Welcome to Forgotten Realms Cormyr!
Forgotten Realms Cormyr or FRC is a roleplaying community who come together to play in the D&D 3.0/3.5 setting of Cormyr the Forest Kingdom in the Forgotten Realms through the Neverwinter Nights multiplayer game medium.
FRC was founded in 2004 by DM’s Justicar and Usurper to provide D&D players with an online roleplay home where a gaming experience can be enjoyed with the feeling of a table top pen-and-paper game. After 14 years FRC is still going strong and we’re happy to have you with us!
A note from FRC's founder, DM Justicar - Creator of FRC
Welcome to Forgotten Realms Cormyr!
FRC is a roleplaying server with a focus on roleplay and character development, with the purpose of creating an exciting and entertaining world that truly feels alive! To this effect, players should try to remain in character at all times. Do not speak out of character (ooc) in party chat or where any other players might be able to see you doing it.
Roleplaying means many things to different people, but it is preferred that you try to act as though you are playing the role of a character in a book or movie. You (through your character), now live the life of a person in a high fantasy setting. He or she does not know about computers, cell phones, +3 weapons of mighty vorpal slaying, and/or anything about experience points or their own 'level'. They do not know about hit points. To your character, hit points represent their own vitality and ability to survive against enormous odds; likewise, experience points are not actual points in your characters mind, but learning gained through experience that eventually lead to your character's better understanding of the world, themselves, and their capabilities.
The intangible ideas of levels, hit points, XP, and "plussed" items are to be expressed in game as your character would try to understand them. They might refer to a +2 Sword as a "very fine weapon" or a "wondrous blade", but wouldn't walk into the local shop and ask for a +2 longsword. Likewise, please try to interact with fellow roleplayers accordingly. Always try to use language that is "classical" in nature. Do not use modern slang under any circumstances.
As a roleplaying server, we must insist that you use a name for your character that is consistent with a fantasy/roleplaying environment. Inappropriate names/characters will be instructed to remake new characters. Remember folks...nouns aren't names. Please do not name or likeness your character after any NPCs or characters from the Forgotten Realms settings or novels, because you just might meet them along the way!
