Poor Malcave, doesn't realize that he has become what he is confessing to hate.
Seems you need a reminder as well as the weakness of Jocks in modern society being represented in a now-old movie where we continue to be a society favoring intellect over unguided physicality the thread is about someone celebrating a moment of fame in their life and you're coming across as fearful in your heart to accept someone else having had a success perhaps you never had.

We have all become what we profess to hate. It's all in good fun. And I totally got the Ted reference... On account of my advanced age.
I still want to be on Team Dirty Jock's when the sky splits open and the sky rains fire brimstone and 5G hardware. The guy who can dig a fox hole and build a shelter will be much more valuable than the guy who writes game code when the Grid goes down.
