I was wondering, could my monk character occasionally levitate for RP purpose only? My idea is that he would do this in front of few friends, during jointed meditation, praying session or alike... It makes sense to me that a monk with very high Ki and tons of practice would be able to do it. I imagined it as a slight lift from the ground in meditative state, nothing spectacular, nothing which would give him a boon in any way... But I also see that this could be considered God modding so I wanted to check can I RP this out, or do I have to use yoga balance or similar.
Appreciate the answer(s).

Unless there is mention of it in 3.0 or 3.5 Edition sources, old Han Solo would say...

I should have clarified official Forgotten Realms sources.
This one is homebrew so not official/canon.
While the wiki is more official, it describes levitate as an innate ability of specific creatures or as a magic spell for wizards and sorcerers. Monks are not described using it or learning it.
This one also describes it as a spell available to wizards and sorcerers and then unsure if this is general D&D or a Forgotten Realms adaptation.
Anyway, if he tries to use it via sorcerer powers, then maybe? Depends what the DMs decide. Short answer so far seems to be like... No, monks cannot levitate using their ki.
