FRC continues its tradition as a Roleplay Persistent World now through the Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition game. The game may be purchased through
Steam store.steampowered.com/app/704450/Neverwinter_Nights_Enhanced_Edition/
Beamdog www.beamdog.com/products/neverwinter-nights-enhanced-edition

In addition, players will need the following custom content installed with their game.
The FRC Custom Hak - Initially a small hak that will expand over time as FRC adopts more custom content.
The Community Expansion Pack - A mainstay of custom content in the Neverwinter Nights community maintained by Amethyst Dragon. FRC currently uses CEP version 2.65. Please note, the CEP hak is quite large and may take a while when downloading it onto a computer for the first time.
All Hak and Tlk files used by FRC will be automagically installed upon logging in through NWNEE Multiplayer. This is handled by the server using NWSync. Special thanks to Niv and the other folks at Beamdog for developing this helpful feature.
Upon clicking to join FRC the server will assess the custom content previously downloaded onto your computer through NWSync.
An assessment of content needed to be downloaded before playing on FRC is provided along with an option to begin downloading or cancel.
This process may take a little while for players downloading FRC content for the first time through NWSync. Feedback at the time of this writing indicates that the download may take between 10 to 40 minutes, depending on internet speed and server traffic.
If the download is interrupted midstream NWSync will continue where it left off upon clicking to rejoin FRC.
Once the large initial package is downloaded, future updates will be smaller and require less time to transfer.
Notification is received that the download is complete.
Finally, players will need to rejoin FRC once the download is complete. That's it - Time to play!
Note: NWSync does not download custom content into the hak and tlk folders where this data has been traditionally placed in NWN. All of the content is downloaded into a new folder called nwsync and the data is installed in a different format. This format enables NWSync to review custom content files on your computer and then only transfer missing files that are needed to join a server instead of the whole package the server offers. This reduces duplication of data and time spent downloading in the long run.
Therefore, to play on FRC the hak and tlk files are no longer required in the traditional hak and tlk folders. If these files are already in the NWNEE hak and tlk folders they may be removed if desired to free up disk space.
However these files are still needed in the hak and tlk folders to use them in the Toolset. Those wishing to use CEP in the Toolset may download CEP manually from the Neverwinter Vault using the link below or subscribe to CEP through Steam.
