I'm new to this server. I haven't even been IG as of yet, because I'm still in the process of getting CEP2 on my pc. I had several questions that I thought I would ask. So here goes.
1. Adventuring Companies -
Would these be considered Guilds? I ask because I routinely play on the City of Arabel server at the moment. They are going to close down once the module for the nwn2 server is set up fully. I'm starting an adventuring group on the server, known as the Azure Knights. I've come here to browse around and learn about the FRC, as a possible home for my adventuring company. Would it be acceptable for us to call ourselves that, until we had the requirements for becoming a guild?
2. Ninja Looting -
I saw this question before and one fact of it has me wondering. Is it still ninja looting if your character is based around stealth and it would be IC for them to ignore the creatures? Like an evil aligned character who would think it funny to leave a handful of creatures walking around in hopes of some goody good character to get his tail whipped. I'm not speaking in OOC terms or anything, just wondering about the IC aspect. I know I've had some characters that would leave a group alone, if there was the possibility they would be outmatched, is this still ninja looting and a bad thing or is it IC to do so, based on the character?
3. Guild House -
Where could I learn more about the aspects of this? Maybe someone already in a Guild that sees this could PM me with details on what you can have with what all you can do with the 250K that goes towards this? I'd also like to know about if there are dyes available for purchase to dye armor, clothing, cloaks. My group has a set color scheme to easily identify one another, if no dyes are sold, could it be possible to get something inside the guild house the could dye clothing/armor?
4. Forums
I've set up a forums, dealing with information about the Azure Knights, similar to the ones you have in your forums. It would be alright to use those, wouldn't it? Once I get them set up as a guild I'll give any of the dm's or members of the Purple Dragons, War Wizards, and Militia (if there is one) access to the forums, as my group would be one to help aid those factions, and for the dm's to see our postings.
That's all I had. Server looks awesome from what I've read. Hope to be able to come play here soon.

I'll answer what I can: 1) No. Adventure companies are not guilds. Adventure companies are a group or groups of people that decide to give themselves a name and go out and adventure. Like a mercenary group without a base. And yes, you can call yourselves what you wish. And maybe, some day, there will be a guild. 2) Ummm... No. It's still ninja looting. If you are sneaking in somewhere, just hitting the treasure, and sneaking out without killing your spawns? That's ninja looting. If you're sneaking in and stealing treasure before the group that's there gets to it becuase they're killing stuff... That's ninja looting. If you go in, see that you're outmatched, and decide to stay long enough for the treasure, that's ninja looting with a good chance of death. So... My advice... Don't do it. 3) The 250k not only goes towards housing. It goes towards special keys for the guild, any uniforms or equipment that will be standard issue, shrines, decorations, staff... Lots of stuff. Everyone gets a dye kit at the Cormyr border when they make their character. It's a universal dye kit, so any colors that ever could be available, are. So have fun with it! 4) Outside forums are not my thing. As a temporary thing I don't see why not, but if your group ever actually becomes a guild, I believe that the forum stuff would have to be here. Not 100% on this. Ainur or Usurper or Justicar would have a better (and more definite) say.

I'm new to this server. I haven't even been IG as of yet, because I'm still in the process of getting CEP2 on my pc. I had several questions that I thought I would ask. So here goes. Welcome, hope you enjoy it here. You have come to the right spot to ask questions. Glad that you have asked these because it's a good indicator for me personally as to what needs to be added to the FAQ section of the forums. An adventuring company would not be considered a guild. We do have several prerequisites for earning guild status. Mind, that getting a guild up and going here isn't a simple overnight deal. The crew typically would like to see some roleplaying effort from any group that comes by and also would like to make sure they stick around for longer then two months. You can most certainly go about in an adventuring troupe and call yourself the Azure Knights, but you would not get any privileges that a guild would. Should the crew, however, see lots of effort on the roleplaying front with your group then we may just see to it that your guild status is earned. There is no, I repeat NO, In Character excuse for ninja looting. Period. If caught doing this, you will be banned. There is information on this where I will post the links later. There is a free dye kit available that any PC can get and utilize. I would say that general consensus for this would be a no. Once your group can manage to get guild status we would set up your own forum here on the FRC boards. This is far more convenient for us, overall, when needing to get messages to you and/or your memebers. Not knocking your efforts, it's just a matter of simplicity. Please read all you can, especially the server rules section. Many of your questions are answered there. Hope to see you in game.

The reason I asked about the forums is, the one I have holds several different areas. There is one area that is a general area for all the members, while I have another area that only the leaders of the group are allowed into, so we could have personal files that a member wouldn't have access to. As well as a library with information that the group has gathered, whether it is on other groups, religions, creatures, or things dealing with Cormyr. There is also a section for a bulletin board, that I think may work well as being "setup" outside the guild house, for non members to come look at, say if someone had something to sell or events done by the guild could be posted in.
Is it possible, using this set of boards, to have the distinctions like that, if I got a forum here? Or would it be just the one forum area with all topics having to be in one general area?
If it is like that, would it still be not allowed to have the other area, as it could get very cluttered with just one general area, plus the fact of keeping personal files hidden. I don't want to really clutter up this forum with things like that.
Maybe I could have the general group board here, with something for the bulletin, and keep the library and leader board on mine? However it could be worked out.
I mean, I could have the board here for the dm's, and members of the guard?, to send things to us, just meant my own forums to be more of the inhouse thing. Hope all of this makes some sense *grins*

When you get a guild board here on these forums you will not get additional sections. If we provided that to you, then we'd have to offer it to every guild. And, as you can see, our forums are already stocked full with more then enough sections.
Having your own site that showcases information on your adventuring group sounds fine.
But should you ever get a full guild situated on FRC then I think we would expect your forum posts regarding the guild to be on the FRC boards. Again, for simplicities sake, this is the best option.

Well, most of the information would be in the boards here, just stuff like library information or a character's personal record could be located separately.
I could work it so that everything else went here, that is no trouble, the only reason I wanted the library and leader part separate was tht new members wouldn't get into the library until they'd attained a certain rank, so they couldn't come in and take whatever they wanted from the library and then pick up and leave. The same was for the leader part, because it wouldn't be good for a member to see whether the higher ranks thought he was doing good, or bad. To keep them from bragging around (if good) or leaving altogether (if bad). Or then that, all the IC letters between members and the bulletin could be done here. All bulletins about selling items or stuff could go in the Regal Griffin part, couldn't they?
The information in the library wouldn't be about the group, more about the various regions, other characters that bear watching, evil groups, etc.
The leader thing would have information regarding the tests that go with promotion, a member's personal record, in general anything that wouldn't be available to those not officers in the guild.

For heading into the "library" and then just deciding to pick up and leave, I would have one suggestion for you. Be very picky with who you allow to have in your guild (should it ever reach guild status that is). This way the only people you have viewing the forum are the ones you most certainly want.
And also mind that just because the information isn't about your guild, the information would still be what your guild knew. That sort of information needs to be available so that the crew knows if it's possible to run you guys through a quest or not. Have it on another forum and I doubt too many in the crew are going to look there.
Again, for simplicities sake, it's best to keep it to one forum.
Let's see where you can go with your group first, as well, before getting to the bridge of forum access.
