A body was found outside GreatGaunt badly burned. Rumors fly around the town about who died, why they died, and the killer’s identity.
A little boy says he overheard a dwarf in black say that it was the master minstrel of Alizarin, Dark Harp that did the killing!
A washer woman says she’s not surprised because strange symbols have been mysteriously appearing in town for awhile now.
Kids start teasing each other saying if you do something bad the fire killer will burn you to death!

A guard and a priest of Ilmater was brought down by a pack of vicious zombies at the entryway into the Bramblewood Forest from GreatGaunt.
A force of adventurers put the zombies down and went into the forest.
A man dressed in the armor of a Triadic was seen taking the dead priest to the healers hut to prepare the body for transport.
Eventually word begins to spread and the identity of the priest is discovered to be that of Father Garrett, a healer of the poor and sick. He was well liked for his generous nature and healing skills.
The guard’s name was Cullen. Bentin goes to Cullen’s house to deliver the bad news. Cullen’s widow can be heard screaming how she just knew this was going to happen with all the adventurers bringing their troubles to their little town. She is also heard to blame Garrot as well for giving so much coin to adventurers that it makes many take up the lifestyle.

Tenna of Ilmater approaches both the widow and the carrier of the priest's body before they are buried and offers to try to breathe live back into them. She makes no guarantee it will work, but insinuates trying is the least she can do given what Greatgaunt has done for her over the years.

Tenna would be told that a scroll was used upon Father Garrett to no effect.
Cullen’s widow angrily asks, “Why do you care? People like you are why my husband is dead! You bring your troubles to our town with little care of the consequences and good people pay the price. We’re the ones that die while you are the ones filling inns throughout the land bragging about beating gods and dragons! I would give anything to have him back with me, but I could never forgive myself for ripping him away from his eternal reward.”
With that she retreats inside her house and the sound of soul rending grief can be heard inside joined by that of a baby hungry and awake from the sounds of the grieving mother. Bentin sighs and motions for Tenna to leave the poor woman to her grief.

The elf quietly takes the woman's yelling, not arguing back, then nods to Bentin's suggestion and tells him that if she should seek out someone to talk to or any sort of grief counseling her door is always open--the Ilmateri lives nearby, rather than only wandering through on occasion, and the focus of her ministry is therapy for the mentally suffering.
Otherwise, she returns to her investigations of the Triadic Knight that has been seen and the burnt man.

Syvie begins her initial study of the bone fragment gathered from the site of the portal for signs of taint, possible causes of death.

A man with a crook can be found walking around the Bramblewood seeking anything he can find of the undead that was left behind, and speaking to the animals around the region to find out anything new to what happened.

A confrontation is seen in GreatGaunt between a Triadic Knight and a man claiming to be the high priest of the Vaunted. Both parties seemed to want to fight, but neither wanted to be the aggressor. Townsfolk watch as the knights storm off to the Bramblewood and the priest walked off in the opposite direction.
Later on Moira, Cullen’s widow, is found dead. It would appear she stabbed herself in her heart. A letter is left behind as is a screaming baby girl. Currently the healer in the hut of healing is taking care of the baby for the time being.

A large group of the Knights of the Hand of Atonement pass through GreatGaunt. Some adventurers follow. Shortly after that a large plume of smoke fills the sky. Rumors spread about the knights purging the woods to the south of evil. Some say they fought Thayan slavers. Others traveled south to investigate and discovered the burnt wreck of a house totally destroyed. The ground appears to have been salted as well.

Runa is one of those who followed the Knights. Watching and listening as they question an older man by the name of Vast about the murder of the priest, Garrett. A book was found within the man's home with the symbol of Bhaal on the cover. Inside ciphers are found. Runa shows them to Katheryn and Jeridan before taking the book with her for further study. The next day she shows it to Mynian for further aid. The book showed Vast had committed many murders years before her arrival in Cormyr.
Vast had attempted to murder the Knight Commander using a dagger with a glowing blade. The dagger also bore the symbol of Bhaal on the handle. The Knights took the dagger with them to Skull Craig.

Another vicious attack has occurred. This time the Druidic merchant, Neva Ayt’miyt, was killed by swarms of insects that stripped his flesh from his bones. A drawing in his blood was found by his skeletal hand (see below). Famed Triadic healer Henrik was able to resurrect the druid, but sadly no details from him could be given. Rumors swirl about GreatGaunt about what is going on. Some are blaming the Vaunted while others say the Vaunted can’t be to blame because they would never use insects. What is known is that the perpetrator has not been found. Who will be next?

The druid Kerator was found staying with Neva for some time after, seeking other creatures to keep a eye on the region and keep a eye on neva. He continues to check in on the man once a day for the next few days, speaking to him calmly of the matter, or other days to his research of the various wild life of the region and the spirits of the forest within the region.

Reports of giant horned furry monsters south of Greatgaunt begin to trickle into Pett’s ears.
Rumors of a man drained of his blood found on the road to GreatGaunt seems to be mingled with the tales of the furry monsters.

A couple tendays pass and four knights from the Triadic Order of the Hand of Atonement appear before the Hut of Healing. They explain that they've heard how nobody has taken Cullen's baby girl in due to famines and the fact that most families seem to want boys to help with farm work. The healer gives thanks that the baby girl will have such a good group of people caring for her. The dame takes the swaddled baby and they walk by a two women adventurers, one human the other a half elf. The two adventurers are commenting on the dress of the knights as the knights walk out of town back to their camp in Skull Crag.

On her way to Skull Crag, Mynian Copperhand stops a short moment to speak to a few people in town. Hearing of what rumors there have been lately on the Hand of Atonement and also on the other odd dealings. She makes note of a few points with intent to investigate further in the coming days.

On the edge of the Bramblewood a man's body is found nailed to a tree with a holy symbol of Mystra hanging from his neck. His chest is stripped bare and has a jawless skull carved into the flesh and dried blood painted in a burst outward. Above the body is a note reading:
The Dark Sun rises!
Minions of the Harlot this is your future!

At some point a figure in dark greys and burgundy is seen planting flags of Mystra. The areas are familiar to those who've been following the deaths over the recent moonturnings. To the field south of Greatgaunt The farm just past the Bridge of Fallen Men The small druid grove within the Bramble
