I haven't purchased a AD&D book in the past twenty or so years, and they were all 2e books. I DMed in the Forgotten Realms and read tons of the novels, so I have a good feel for the history, but could use some refreshers as well as want to learn more about the core lore. That being said, what books would you recommend that I get? I don't want to go on a buying spree of tons of books, but a few that would be the most helpful would be appreciated. Thanks.

I messaged you in Discord, but since we have new players coming in responding here isn't a bad idea. - FRCS 3.0 - Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting - FnP - Faiths and Pantheons - Players Guide to Faerun 3.5 - Forgotten Realms Races of FaerunStarting those 4 will save you most headaches and time. Additional flavors exist but for what you're wanting to achieve you should begin up there. Side nods... - Grand history of the realm - Book of Vile Darkness - Book of Exalted Deeds - Forgotten Realms - Cormyr, which i believe is 2.0
As with any PC, modest knowledge is encouraged as opposed to making planetary/cosmo masters without substantiated RP to justify what a PC is knowing of their realities scope. Cheers!

LOL .. and how could I forget ... our lovely forums with its Lore of the Lands. frc.proboards.com/board/73/lore-landsI would recommend searching our own threads there before using FR-Wiki material. FR-wiki is not encouraging of segregating Edition's. They tend to layer 2.0 - 5.0 together. The important thing here: we only care for 3.0 - 3.5, with adapted elements from anything else below as deemed fit by creators. Word of caution too, material from Candlekeep Forums rocks, but the contents are not necessarily regarded as cannon for FRC-NwN EE by the DM Team.
