You might need to uninstall again, make sure that all the files are gone, then doing a clean reinstall?

What are you using for it? Steam? GoG? Beamdog?

I am using beamdog. I was just playing normally, got a big lag spike, crashed. Game doesn't work, I did reinstall, same issue.

Also, I am not able to uninstall the game with the uninstall feature. I had to manually delete the folder and then beamdog reinstalled it. Still doesn't work though.

You might have to delete the registry keys before you can reinstall.
And I feel your pain. My PC stopped booting up sometime last weekend. I ordered a new (cheap) mini PC, I just hope it will run NWN once I get it.

It let me delete the entire NWN folder location, and then it did a full reinstall of 'missing' files/ Not sure where to go from here. Waiting for beamdog to respond by email, so...for the time being..I ain't playing.

I wonder if it has to do with the latest NWN update? FRC hasn't gone to the latest yet, I don't think. Maybe it was looking for a file on the server that FRC doesn't have yet? But why it would stop you from even uninstalling or running the game again, I don't know. Can go through the usual gambit of updating video drivers, etc etc, but beyond that I don't know.

Are you able to start the game at all? or close it crash before even getting to the main menu? are you able to launch the game if you open it via nwmain.exe rather then launching via beamdog client? Can you try renaming the nwsync folder found in Documents/Neverwinter Nights to something else (incase your local copy of nwsync database is corrupted, would need to redownload files to play, but if that's not the issue can rename it back).
Video Drivers / Sound Drives / Windows update is generally a good thing to hit up.
FM.

The game never starts. I cannot start it from the exe. I'll try the nwnsync thing.

Rename it back to nwsync then if you haven't already. You could try removing/renaming setting.tml but other then that nothing springs to mind as should try considering the game was working and then stopped outside of a hardware fault but even that might not be the case.
Updating Drivers is still a good idea if you haven't already, but I dunno.

I read about a player with same issue, he solved it by deleting some .hak files. Take it easy, hope you fix it soon.

I'm far from an expert, but if you can't uninstall through the uninstall.exe, and manually delete all the files. You may have some left over directory files or something similarly deep that you missed that keep screwing it up?

This has happened with a few folks getting their user settings file corrupted, and this is left behind when the game is removed preventing re-installs from fixing it FlyingMidget mentioned it above, look for the settings.tml file in "C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Neverwinter Nights" and delete it.
