And not in a good way. Those of you around the country probably just see the reports on the national news but all of Northern California has been blanketed by smoke for over a week now from the biggest wildfire in state history. The Bay Area looks like Beijing, sky is brown and the sun is blotted daily, at ground level visibility gets obscured by haze a few hundred yards away. They say if you breathe outside it's like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. People have been buying face masks like crazy and showing up in the emergency rooms, air quality is so bad. And of course the weather picks right now to be sunny and totally calm, no rain and not even the usual strong ocean breeze. It's expected to be like this through Thanksgiving. So Cal of course has had its own fires going at the same time. We know two families with homes in the affected area, one of their houses was destroyed and the others were evacuated. A city of 25,000 was pretty much wiped off the map and close to a hundred are dead and over a thousand are missing. All thanks to our public utility company with a history of blowing things up (a neighborhood right by where we used to live!) and setting cities on fire. Hopefully it will be broken apart after this.

Air quality in San Francisco is now the worst in the world, surpassing India. So Cal is bad, but nothing like Northern Cal

Wish all my friends there to be safe and sound. Hope the situation will go for the better.
