The keys are in the last merchant tab, along with the food. And sounds like bad luck with the disease and who was present... there are a couple of non-magical options. What are those options? Rest isnt helping. Also I am still trapped in that room, cant unlock the door, get out. Thanks for help. The first option is using a healing kit. Those can be pricy at low levels, and whoever is using it will still need to beat the disease's DC, but a lot of characters take points in Heal (and using the skill out of combat lets you take 20 on the roll). The second option I'm thinking of I'd prefer not to address in an OOC environment like the forum here... I think it's one of those things the DMs prefer to be learned IC. The server has reset since last night, so you should be back into the Welcome Area (and disease-free). In the future, if you get stuck like that, you can try seeing of there's a DM on who can let you out, or if you know someone who is in the inn you can try sending them a tell asking to be let out while emoting that you're banging on the door. (aside - I once had a bug where eating in the common room deleted my dwarf's key so I couldn't get out. I just RPd it as accidentally swallowing the key while picking my teeth. Still tasted better than Sam's stew)

asturonethoriusalineWell, I actually disagree with him that 10 CON is too low. 10 is average for humans, while 8 is average for elves and 12 is average for dwarves and gnomes. Also, some classes can get away with an average score (or lower) in CON and survive. They sure struggle solo and early on as yours did, but it pays off eventually if they can survive those early weak stages. One way to do it, is by having a party or a companion that can tank for them. As for your character, he should consider that while he becomes a better combatant (DEX monk without weapon finesse until 3), then he needs help of others or be really really careful to not die. You can min max as much as you want, but choices have consequences, and of course high and low modifiers should be portrayed in RP to some extent. Edit!: He however is right that a monk with more STR and CON will have an easier time early on than yours.

Edit!: He however is right that a monk with more STR and CON will have an easier time early on than yours. You make a good point on the needing others point. That's why I spent a LOT of time RP ing, trying to get help from others. I was pretty much almost forced to solo. Also if I was a min max freak, I would start with 8's in every stat except 20 in Dex, 18 Wis. But Str 10, con 10, Dex 18, Int 12, WIS 16, Cha 8 is pretty decent, ok for a Dex, AC Monk, and only a little min, maxy. Yeah your right that a str, con Monk is better at 1ev 1, maybe probably even lev 2, but once get to maybe level 2, probably lev 3, and definately by Lev 4, the Dex, AC Monk is better then Str, Con Monk, IF have Weapon Finesse. If dont have weapon Finesse Str, Con Monk either equal at worst, better. Also Str, Con Monk better be very good at hitting, doing damage, in combination with having lots of HP, because if Str, Con Monk, is not good enough at hitting, doing damage then Str, Con Monk's AC of 14,15, will be hit so often, that even with more HP's they can be easily killed, if they dont kill quickly enough, or if they run into a horde. The advantage of Dex Monk combined with Ranger Two Weapon Fighting, is that str doesnt help AC. It helps only to hit, damage, whereas Dex helps to hit, AC. This makes it so that a Dex Monk/Ranger gets lots of attacks at a high to hit bonus, because of weapon finesse, while using that for AC as well. Also str, Con Monks have crap reflex saves so take things like 50 to 75 to 100 point area of effect damage, that the Dex Monk will usually avoid. But yes in the beginning a Dex Monk is HARDER. Right now the Monk is at Lev 3 with Weapon Finesse and would be crushing the Crypt, ruins, solo, if not for catching disease. A level 3 toon that was with Lev 3 monk, had to leave because couldnt handle Dungeon. And once that lev 3 toon left, the lev 3 weapon finesse Dex Monk easily handled the Crypt, Ruins dungeons solo. But before level 3, it was extremely hard for the level 1,2 Dex Monk.

The point is, that you should not be thinking about builds, but characters. Yes, it would be better to sart the game as Ranger for the AB and other perks, but then how do you explain that this Ranger became a Monk from level 1 to 2? Did he really all of a sudden knew how to channel and harnness ki after killing rats and bashing skeletons in a crypt? Now, if he joins a monastic order, or if a more experienced monk helps to train him, that is ok, but if no monk or order trained him, then how? Your missing the point I was making to MTG. His point was that if dont have higher str, higher con, then your build is not good. His point is not valid because: 1. IF IF IF start out as lev 1 ranger, get weapon finesse, then Multiclass Monk, your 10 str, 10 con toon will be just fine. 2. IF start monk, no get Weapon Finesse until 3rd level, then of course your 10 str, 10 con, 18 dex toon will struggle until 3,4 level, at, after which point will be just fine. 3. The point was not to complain. OF COURSE WHAT YOU ARE SAYING, THE POINT YOU ARE MAKING IS, WAS RIGHT. 4. But your right point on, about RP, had to be put aside to GAME MECHANICALLY show why MTG's point of needing a higher str, Con, was wrong. 5. Yeah your absolutly right on your RP point. But I was also right in saying that the ONLY reason that GAME MECHANICALLY, I was struggling for 2,3 Levels, is because didnt have weapon Finesse, NOT BECAUSE I SUPPOSEDLY DID NOT HAVE A HIGH ENOUGH STR, CON. 6. The point I was making to MTG, is that IF IF IF had been able to start with ranger level 1, weapon finesse, multiclass to monk, that IF DID THAT, THAT GAME MECHANICALLY WOULD NOT HAVE STRUGGLED FOR 2,3 LEVELS, WITH A 10 STR, 10 CON. 7. The point was not to make a point, say I think that should do something that makes no sense RP wise as you put it. 8. The point was to show MTG that his point about needing a higher str, con then a 10 str, 10 con was flawed, and why it was flawed. 9. You apparently missed that point, and instead chose to focus on the starting with Ranger level 1, Weapon Finesse, multiclassing Monk part, instead of seeing the rebutting of MTG's point. No. I didn't say it was wrong. You play how you want to. If you put a 10 in Con then don't be surprised when you get killed by a rat. Also don't spam the boards when you do. I was pointing you to a place where you can discuss your build that is specific for this PW, and survive rats (and everything else) at early levels. That's all. Not saying you are "wrong". Please pay attention to what others type when they respond to you.

I posted this thread to report what I was doing, get clarification, ruling on, about the rule, on about what I reported what I was doing. But somehow, some have misunderstood, that or I did not communicate well, and because of that some have errantly thought the purpose of thread was to BITCH. Yes I posted 1, or 2, or 3 complainative threads, but its hyperbole, exaggeration, to either say, suggest that either ALL, MOST, etc, of my threads, comments, including this one, have been BITCHING. Most of my threads, comments, have been to either ask for help, tips, to learn something that did not know, for clarification, etc, as a new player, getting adjusted too, learning this PW, etc. If I make or were to make a thread that either BITCHES or made with purpose to BITCH, THEN your point would be valid, and would be ok to post your point, comment in that kind of thread, comment, NOT this thread that wasnt created to BITCH, Your point really does not belong in this thread. That said you made your point. Now I, the thread did what it was supposed to do, and that is report what I was doing, get clarification, get ruling. And I have gotten that clarification, ruling, and I have accepted, followed, obeyed, etc, that clarification, ruling, and will continue to do so.

Sound like a freaking broken record on about what I just said above, as I have said what I have just said above many times.
But still, despite that some continue to misunderstand. One would think they would get it by now.

You've made over seventy posts, and you registered to these forums less than a week ago. That you claim none of your threads were ranting doesn't matter; your behavior has spoken for itself. What's more, you're being very rude to someone who has made an effort to help you, whether they have 'understood' you or not. Please stop that.

spending HOURS OF REAL TIME ROLEPLAYING trying to CONVERSE, look for work, jobs, join a party, etc, and do NOTHING but trying to do that UNSUCCESSFULLY for HOURS IN REAL TIME HOURS, GETTING BORED TO TEARS Don't waste your time. Help yourself. Character, who can not contribute into party, is useless for party. In fact, even if server is strong RP oriented, experience and gold gives only for kill. It cause some vicious conflict between idea and reality. So, you are doomed to start alone. In fact, there are a lot of characters who can help you, but it is depend even not to your role-play, but to your (not your character) conversation talants. Everything is like in real life. About solo. Do not try to visit caves. You will be cought in melee, but melee is strictly prohibited for you. Order range weapon and hunt in open place of first location south GG. In case of danger, run to GG. Do not neglect harmless creatures. It is not yours situation to be very generous. Deer give enough much experience on low level to grow a little by a little. Badger is also not bad prey, but a little more dangerous. PS: Try to communicate with any of my characters independing of his level. We can manage how to help you.

You've made over seventy posts, and you registered to these forums less than a week ago. That you claim none of your threads were ranting doesn't matter; Break: Mike: Reading Comprehension Fail: That or Communication on my part Fail: I did NOT say that NONE of my threads were ranting. I said only about 1,2,3 or 2,3,4, some of my threads were ranting, and that a couple, few, some were ranting, but that some to most were not ranting, but that not all, not most were ranting. Your SEEMING supposed insinuation that supposedly ALL or MOST of the 70 post are, were ranting, is WRONG. I have made about 7 to 13 threads, and about 3 to 9 post per thread, and about 3 to 5 post on about 3 to 5 of other people's threads. Only about 2,3,4 threads, and only about 9 to 17 post out of the 70 post have been Rants, complaining etc. You errantly make it out to be 13 threads, 70 post that have ranted, complained. You are full of hyperbole, exaggeration, and you are misperceiving, misunderstanding, not comprehending. End. Tingly: your behavior has spoken for itself. What's more, you're being very rude to someone who has made an effort to help you, whether they have 'understood' you or not. Please stop that. He may have been trying to help, but he wasnt helping. Also I was RIGHT in what I told him: His and your comment, and others like yours DOES NOT BELONG IN THIS THREAD. Now if those comments had been said in the 2,3,4 threads, 9 to 17 out of 70 post that were ranting, THEN THOSE COMMENTS MAY HAVE BEEN APPROPIATE AND MAY HAVE BELONGED IN THOSE THREADS, POST. BUT NOT THIS THREAD. AND SAYING THAT IS A VALID POINT AND IS NOT RUDE. THIS YOUR COMMENT, AND OTHRRS LIKE IT DOES NOT BELONG HERE. Now if you, others like you want to post a helpful comment, or a clarification on about the clarification, ruling cited, asked for, or if want to ask a question about, ask for a clarification about, ask for a ruling, etc, about, the rule, clarification, ruling, etc, then that ok. Also please see the helpful, appropiate comments on this thread as a contrast to the unhelpful innappropiate comments on this thread like yours and others like yours. Also please stop, desist from making any more unhelpful innappropiate comments like this on this thread, and instead make only helpful appropiate comments on this thread like others have on this thread.

I'm going to lock this thread, the answers were given by some DM's on the original page of the thread and it's gotten a bit out of hand since then.
If anyone has further questions please create a new thread, remain polite and concise when seeking assistance from the community as it helps keep the boards clean and assists the people you're seeking assistance from.
That is all, beware the chill of night when the hunt is afoot.
