Day of the last Greatgaunt Volunteers meet...
"lets fine em"
"Should one of us not wait here?"
Trying to stick to their leader's side was apparently a mistake as Jaedvada -- having never set foot in Suzail before today -- paused too long at the question cast by another of the Volunteers. Maybe it had been that she'd fallen twice in battle before getting there and was half dazed by the size and scope of the city, but the time it took for her to look behind her and look forward again was just long enough for their leader to leave her sight.
She tried to head back only to find those at the northern gate suddenly gone. Then tried to pick up the trail of their leader only to find that some of the streets looped back in on themselves. After an hour of hopelessly wandering, Jaedvada became horribly and completely lost.
She did try to ask a guard the directions to the nearest town crier, but when he asked "which one" the dejection kicked in. There was a moment where she found the market with the fountain and waited there in the hopes one of the Volunteers who knew their way around could find her, but it was for naught.
Her only hope now was to make her way to the caravans to see if any of the routes lead back to Greatgaunt. The innkeeper at the Wailing Wheel Inn was at least helpful and gave her directions on how to get to where they were. Unfortunately, Jaedvada didn't have enough coin to afford even the lesser priced journeys. Worse, the cost to spend a night in a room was even more.
She had the wherewithal to ask one of the guards if they knew of a less costly place to sleep. He had mentioned a place called the Obscene Ogre, but immediately retracted his statement when looking her over. He recommended then a space just outside the city where "adventurer's were known to frequent and rest". So there she went, to where campfires and logs to sit upon were set, and hunkered down for the night.
In the morning, she would have to figure out what to do.
