Valkur's Roar Couriers raise the following proclamation bearing the seals of Baron Azorus Crownsilver of Valkur's Roar, the Council of Greatgaunt, and Lord Marister of House Zorastryl. Proclamations are made in the town squares of the settlements of the Cormyrian Western Reach and in Suzail. The written documents are left posted in public places, shielded from the weather.
Here ye, Hear ye,
Let it be known to the People of Suzail, Valkur's Roar, and the Western Reach
That in the summer of the Year of the Vindicated Warrior, 1383 DR
After a Pretender Lord, Matthias Zorastryl, Unlawfully claimed the lands of House Zorastryl as his own
Raised arms in defiance of the Crown and violently resisted the Crown's duly appointed agents attempting to restore the lands to its lawful lord
And acting in armed rebellion against the Crown killed or injured two hundred guardsmen of Valkur's Roar.
Let it also be known that these armed rebels were summoned to appear before Tribunal to be sentenced for their crime.
The officers serving beneath the Pretender Lord, leading his forces in battle against the Kingdom, were sentenced to Outlawry or Death.
However, the Tribunal had mercy and extended an offer of parole for those Zorastryl Rebel Officers.
Those who joined and supported the appointed Task Forces to remedy the wild magic afflicting the Western Reach at the time and to apprehend the Pretender Lord
Had potential to earn a pardon for their crimes committed serving the Pretender Lord, as determined by Task Force Leadership and Tribunal representatives.
The following individuals were determined to have not fulfilled their service obligations to the Task Forces. Their paroles have been revoked and they were not granted pardon.
Therefore their individual sentences shall be fulfilled in full, effective immediately as follows.
Castellan Vindel Alow for crimes of Murder and Armed Rebellion - Death. Should the gods intervene and restore life, the criminal shall be deemed an Outlaw.
Magus Carek Von Thendon for crimes of Armed Rebellion - Hereby deemed an Outlaw.
Sir Aein of Osiris for crimes of Armed Rebellion - Hereby deemed an Outlaw.
High Justice shall be performed upon Castellan Vindel Alow in Valkur's Roar on the 24th of Hammer, Year of Three Streams Blooded.
May the gods have mercy upon his soul.
The execution of Vindel will be carried out on Friday night, Jan 24, at 8 PM US Central time.

As she read over the notice, Aellas hand tightly balled into a fist for a moment before it relaxed. Her hazel eyes scanned one part over and over before her head lowered. If it was raining then her tears were well hidden. If not, she'd lie about having something in her eye. Regardless though, the young half elven woman turned away from the notice. She didn't return to her meditations...but she wasn't going to be around hearing people chant or cheer for their promised blood.

*As the mighty Red Emperor hears the proclamation, he says to himself:*
"Good, more upcoming bounties for me to hunt."

After helping little Jenny straighten up her new box home Sylus looks over the notice and sighs, he gives the brownie a gentle pat and mutters. "That idiot, I told him not to jump his parole, now he's going to die... and Aein the outlaw, Firstsword Norah is going to be sad. I wish Vindel had taken my advice... fool brother how are we supposed to save Cormyr from the orc horde if he's dead?" The squire grumbles and looks at the tiny brownie's sad face, "Buck up little one we can't save everyone, specially if they are their own worst enemy, we've got other things to worry about." He stares at the notice for a while longer. "Poor Aella, this is going to hit her hard." After a while Sylus marches back to the western reach barracks.

A man in purple robes chuckles to himself and says, “The sun is rising for some and setting for others.”

* Marister looks at the post and sighs. *He thinks to himself that it is good Aein will live but is disappointed he did not fulfill the parole. He had never met Magus or if he did he forgot.
As for Vindel, Marister had thought him smarter and would do anything to live. *

A mustachioed fellow that reeks of all that is man walks up to besides Aella.
"Hey there beautiful. Not sure if you've got rain in your eyes or if you're crying, but fret not milady! The Red Ravens are notorious for handing off the remains of the executed to questionable figures without even the slightest of verification of next of kin."
The man who is most definitely a dragonslayer, then lowers his voice.
"You know... I know a guy who knows where there's an ancient plot of land where people used to bury animals. He says that the ground there is...
...
....
....
Sowah.
Don't you see, gorgeous? You could bring him back...."

Aella paused and looked at the man for a moment. Her eyes seemed to be glazed over a bit, the lights that were normally bright and so full of life seemed much dimmer.
"Even if I brought him back...he'd be an outlaw and just another bounty to line someone's pockets. It would be better to find a place that turns back the hands of time than to find a place that raises the dead. How do I know he'll even be himself after he's raised on these grounds you speak of? What if he is no longer the person I remember him as? Must I kill him myself should things turn for the worst if...no...I won't do that...I'd rather traverse the nine hells or turn back time than do that to him."

Mynian was beginning to arrange things to a schedule. The mid-mornings had her walking about the town of Valkur's Roar, getting re-used to seeing familiar faces. Greeting some of them with a smile and a nod, and carrying a conversation or two with either a dock worker or market vendor. Getting a sense for the people of the place she now called home.
This morning she had intent to find out who the head stone cobbler was these days in the Roar. However, her ears couldn't ignore the mumbling of the latest.
"An execution. When's the last we had one of them?"
"At least my poor boy's soul will be at rest."
"Is more death really the answer to this?"
"Does we get ta throw tings at dem?"
An so on, and so forth.
She couldn't show how she felt and she kept her polite smile and carried on conversations as normal. If asked, she'd say she couldn't provide comment due to the sensitive nature of the situation.
She'd smile, she'd nod, and carry on.
All while the dark circles under her eyes became more pronounced.

On the dawn of the day of judgement, Lorren arrived early to the Great Hall of Valkur’s Roar, awaiting any orders regarding the safeguarding of the proceedings. Any opinions she had towards the execution; for good or ill, were kept silent.

Vindel will arrive at the execution with a hairdo that contains both braids and cornrows, so that his hair is both decorative but also kept shorter than his neck. The hairdo was created quickly. Closest to his face there are a few braids left loose. And there are some cornrows in the back, keeping the hair short by the hair being braided back into itself again. On the sides, the braids have been gathered in a pattern-like solution, before and over the cornrows. Note, there's no hair loose (no ponytail).

Mobius stood quietly (mostly, ignoring comments from Slate) as he witnessed the execution of the Heretic and of Vindel.
Once the deed was done he simply shook his head and walked away...curious about the Mysterious Warrior nearby.

The execution was fulfilled. A man who has had multiple stints behind bars for various violent crimes has finally met his sentence. It only took murders, armed rebellion, and the death of many men, women and children. Yet for some odd, very odd reason, the crowd of adventurers took to the public execution singing praises of the elf.
Though in times like this, only one person will champion the rational. When all seems dark and hope for logical thought is lost, a true hero must lace up his boots and return to light. For it is apparent that only he can see through clear eyes in this crazy, crazy kingdom that murderers, necromancers, and other filth should be shunned and publicly shamed instead of being befriended.
That man is Slate Dongder. For he has slain dragons, defeated Zhentarim armies, and out-riddled a sphinx.
