In the Suzail city core, a disgruntled dwarf, Gann, knocks on the door of the Mill of the Glyph-lord. He looks along the street, past the silent room, to the Rainbow Squid too while he waits for an answer. He carries a scroll, one of those that suggest invoking the name of the Spider-queen, and has come to ask if the clever folk on Deneir's road can identify the paper, the ink, or anything else about the writing that may narrow down its source.

A member of the laity from within the shrine of Deneir finally finds time in their busy writing schedule and agrees to take a look at the parchment. He carries out a few experiments and examines it closely. This is just a piece of parchment that has been written on. Nothing special about it... the same type of parchment, ink and so on that the majority of none specialised scribes use. Which is a large pool of suspects.
