious enough to piece together a new body for Arkreneos, so that his plans would continue on. Zy’lu shocked the mage awake with a wand, “Wake up! Did you at bloody least kill the remaining Servant?!” Arkreneos grunted, doing his best to open up his nearly sealed eyes to look at his master, “N..no, however, my Master, a golden dragon’s corpse awaits you…” The Demon Lord silenced him with the lift of his big hand. Zy’lukazi’kran seemed pleased at the news and he quickly made his way over to where the other dragon corpses were. A malicious grin formed over his face before he went back to his minion, commanding other servants to release him. “Go forth now, and continue on with the plan. The new General will be ready by the time the fools attempt to release Her. I‘ll have my revenge in both irony and blood!”

Plots/Rumors:
Within the training fields of the Royal Corps of Monster Hunters, in Thunderstone, foreign soldiers can be seen marching and practicing their swordsmanship. Wizards and priests may be spotted too.
The soldiers bare the emblem of Waterdeep; the numbers ranging around 200-plus strongmen. The wizards and priests too difficult to count amongst the large mix of Waterdhavian soldiers. The wizards bare emblems from distant southern lands, that of Halruaa, while the priests bare symbols of Impiltur.
They seem to have been sent here, likely as reinforcements for something big that is brewing. They are more-or-less friendly with visitors that may inquire about their origins, but remain very discreet as to their purpose here; they only like to mention they are here to help aid Cormyr. When in training, visitors are asked to leave, so that there wouldn't be distractions.
As the rain falls over Cormyr, the air and water feel colder than usual as the season changes, and that rainfall soon becomes snow. Auril's icecold breath not to be forgotten, even in times of impending doom and turmoil. There is a certain level of beauty about it though; the white-coated trees and rooftops - perfectly fresh canvas' for blood to be spilt over, for a new picture.
"Oi! I tell it like it -is-! Swears it, I do! The Open Lord of Waterdeep, Lord Piergeiron the Paladinson, will be makin' a public appearance himself. 'Ere in Cormyr, soon! This sure to be an omen o' some sort. Ya seen them soldiers up there in Thunderstone? Ya can't tell me somethin' ain't happenin' to our lands! Some whisper that we're surrendin' to foreign powers! Can ya believe it?! Me? I says it has somethin' to do with that there new bounty available out there", speak out Town Criers throughout the lands of Cormyr.

Plots/Rumors:
The plague that hit Marsember had shifted itself over to Suzail and even Shallybrook. Suzail suffered two aerial attacks from Dracolichs at one point, but both were repelled by the War Wizard tower. In secret, the infant heir to the Obarskyr thrown had been transported away to saftey from the city. It is said that the dracolichs were sent by someone.
The plague's origins were odd. It came within the night and then disappeared on the same night roughly, only leaving behind various forms of undead in its wake. Adventurers fought and repelled them with the city guard and Dragoneers.
Little is known as to how it happened except a handful of adventurers: the truth being that the plague was caused by an item within a groups possession. Where the item went, so did the plague. Of course this secret is kept amongst those who carried the item or whom they may have told.
The three cities had recovered though as the item, Clockwork Reverse, was moved out of their range.
Far away near Redmist and Shallybrook however, things began to develope differently. Two spellcasters began to contend over Clockwork, initiating in a heavy spellduel that lasted for about an hour or so, causing the lands near the Mistwood to be burnt to the ground, and the impact of spells causing the Dragonner outpost to be laid to waste. The northern walls to Redmist's city were turned to rubble too, from an explosion. The show finished high up in the air as the two figures flew up to continue their spell battle, and then in the end one emerged a victor. The mushroom cloud in the air was but a remnant offering from the victor of the spellduel, and the impact of the explosion caused much of Cormyr's lands to tremble under its might, but the mistwood forest suffered heavy damage, burning in many places because of the battles aftermath.
This did not last long however. As time went on the tree's began to regrow, magically, as well as the Dragoneer outpost and Redmist's northern wall began being fixed good as new. One ranger even reported that a prey he was stalking could not die until it scampered out of the Mistwood forest. When decay and disease were a problem, now overgrowth and over development soon became an issue within the Mistwood forest, as life sparked at its maximum and beyond. Clockwork Reverses' other function began to take effect within the forest, somehow.
Adventurers' holding Clockwork continued to feverously put this item to rest, hoping and praying for some type of break. Then as dawn approached, a lone figure rose to the sky out of Shallybrook, and with it a boulder the size of Suzail's own palace above his head: he was transporting an object. To many now, this lone figure was identified as Conrad, a fabled half-dragon gold who would eventually sacrifice his mental sanity and life for the good of people.
The object in Conrad's possession eventually was dropped in the Mistwood forest, and promptly afterward life in the woods began to return to normal. Over growth stopped, and no more signs of disease were spotted anywhere. Meanwhile greatful halflings in Shallybrook knew a period of heavy prospertiy as their famous apples grew to large sizes. They thank Conrad for this, for whatever it was he did.
The rest of the story goes that a different group of adventurers eventually sought Conrad out, having heard rumors he was in a cave near Shallybrook, only to find him dieing and on the brink of insanity. They found a way to help him; through a contact found within the Hullack Forest, one which opposes Arkreneos. The being had been spotted flying from the Hullack to Shallybrook at speeds which broke the sound barrier itself, acquring something from Conrad which was likely Clockwork Reverse.
In the end the item left the Prime Material Plane through the hands of this being, and Conrad driven insane. The adventurers apart of the battle between Conrad and this individual know the details of why Conrad was driven crazy. They morn his loss now.

Plots/Rumors: In the days to come, Cormyr is to experience small earth tremors throughout its lands. The Stormhorns and Stonelands feel the worst of it, causing heavy snow and rock-based avalanches throughout many of the mountains. The wintry season seems exceptionally bitter during the days ahead, and the skies hold an eerie darkness to it at times. As these occurrences begin, a particular Cormyrean War Wizard out of Thunderstone's barracks takes to the sky on a Netherese flying disk, heading far up into the air just above the Hullack Forest. There he meets two figures: a man with silver wings, and a feminine figure that sits on a staff. The three bolt off with their magics towards the Stormhorns and Stonelands, likely to make their thorough investigations. Sages claim that the time is nearing, and Cormyr is still the chosen nation to be the main front of a brewing global war. Nations throughout Faerun have adopted the name, "Silver Rush" for this particular military campaign, many of them expecting the worst after discovering their own rumors and secrets. Secrets concerning forces of the madman, and how he'll be attacking their precious homes. Cormyr maintains its allied soldiers still though: Waterdeep, Impiltur, and Halruaa - these nations having dealt with some form of trouble from Arkreneos already. Many soldiers look eager to battle, while others look worried; unsure if their skills are adequate. They patiently await the commanding point of their superiors to be directed to the right spot. The strangest of rumors circulate about the lands concerning Chult. Rumors which concern ironwood constructs causing particular problems for its natives, killing them without any mercy. Is this apart of Arkreneos' work, or is there some crazed gnome on the loose? " Oi! I tell it like it is! I cannot even lie, I swears it! Lord Piergeiron to make his appearance at the Drowning Flagon on the 30th of Hammer! He be talkin' about the recent tidings so we common folk know what's happening, hey!", claim town criers. //Janurary 30th will be when the Open Lord makes his appearance. The time is set to be held at three different times in the day (to try and accommodate for peoples play times): 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, & 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM...I do not plan on rescheduling this either. This is all EST. If you can't make it then don't sweat it too much // |

The morning dew was just settling down upon the few gardens left, or repaired, within Arabel. The sting of its previous sacked state still could be seen throughout parts of the city as debris coated the cobblestones here and there. Today felt like a lucky day though for many, as the early birds made their way out of their homes to begin setting up shop. It was merely 4 bell tolls into the early morning; the sun wasn’t even yet out, and the skies seemed clear for once. Two wagons can be spotted outside of Oghma’s temple within Arabel, with a grateful priest directing Alizarin students to load precious volumes of lore into the wagons. One is bound for Marsember and the other for Suzail. The priest carries a relaxed yet pained look on his face as he works with the eager students. A better time couldn’t have been picked to disrupt the cities rest and peace though, as up in the sky, far off in the distance a black figure began to approach. No one noticed this at first as it was too far away; this slowly creeping doom. Its wings flapped heavily in the early morning air, approaching Arabel from the north. One Purple Dragon Scout did take note, but he gave it no heed - thinking it was just some dream in his half-conscious state of rest and duty. Helm would later show his displeasure to the Scout. As it neared even more, the denizens of Arabel that took note began to grow weary as it began to take the outline of a dragon. One man sat on this dragon, his mount, who cast his gaze out to Arabel. Gears turned and ticked in his body while pumps and other machinations sustained him in some twisted manner. He held onto the reigns expertly as the beasts wings thundered in the air. He’d smile if he had the lips to do so with. The dragon’s closing form soon had its appearance identified by a pact of War Wizards. Following their revelation they were stunned, discovering the dragon to be an Abyssal Drake that Arkreneos was using as a war mount. That’s when the drake made a barrel-roll in the air and began spiraling down towards Arabel, spreading panic amongst the few who were awake. The city alarms went off and all of Arabel awoke to witness the madman’s arrival on this beast who caused many to demoralize with its frightful presence. Arkreneos merely smirked and commanded the beast back up into the air, away from the city some more as the few Purple Dragon’s that were on duty began to prepare their ranged weapons. Lazily he raised a hand up into the air while the beast circle-back to a pact of Dragonneer’s and from his hand did magic spew fourth in the form of missiles, shooting down to the soldiers to inflict harm on a few, and even death on some. War Wizards fired their spells back which he either simply absorbed with shields or deflected right back at them before heading back north. The lingering effects of the drake remained for a good while in Arabel, as well as the sound of its terrifying, deep roar. The Purple Dragon’s quickly began to mobilize and prepare themselves, sending word far across Cormyr of the sighting, and requesting Piergeiron’s men to be sent to Arabel first. Battle for Castle Crag & Arabel: Wound Re-Opening Following Piergeiron’s speech, Cormyr was quick to prepare for war, as well as several other nations. Those within Thunderstone’s garrison had long been preparing for this particular event, along with Piergeiron’s men there, Halruaa’s spellcasters, and Impiltur’s priests. All of which whose nations had experienced some scuffle with the mad man. But are the numbers enough, and was the preparation substantial? Military analysts don’t seem to think so. “Cormyr is not prepared for an assault on this scale. We…seek enemies as allies once more, like during the Tuigan Hoard, to fight a common foe here on Faerun,” claims the Steel Regent herself during a brief public appearance. Angry merchants begin to pack up their goods to move from major cities, dissatisfied at the lack of assurance, and start to make their way to the ports to sail away to other nations. But with Faerun under risk, just where could they really go that would make a difference, and who could blame the Crown fully? Adventurer’s had been doing a fine job at closing crucial portals that the mad man had secretly been operating to gate in pieces of his army, but apparently this wasn‘t enough. Mere preliminaries, but were it not for adventurers intervening, this war may have turned out to be a lot uglier than what most strategists could fathom. Lord Piergeiron’s speech has since been made into written text and plastered about many parts of Faerun, across major cities: “I would like to thank everyone here this day, for coming to listen to me speak. I know there must be many questions; some of which I shall happily answer as able. I intend on bringing up specific concerns regarding recent events on an infamous, dangerous madman which has not only be causing Cormyr trouble, but most of Faerun.
As a formal introduction; I am Piergeiron the Paladinson of Tyr, the Open Lord of Waterdeep. I have come to Cormyr with many men to help aid it in a war to come.
To begin, I shall shed a little insight on this madman, who goes by the name of Arkreneos Daevreon.
He strives to complete a project of his. A weapon design, to be used to kill most anything within its path. His intent is not world destruction, merely world domination. In his wake he seeks to upraise demons for a greater master.
The madman is not a lich either, as there have been numerous rumors regarding this. In truth, he is more construct than anything else. He is as old as Netheril, and the ravages of time have settled into his mind no doubt, causing a form of mental instability.
As I speak right now war is being waged upon the Island nation of Evermeet by his forces, a naval strife.
The Moonsea is presently under his sufferance.
Eastern nations, such as Rashemen and Thesk are currently under pressure from armed forces of his.
Cormyr is the chosen battlefield for the main fight, which large it will be. I am sorry to bare this bad news, but we've a count of orcs and demons under Arkreneos' care that plan on coming here. The number well ranges over 200,000 strong.
Those numbers fully plan on marching on Cormyr in the days ahead, and the Dragonners are preparing, along with other allies of all shapes and sizes. As it might be known, we have dubbed this military campaign as Silver Rush, for it recognizes the Silver Dragon that the madman hunts.
This isn't really an army with free-will...Unfortunate that those he commands are all enslaved for the most part, his orcs. He tosses his men aside as if they were nothing, essentially committing a genocide of a sort with the orcs. No one deserves such a treatment. He steals them from other planes too, gating them in for his twisted ideas and stripping them of their homes.
It is also prudent to understand that no one should actively seek to fulfill the madman's bounty. At this stage, it will most certainly be declared as an act of war against the Crown of Cormyr and well, our Toril.
But the battle wont end here on our beloved home grounds though. There is this man's master to consider, and the location of his whereabouts, which is the Abyss.
I will say that there will be many pleased nations; should volunteer's step up to undergo a mission in the not-so-distant future, to take the battle to the source.
Toril needs daring adventurers to undergo the journey, and its strongest.
There is the understood risk of a no-return, but we pray to the gods that everything works correctly.” |
Common questions asked during the speeches which are attached to the printed speech: Question: What issue does the master have with Cormyr? Answer: The madman's master seems to have a deep-rooted grudge against Cormyr and her people, thus, choosing Cormyr to unleash his ire.
Question: How can I sign up and volunteer? Will I be chosen immediately? Answer: Those who sign up will not necessarily be chosen to undergo the journey, but one may do so at the Cormyrean War Wizard tower.
Question: What of the Silver Dragon’s whereabouts? Answer: For better or for worse, no one is aware of the Dragon’s whereabouts.
(Hecklers claim that it’s already dead!)
Question: Are there any nations currently aiding Arkreneos? Answer: Presently it is speculated that no nation helps him, but this doesn’t mean uprising cultists aren’t forming to do so. |
Arabel isn’t the only city preparing however. The Hullack Cormyrean Wardens along with a particular settlement within it begin to merge forces together. Remnant Evermetian archers and swordsmen from a past scuffle, while few, are spotted within the number as well and begin to form a barricade on the western road’s of the Hullack Forest. The numbers are met with men out of Thunderstone too. As the madman’s forces descend out of the Stonelands, it’s noted and understood by Cormyr that his army of 200,000 have split-up into 3 parts. One of which descends upon Arabel, another of which marches through the Stormhorns with an unknown destination in mind, and the third portion pushing themselves through the Farsea Marshes and usurping anything they can to join the numbers or die, with an equal unknown destination in mind. The rest of Cormyr’s cities readily gear up and arm for war, anticipating the worst. News from across the realm does eventually reach Cormyr with regards to other nations, and their current status. Thesk and Rashemen are being hammered hard by Arkreneos’ forces; his men attempting to seize complete access of the Golden Way, a road from Thesk to Rashmen that also extends into the Endless Wastes and further east of Faerun. Thay and Aglarond provide aid though, sending their numbers to do battle with the opposing force which is rumored to be twice the size of what Cormyr is experiencing currently. The Moonsea itself has completly been conquered by the madman's forces. Vaasa and Damara, along elves from Cormanthor's forest and Dalesmen, do their best to free Moonsea of its conquered state despite past difficulties. The nations aiding fully know that they'd only be next if they don't ban together to aid now and wash the Moonsea of this problem. Elsewhere in Faerun, the Jungles of Chult appear to still be experiencing large amounts of fires and many of the natives are being slaughtered. Heavy constructs are to blame, and certain factions make it a silent point to investigate in these activities even more. And last but not least, Evermeet is caught within a naval strife that's turning to be in favor of the island nation. ((THIS BATTLE TO BE HELD ON FRC'S MAIN MODULE. Schdueled date is Feb. 28st, 7 AM EST.)) |

An argument unfolds between certain head figures… “Don’t let High Horn fall. It was painful enough to have to ‘sacrifice’ Arabel, but we cannot afford High Horn.”“And I say Arabel would have never fallen! So what if Tethoril’s prediction was true, about that damn drake!? If the Wardens were there along with Thunderstone’s men at full-force, this never would have happened!”“That drake slew hill giants in a matter of seconds and devoured countless amounts of Waterdhavian soldiers…Do you truly think that feeding the beast more, under terrain it had advantage on, would have been any better? Tethoril saved many lives!”A large man barges into the room, disrupting the argument… “Ah-HA! Heh heh…I heard the news…Poor, oh poor Arabel…Sacked once more. What will be left of it this time I wonder? Ashes? I blame it on the fact that Cormyr…lacks...!”“Watch your mouth! Or…”“…Or what?! You think you can…”“Gentleman and ladies please!…We must proceed with other things that are important, which is High Horn, and not point any fingers. Right now the defenses are solid, but not good enough. These golems that are being tossed into the fray prove to be highly dangerous. The Blackstaff has predicted that we’ve yet to even combat the maker of these things, or the toughest of the golems. And what‘s the news on the Skyship Division?”Battle for High Horn: History in the Making Hundreds and thousands of brave Purple Dragon’s and adventurers fought fiercely for Arabel’s defense. Reinforcements were too late to reach Castle Crag, the fortress ended up being sacked during the scuffle. The counter-efforts were amazing, and the persistence of the enemy relentless. There came a point during the battle when the heavy artillery of the enemy was brought out - constructs; which were rigged with heavy magics, followed by scores of demons to cause more distress. Despite the odds though, adventurers and Dragonners pressed on, and fought gallantly. There came a point where supplies were low, and, during the regrouping effort to reach relief wagons; Arkreneos’ mount made its fierce presence known, devouring many of Piergieron’s men and slaughtering hill giants: who had allied themselves with the resistance. As adventurers and Purple Dragons retreated (towards Eveningstar), they regrouped at supply lines to keep them heavily reinforced and secure, surrendering Arabel to the beast and the orc hoard. Its terrifying roar heard ringing into the air as the army retreated. News from across the realms eventually reaches Cormyr once more, the people being updated. Thay and Evermeet claim the first victories during the war. The island nation securing itself after week-long naval battles. The use of dragon turtles is rumored to have aided them. Thay’s Red Wizards managed to drive the enemy off the Golden Way into Thesk (consequently, ‘sacrificing‘ it), the Forest of Lethyr and towards Narfell. It is said that forces out of Aglarond had to retreat, but left a great impact with their assistance. Now, Szass Tam and a large force of Thayan Red Wizards make their way towards Cormyr, as promised, and Rashemen with Impiltur’s aid seek to release Thesk from the madman’s hold. Other news from the realm consist on the status of Mulhorand and Unther, forces of the madman being spotted there, mostly demons rather than orcs. The enemy marched out of the Toadsquat Mountains and have begun their bombardments on the eastern nations. Tantras is said to be sending hundreds of Tormtars to aid Cormyr, and the Moonsea continues to remain under the madman’s control, with many conflicts of interesting brewing out of the Cormanthor forest - if continuing to assist the Moonsea truly worth the efforts. Myself, the illustrious DM Charon's Claw, will be taking over this plot for the remainder of it! So..... with that being said! *points below* The Battle for High Horn is going to be held on Saturday, March 21st. It will be held on this server and will be at 8AM EST time.
If anyone has objections as to the time, please PM me and I'll work something out.
The time and possibly date above is still being worked out via PMs with a few folks who can't make it due to this who would really like to. I am trying to make it so that as many people can attend as possible at a reasonable hour, though I'm not exactly adept with time zones. A few other variables also need to be fleshed out perfectly so I can continue with this smoothly. Until then folks, just hang on please.
