I was wondering why experience is so low on this server? According to the DM's Guide 3.5, a first level character that kills a kobold should receive 50 experience, but I only received 13 exp. It seems like it takes forever to level up a low level character.
Is this to keep everyone playing from topping out in levels to fast?

Level progression is slow to keep the environment immersive in the sense that we do not have a bunch of level 40 god-like players running around.
One cannot implement an exact replica of the DnD style experience scale in an online setting without causing an extremely fast levelling rate. Analysis of the DnD xp scale shows that it takes a player 13.333 battles of challenge rating "challenging" to level up. How many battles can you fight in an hour in NWN? 10? 20? 50? As you can see, level progression using exactly DnD style would put you at level 20 in about 20 hours of play.
FRC's xp progression is such that it is possible to reach level 20 in a year of playing (some players have done this, while others take much longer).

Don't go completely by what the sourcebooks tell you in regards to the mechanics of both FRC and NWN. The alterations we have away from the books are all done with a reason. The lower XP is, indeed, so that people do not skyrocket immediately to level 20 and above.

Thanks for the quick response. Just to clarify, this was not a complaint, just a passing thought at two in the morning last night. You DM's are doing an amazing job, FRC is way too much fun. Also, something else I just realized: When you team up with other characters of the same level and kill a monster, the exp. isn't divided among the group. You get the same amount whether you kill one on your own or kill one as a group. Was this your design to promote team playing or just a lucky coincidence created by NWN?
