1. If a character simply states that he or she has children, is this a violation of the pregnancy rule? For instance, a new character who claims to have children, or a character who has been away for an extended period comes back and states that they had a child while away. Are these violations? Just out of curiosity, what value is added to the server by this rule? What is it's purpose?
2. It's hard enough to remember which people give their characters names different from what they want to be called. This should be shunned in my opinion. Fine I can wait for an introduction before using the name, I can understand that much. Now this disguise thing has me confused. Under what circumstances are we supposed to assume we can recognize someone? Should we assume that anyone wearing a hood or helmet is unrecognizable?

Under what circumstances are we supposed to assume we can recognize someone? Should we assume that anyone wearing a hood or helmet is unrecognizable? Hi Davice, Question 1: 12. Pregnancy and the roleplay of children are disallowed - Pregnancy can only be used as a tool to retire your character. Pregnancy means Retirement as an adventurer and the end of the player character's story. Otherwise no pregnancies are allowed. Players should likewise not play characters who are themselves minors by the standards of their race. This rule means that characters on FRC can't be pregnant in game, be a parent with young children (minors), or be a child (minor) themselves. The purpose behind the rule is to uphold standards for role-played behavior on FRC. Many of our rules have been put in place through painful lessons learned from the consequences of not having them. In the early days of FRC too many ridiculous things took place by players having pregnant characters or characters with young children. This is an area best avoided in game and as Justicar said (paraphrased) "This is not what FRC is about." If you'd like your character to become a parent, it can be a beautiful ending for your character's adventuring story as they move into the next phase of life and raise their children off-screen for the next 18 game years. The above said, characters on FRC can be parents with children from their backstory who have already grown up, reached the age of majority, and became an adult. Players can and have made characters who are parent and child so long as both players have characters who are grown up adults. Question 2: It's fair to presume you can recognize someone in a helmet or hood if it is someone your character knows well and is wearing things you've seen them in before. If someone your character knows well is covered head to toe in new attire or gear, it's probably better to presume you don't recognize them outright until behavior or speech tips you off. When in doubt, a polite tell to the player asking if the character is in disguise never hurts or a request can be made on the DM Channel. And finally, if a character wishes to be in disguise the roleplay of the character should support this. A well known character acting or speaking as they always do while wearing a disguise has invalidated their own disguise.
