Kaelyth Windsong
In Game Physical Description: This woman has a lithe figure with dark skin, jet black hair, and bright green eyes. If the weather is permitting, she has a lot of exposed skin which is covered in tattoos resembling ivy, briars, and thorns. If its cold she is bundled in animal furs. Looks like she might be around 16 hands tall and somewhere between 8 to 9 stones in weight if you had to guess." Race: Wild Elf Home Region: A forested region of the Western Heartlands (She won't say more) Eye Color: Bright Green Hair Color: Jet Black Height: 5'4" Tall Weight: 124 lbs Age: 134 years Kaelyth arrived at the border of Cormyr on the Hammer the 3rd, 1386 DR - The Year of the Halflings' Lament. She begrudgingly registered as what they kept calling an "archer" or "ranger" since her primary capabilities revolved around shooting a bow, moving safely and quietly through the wilderness, and foraging for food and herbs. These were skills that were ingrained into her at an early age due to her heritage. Kaelyth has long, jet black hair which is decorated with various beads and feathers. She has what looks like a concurrent body tattoo resembling vines, ivy, thorns, and briars. She looks to be of average strength and health, but it seems like she is quite lithe and nimble - not as thin and frail as most elves, built a little sturdier than what a Moon Elf or Sun Elf would be. Her eyes flash with curiosity and have an intelligence about them that sharply contrasts her barbaric/wild appearance. Some might say she is attractive, and during the warmer months, her clothing doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination and it consists mostly of leathers, hides, and beadwork.

A Day for Calm Strategy
Eris and Kaelyth inched forward into the darkness of the caverns as they had done so many times before. Kae's shortbow was nocked with an arrow and Eris had her crossbow loaded and at the ready. The rest of their comrades were several paces behind them in a well-thought-out position to make an ambush. Every few feet ahead, Eris would stop, sling her lethal arbalest, and begin setting up a deadly trap for the orcs and goblins that were surely ahead. Kaelyth stayed focused on the potential unknown dangers, she could hear the guttural language of their enemy ahead. "Oi Kae!" Eris whispered, "Just a few more we canna go bait 'em out to and inta tha killin' field!" Kaelyth nodded and kept following Eris as they pushed forward ever so slowly, Eris back in a ready position with her weapon.
They both stopped suddenly, almost at the same time, looking down at a thin bit of wire strung across the passage. They looked at each other, nodded once, and Kaelyth aimed her bow down the cave just in case as Eris slung her crossbow and knelt down slowly. Kaelyth and Eris could both find traps easily enough, but only Eris' knowledge, experience, and deft touch could ensure they were properly disarmed. After a few moments, Kaelyth heard the a sound go -clink!- ever so slightly. Eris whispered: "It's ours now!" while shooting Kaelyth a mischievous sideways glance.
It didn't always work this way. Several other times, Kaelyth and Eris had been with other adventurers who didn't understand the meaning of "Don't get in front of us or you might find yerself impaled!". Eris would grumble, muttering about how some of these warriors were more akin to toddlers - with no idea what they should or shouldn't touch and no clue about proper strategy. Kaelyth admired Eris' dedication and skill, the two of them had become fast friends and gotten each other out of several scrapes. Their skill sets had some overlap but still complimented each other well. They had met in Greatgaunt not so long ago mostly thanks to a warrior named Brant. He was the founder of a small group of adventurers known as "The Brightpath Adventuring Company". Brant wasn't with them on this particular trip, but Kae and particularly Eris were both glad that their other companions were at least showing some patience.
Eris set the last trap as the passage began to open up into a larger cavern. They peeked around the corner and found their quarry: several orcs including one with a pet boar. Eris and Kaelyth took aim, Eris had placed a spare bolt between her teeth as Kaelyth whispered softly; "One... two... three!" They both let their respective missiles fly towards the "fancier" looking orc with the boar. Kaelyth's arrow sunk into the orc's upper left shoulder close to the torso while Eris' quarrel lodged itself deeply into its chest on the right side. The orc let out a great, guttural squeal through its porcine about, spattering out some dark blood as it did so. The other orcs yelled in their angry and vulgar sounding dialect, charging forward with the boar to close the gap on the Kae and Eris. Their wounded target tried to bring his arms up to cast some sort of magicka at them, but he struggled against his wounds. The two women both had time for one more shot, Kaelyth pulling an arrow from the quiver on her back and Eris loading the both she had bit down on. The boar had already crossed half the distance to them, but yet again they fired off shots and hit their mark. The orc caster groaned and fell over, face first, onto the damp cavern floor.
The boar, having been torn from its home by the orc shaman, quickly blinked back to whence it came as Kaelyth and Eris both spun around and dashed back down the passage at full speed. Eris with an enduring, athletic stride and Kaelyth with her graceful elven movements. Behind them, the orcs pursued in an aggressive and reckless manner. The orc in the lead tripped over the first of Eris' traps, falling into sharp spikes. He howled as he was thrown off balance and rolled forward into yet another trap that blasted him in bright light. It was the last thing he saw in his mortal life. The second orc tripped over the first, falling into a wicked trap that sprayed him with acid, searing away the orc's warty flesh. The third orc pushed his brother aside and jumped forward only to land on the final trap which assaulted his eardrums as a blast of sound erupted. Kaelyth and Eris had made it behind the line of ambush. As the blast of sound echoed through the caverns, the whole party sprang into action. "We shall be victorious!"Kaelyth yelled out in a sing-song voice to her comrades. A stocky dwarf warrior in full plate who wielded a large axe and shield charged forward as a large man hefting a two-handed sword high over his head moved forward with him. The orcs never stood a chance. . .

A Day for Unbridled Fury (Part 1)
Ava and Kaelyth walked beneath the canopied boughs of the Bramblewood Forest, Ava's pace so steady and determined as usual. Kaelyth did her best to keep up but more often than not fell behind, her movements graceful but steps not quite as fast as Ava's own march. The fearsome female warrior would have to break stride every so often to make sure Kaelyth was still there. Kaelyth blended into the landscape, the wilds were her church and her home, and if she made a point to try and go unnoticed, it was undoubtedly hard to see her in this element. Ava clanked forward all business like, her dark adamantine armor and other equipment clearly not designed for stealth. Kaelyth joked that with Ava around, no one would notice her just by virtue of the fact that Ava's volume drowned out any light noise Kaelyth still made.
The pair made their way north, deeper into the forested region. Suddenly, almost out of nowhere a group of four gnolls set upon them. Such savage beings were known to inhabit this particular part of the Bramblewood and with enough numbers they could cause some adventurers a headache. Ava didn't have the word hesitate in her vocabulary, her shield and massive pickaxe were already prepared for the task ahead. Her first strong swing connecting with a gnoll at the front of the pack, the other three dogmen moving in to encicle the Tempuran as they faught, which in turn caused Ava to smile slightly beneath her winged helm. Kaelyth popped out from the cover of a tree trunk, drawing an arrow back and letting it fly towards the gnoll closest to Ava's back. The shot wasn't great, striking a metal plate at an angle on the creature's piecemeal armor. The arrow glanced off and kept sailing on into the brush. The gnoll snarled and spun towards the elfess, leveling out its halberd in a wreckless charge to close the gap between them. Kaelyth leveled out for a second shot, this time it struck the gnoll, sinking into the meaty part of its right thigh. The gnoll started to stumble, but regained its composure, pushing ahead through obvious pain as it howled in a rage. The next thing that happened looked very fluid as Kaelyth slung her shortbow across her back, and pulled out two smaller bladed weapons. The gnoll overextended its attack, Kaelyth spun around it and sliced at the hyena faced horror. It made a strange cackling sound as her blades cut through its speckled fur and on into it's flesh. The gnoll was still standing and it quickly whipped the butt of the halberd around towards Kaelyth, knocking her legs out from underneath her. Completely unprepared, Kaelyth found herself on her back with the air knocked out from her lungs. The gnoll wasted no time, gripping the upper haft of the halberd he prepared to drive a killing blow. The savage gnoll was just barely too slow as Kaelyth rolled out of the way and the head of the polearm sank into the ground where she had just been. As she sprang back up, she pushed the blade of her shortsword into the lower jaw of her dog-faced enemy, sending him to meet Yeenoghu in the process. Kaelyth huffed as she yanked the sword out of the gnoll's corpse and stood all the way back up just in time to see Ava tear her pick out of the lifeless skull of the final gnoll, the other two laying nearby having quickly and easily succumbed to Ava's martial powess.
"Are you okay my Thiramin?" Ava asked Kaelyth in Illuskan. Kae dusted herself off and replied in Ava's own language with a grin; "Yes my gem, one of them just seemed too fond of me is all." The two stopped at a nearby stream to wash the gore and grime from their equipment before continuing forward. Kaelyth checked over her supplies again, particularly her inventory of herbs, salves, potions, and medicinal supplies. She noted the several puffy-looking mushrooms and blueish-purple flowers connected to long brown roots. "Ava?" Kaelyth gestured to a small belt pouch worn on Ava's side. Ava handed the pouch over to Kaelyth almost before the elven archer could finish her name. Kae made sure Ava was well supplied for the remainder of their journey. They were making their way to a place allegedly infested with scaly creatures known as Troglodytes. After some travel, and the occasional stop by Kaelyth when she located a patch of potentially edible mushrooms, the two found a small cave in the hillside of the Bramblewood. The air from whatever was on the other side was without a doubt far less clean. Ava grunted and moved forward with Kaelyth following behind. Once on the other end, Kaelyth constantly found herself wrinkling her nose in disgust. The ground was littered with several fallen humanoid creatures, some decayed past the point of knowing what they once were. It stood to reason that the neighboring Gnolls and nearby Troglodytes likely had territorial disputes, and neither Ava nor Kaelyth were the first adventurers to venture into the nasty place. Ava stopped to salvage anything of note from the fallen as Kaelyth searched the area for tracks. Scaly-kind weren't her specialty, that would be goblins and orcs, but she observed numerous prints and depressions in the ground that stood out from the rest. They reminded her of Kobold tracks. . . but the deeper depressions and larger size indicated that these were not kobolds.
Just as Kaelyth was about to bring the tracks to Ava's attention, the already foul climate around them became that much more disgusting. From around a bend in the trail, a group of them rushed forward. They bore crude weapons in their clawed hands and primitive armor over their greyish-purple scaled skin. Ava lifted her weapon high and counter-charged into the group of them, catching their full attention while Kaelyth moved into a position where she could engage from a distance. Ava landed a killing blow on one of the Trogs, her pickaxe lodging into the skull of the creature. Ava tore the things head off, and as she turned to swing the Lost Anchor against the next foe, the hewn crown of the fallen Troglodyte sailed off into the distance, inadvertently launched by Ava as she continued her furious strikes. "TEMPUS!!" Ava's yell echoed loudly through the woods. Their quarry knew they were here now. Ava's cry to the Lord of Battles was a challenge to the local inhabitants. Kaelyth got a few good shots in with her shortbow, but as usual, most of the gory work was done by Ava. The combat was ruthless, but swift, with the score being four Troglodytes down and an Illuskan and Wild Elf standing proudly. . .

A Day for Unbridled Fury (Part 2)
The two women carried on into the lair of the Troglodytes, where they found not only noxious air but also foul stagnant water. Kaelyth wondered to herself if she would be able to get the stink and muck out of her hides. Fighting the Troglodytes was becoming increasingly more dangerous the further they went. Their foes had the advantage of knowing the swampy territory and seemed adept at using it to their advantage. To make matters worse, something, either the Troglodytes very presence, the environment itself, or a combination of both sapped away at the strength of those nearby. Ava handled it in her typical fashion, obviously not enjoying it but maintaining a stoic resolve. Kaelyth on the other hand was slogging through it in misery. The Wild Elf counted on her mobility in a fight, and this place, these creatures, were experts at making sure she couldn't move. Ava continued to lead them on, stopping to search the crates and supplies stacked up by the scaly-folk, likely stolen merchandise from folks traveling the Bramblewood.
Suddenly, Ava and Kae stopped and listened. Ahead and around the bend, on the other side of the gully, they both heard what could only be the ritualistic sounds of one of the Troglodytes skilled in some use of the art. Ava looked to Kae and motioned for her to stay put. Kaelyth found some cover near some crates and readied herself. Ava drew out her bow, stepped around the corner of the gully, and let loose an arrow at the nearest Troglodyte. She quickly sidestepped back around the corner, swapping her bow out for the Lost Anchor and her shield. What Kae saw next was not completely expected and took her aback. The first creature around the bend was an adolescent green dragon. Dull green scales covered its body, darker and dimmer than what they would be if the creature survived to adulthood. It was roughly the size of Ava or Kae, not a wyrmling like Kaelyth had fought before. The young dragon began its attack by unleashing a corrosive breath from its lungs, and as Ava was inundated with the disgusting acidic cloud, she flew into a fury. Ava bashed at the wyrmling with her shield and began hacking it apart with her pickaxe, scales, and darkened ichor spewing from the wounds inflicted on the beast during the assault. As those two fought, Kaelyth saw the creature's master run into view. This Troglodyte began to harness its knowledge of the weave, its evil invocations, and gestures aimed toward Kaelyth's beloved. Kae took a steady aim with her shortbow and let an arrow fly. The missile found its mark in the throat of the scaly-kind caster, lodging itself deeply and causing the things spell to fizzle out. It was a shot to be proud of and allowed Kaelyth to move up into a position where she could help Ava kill off the dragon. Kae didn't get hardly even two shots in before Ava, screaming in a fit of rage, lodged her pickaxe into the skull of the wyrmling, its serpentine tongue falling out of the side of its head as its eyes rolled back in death. No sooner than they thought the task complete, more Troglodytes came to avenge their fallen. Kaelyth turned towards them, retrieved a puffball mushroom from a pouch on her belt, and tossed it at the group of Trogs. The mushroom blasted apart on the forehead of one of the aggressors, spreading a cloud of spores around them. One of the lizards seemed unfazed, the others were stuck rubbing their eyes, coughing, and sneezing violently. Ava and Kae used this moment to their advantage and killed the oncoming creatures one at a time in short order.
Pressing on further, the couple came to the entrance of a cave. Inside they found the air and water much more clean and pure which livened the moods of the two women significantly. Bright crystalline formations dotted the cavern, casting light and shadow about as they moved onwards. Ava and Kaelyth were forced to slow down and climb up and over a portion of the cave. Ava had some difficulty, likely due to all the equipment she carried. She slipped and fell on the rocks loudly whilst muttering curses in Illuskan. Kaelyth nimbly bounded over the obstacle with minimal effort, leaping down to check on Ava as she grumbled. A strange dull roar or maybe even roars erupted from somewhere deeper in the dark, causing the cavern to shake loose rocks and water to fall and drip from the ceiling violently. Blue crabs skittered sideways as Ava and Kae moved forward towards the direction of the sound. Something big lurked ahead. Something large and dangerous. Down and down further they crept on, Kaelyth stopped at a ledge to try and survey their surroundings in the dimly lit environment while Ava continued forward. Then it reared its ugly heads, all five of them to be exact. The hydra rumbled and bounded forward, and Ava, stalwart as ever, rushed forwards to meet the foe. Kaelyth started firing arrow after arrow into the monster from her position above, but it quickly became apparent that she would have to close the gap if they were to have any true success. The hydra spewed forth acidic bile from one of its heads, which, much like the wyrmling the bested before, caused Ava to go berserk. Ava's wild unbridled fury was like nothing Kae had seen. A chaotic whirlwind of shouting, hacking, bashing, and pure destruction. All this while Kaelyth moved into and out of combat around Ava, slashing her blades at the beast as she moved from flank to flank, supporting Ava as best she could. The battle was by far the fiercest bit of combat the two had seen together, and could be described as a chaotic dance of violence. The Hydra roared, Ava roared back, and Kaelyth shouted out words of encouragement over the din of combat as each head of the beast was torn, slashed, and hacked apart. Ava landed the final killing blow on the thing, its massive bulk shuddering and splashing down into the waters around them. Ava raised the Lost Anchor to the sky and gave out a victory cry to the Lord of Battles. Tempus granted his favor to Ava that day, a blinding light washing over the barbarian from the north. Kaelyth closed her eyes, wincing and looking away as the brightness washed over her Thiramin. Once it finally faded, Kaelyth turned to Ava and the two embraced happily. "The Voehammer Vavors us and is proud of this victory mein symphony!" Ava said to Kaelyth. Kae looked Ava over for any wounds. Not a scratch on her, not so much as a mark from the fight with the beast. Kae smiled broadly and the two made their way out of the cave and back to the safer parts of the Bramblewood for some well-earned respite.

Answering the Call
Kaelyth set to task, deliberately delicate motions made with a finely crafted sickle. Though Toril was in "the Drawing Down" of Nightal, this sacred place was still warm and verdant. Almost a year had passed since she had arrived in Cormyr, and the Wild Elfess was still young at 133 years. During her time in Cormyr, she had seen the ruins of Tel'Quessir, met other kin, and ventured about the lands new to her. The forested footpaths, rolling hills, lush valleys and other more untamed areas of Cormyr had become her church, but she had never been blessed with the knowledge of a place held specifically holy to Elvenkind until just recently. As she tended dutifully to the Seldarine shrine she thought back to the moment, the deep calling to her inner spirit that originally brought her here...
**Sometime prior**
Kaelyth could travel alone, but she knew she had to do so with upmost caution and care. She thought wistfully to herself how Cormyr had such a dual nature. Mankind had carved a place of law and civilization here, but there was vast areas of wilderness, places of beauty and areas where darker denizens held sway. There was wisdom in taking care when one walked alone. She spotted tracks of both goblin and giant-kin, easily distinguishable from one another, even by a novice tracker. "Goblins first." Kaelyth thought to herself, being alongside orc-kind as her favored quarry. From her experience and visual estimate of the size of the goblinoid tracks, she knew they had to be hobgoblins. Having faced them several times before, she knew them to be smarter, more organized, and downright dangerous when compared to their smaller cousins. Normally, she'd have the luxury of the love of her life by her side, but Ava had other duties to attend to so this was a time for patient and calculated conflict. Seeing no signs that she was in any immediate danger, she began to tap into her powers, closing her eyes and humming a bit before invoking an array of helpful spells. These powers were innate magicka, she was not formally trained in the art, but it was a power that was growing stronger the more she learned how to tap into it. Protective wards of Abjuration and Illusion washed over her, and spells of Transmutation strengthened her body and quickened her already nimble reflexes. After this, Kaelyth slowly stalked the trail left by the hobgoblins, and after a time she crept up to an encampment of the creatures. She counted five, at least five she could see and hear anyways. Around the campsite she saw bags and crates, no doubt the misbegotten gains of their raids upon weary travelers and caravans. Kaelyth moved about unseen, keeping her distance while working out a plan. She had to split them up to have a chance, rushing in was a luxury for those with skills like her Thiramin. She was about to take a calculated risk with these five, one that banked on their greed getting the best of them. Kaelyth backtracked a ways from the campsite, out of eyesight but not earshot, and then she picked up a loose stick from the ground and purposely, rather loudly snapped it in half before running even further away from the Hobgoblins. Taking cover behind a large set of rocks, she quickly peeked over and saw her plan unfold before her. Two of the five took the bait, the other three stayed back with their stolen goods. The two hobgoblins strayed far enough from their compatriots that Kaelyth felt confident with the engagement, and just as they turned away from her, thinking perhaps it was just an animal in the woodline making the noise, she snapped into action. Her shortbow loosed an arrow straight and true, the enchanted weapon made a soft, musical sound as the projectile traveled the distance and met it's mark at the base of the Hobgoblin's spine. The creature dropped to the ground as it's partner whirled around in astonishment. Kaelyth let loose two more arrows in rapid succession just as the remaining Hobgoblin raised it's weapon to charge at her, but this portion of the fight was over almost as quickly as it began. "Three to go." She thought to herself. Concerned that the other three had picked up on the sounds of combat, despite how quick she had tried to be, Kaelyth moved into concealment away from where she had felled the two Hobgoblins. Listening closely, she heard no signs of the other three, but she knew it was only a matter of time before they would wonder what had become of the missing members of their band, and waiting too long might only deepen their suspicions. Now with a mixture of delicate quickness and quietness, two hard things to accomplish at once, she made her way back towards the encampment. Either by great luck, skill, or a risky combination of both, Kaelyth spotted the other three before they noticed her. They looked more alert, like they knew something wasn't right. "Definitely not as stupid as their little cousins." Kaelyth thought quickly to herself. She felt her various wards still strongly holding and dove into action, firing arrows as fast as she could from within some vegetation. Her plan was to draw the Hobgoblins into the underbrush, where their larger frames and bigger weapons would be harder to use. The goblinoids quickly moved towards her position, with one of them taking the lead and carrying a large shield. The shield deflected a arrow or two, but at least one found it's mark, slowing the creature considerably. The other two had a choice, continue to move slowly behind their companion in the hopes of having a measure of cover, or charge on. They chose to be bold and brash. The two crashed into the woods wildly, but just prior Kaelyth deftly slung her showbow and pulled out a set of small blades. Fighting up close wasn't her forte, but she had been getting better, and her spells gave her the advantage she needed. A ghostly nimbus that surrounded Kaelyth made her hard to hit, and she had been correct in choosing the place to engage in the melee. Her smaller, more agile frame coupled with the quick twirling blades ended the more hasty Hobgoblins in short order, just as the remaining injured Hobgoblin reached her. This last one knew it couldn't run, knew she was just one lone elf, but also knew she had likely just bested four of it's kin. It faught with the furious mindset that benefits any sentient creature, both good or evil in nature, for survival. The hobgoblin's axe connected with a powerful strike that shot pain through her, but her wards held and dulled the harmful blow. After a deadly dance of bladework, the last Hobgoblin fell to the ground at her feet.
She gathered what she assumed were valuables, Ava understood coin and material worth far better than she ever could, and just as she began to leave the encampment, she began to fill the strangest sensation. Not quite like her own personal moment of epiphany, but akin to it in some way. A calling. A literal and somehow familiar calling and tugging at her spirit. It couldn't be ignored. It had to be answered immediately, and it pulled her North. North of the village of Greatgaunt, North into and beyond the Bramblewood she had trodden since first in Cormyr. North passed the road veering off to Skull Crag and its wintery chills. Through the Darkwood she crept on Northwards, moving passed the cursed minions of Y'reess and into the swampy lands bordering the Tun. Large giants of evil nature tromped about amongst the wetlands, dark hearted creatures she knew she had to avoid - but more important was the call. Growing into a crescendo of spiritual emotion she moved on around the giant-folk, affording them a wide berth. Finally, through a hard to spot open area of the woods, beyond the marsh and giants, she found what had called her spirit. Though it was winter, the air grew warmer and more temperate. The trees still green with leaves, a place of wild and lush beauty. A beautiful shrine dedicated to the Seldarine, with gorgeous wild growth about the carefully erected monoliths. Kaelyth danced as she was overcome with the joy of finding a proper place to pay homage to her gods. As she danced, something huge burst forth from the woods and either from being so distracted, or by the very nature of the being, Kaelyth was caught completely off guard by the Dragon. As green as the forest around it and large as could be, Kaelyth stood in dumbstruck awe at the sight. She knew she should be terrified, and though a part of her wanted to flee, another deeper portion of her whispered to resist the instinct of flight. Maybe deep down she knew if the Dragon wanted her dead that there was little she could do to stop it, or maybe she sensed something more. This Dragon looked... well just downright different from all the tales she had heard of other Dragons. It's scales were covered in moss and growing things, it smelled of the woodlands, and though it gazed upon Kaelyth with a ferocious countenance, it didn't just press on to attack her outright. "Who are you!? By what name are you called?!" The great Dragon bellowed. Her tounge was slow she could only respond with; "Kaelyth Battlesong, formerly Windsong." "Why are you here Kaelyth Battlesong?" The Dragon continued to question as it gazed deeply at her, it's head so close she could feel it's breath on her face. "I was called to this place." she answered simply. The Dragon bellowed a response; "You were called to this shrine?" Kaelyth managed a weak nod. "Interesting." The Dragon mused. "Then I charge you Kaelyth, to guard and maintain this shrine and show it to others that are worthy and true." The Dragon extended a mighty claw towards Kaelyth, unfurling it before her and revealing a fine short sword crafted by skilled Elven hands. "Take this blade to wield as you see to this duty." Kaelyth respectfully took the blade offered by the Dragon, bowing her head in respect and awe as the Dragon returned to the forest with nary a trace. **Back to the present**
Kaelyth had finished tending the shrine, careful not to over prune or take away from the natural inherent beauty of the locale. She pulled a newly acquired blade from a hide sheath on her hip and sat it on her lap as she meditated in a state of reverie and prayer. She sent her thoughts, hopes, and dreams off to Arvandor, to The Protector of The People, to the Leaflord, and to the Seldarine in general. A warm, contented smile graced her lips as the time passed....
