Aria Blake - She was quite the character, like FRC's version of P.T. Barnum when making the rounds to sell her wares. As a character, she was hilarious to watch, but if she were someone you knew in real life, most would probably find her to be quite annoying and perhaps insufferable.
Wynter - My paladin Tallin got murdered by her a couple of times. Once was during the week when he was murdered three times when he was a low level. Then there was another time that was kind of funny. Wynter saw Tallin walking around with a group of about a half-dozen others entering a dungeon... and proceeded to follow us in and killed everyone. But what she didn't realize was that Tallin was taking some lower levels around to see some areas they hadn't visited before. So Wynter thought they were all around Tallin's level of about 16, but they were really more like level 10. She must have been about level 23. Afterwards, when she found that out, the player panicked because she might get in trouble for griefing.
She kept me sending tells apologizing and handed out a bunch of raise dead scrolls to get everyone back up. It was hilarious.
Alino Mard - Never really ran into him IC, but Seamus and Tallin once travelled together with his alt Serion. I remember that trip being a blast.
Onisha - I will now reveal that she was the first of Tallin's killers in the week of three murders. She had set up an ambush in a cave in the Bramblewood, and she demanded Tallin give her his money. Tallin refused and tried to get away, but she killed him. Then she RPed mutilating his body by cutting designs in it with her blade. If I remember correctly, she drew a pentagram around him in the ground, too.
Lance Merrick - Ah, Lance, buddy of goods and evils alike, sometime clown to all.
He was the one who kind of showed Trenia and Tallin the ropes on FRC. We followed him around quite a bit in the early going. Then when Zodika was a new character, she clung to him a lot, too. Kind of like a little girl hiding behind her mother's skirt.
I remember Lance liked to travel with Blune and Kaij and some others. They had some kind of adventuring group or something.
Zakhary Shepherd - Never really had any IG interactions with him, but there were two things that come to mind. One was the time when he famously ran into town dressed and acting like a noob character. (I think he was epic.) I wasn't around when it happened, but I heard that it was hilarious. Then there was the time when Tallin and Darina Kross were running the Eveningstar crypts together. Things started to get out of hand and we had to run. We scrambled back out of the dungeon at full speed with everything respawning left and right on us on the way. We finally made it back out the door and had to ask Zak, who was on DM duty, to come clean up the mess we had left.
Lucius Blackspur - Only had one run in with him. He was a necromancer and my character Tallin Magerus was a paladin from a family of mages. Lucius verbally took a poke at Tallin for his last name and they jawed a little. But we sent some tells back and forth and the player seemed like he was a really chill guy. All in good fun.
Innovily Akor'Lyme - Inno was quite the character. Not sure how to describe her. She just was.
Celith Kalaben - Never really interacted with Celith, but I remember his alt Rigrin well. Rigrin and Mouse were two hin who used to stand outside next to the fence in front of the inn in Isinhold (Greatgaunt used to be called Isinhold) every day all day long. They were a fixture there for years. Mouse was a rogue and people would give her traps and components they found. She would take the really nice traps and cradle it lovingly in her arms like someone would with a baby.
Edward Lorkus - Tallin's final killer from that week of three murders. But what people don't know (I'm not even sure I told iangallowglas) was that this one was actually planned... by the both of us.
Edward Lorkus was a high-level cleric of Loviatar while Tallin was a paladin of Ilmater at level 8. The player of Lorkus sent me a tell and asked if it was okay to have our characters interact. I told him I was busy at that moment but that we would arrange to have something happen at a later date as that would only be natural considering who our characters were. So a few days later, I sent sent him a tell and we set things up for Tallin to get murdered. Lorkus kidnapped him and then was going to torture him beforehand and the player asks me how much detail do I want to get into with that scene. I told him I'd prefer not to RP it out, so he just basically does a fade to black and I RP that Tallin is dead. Then later on, when Tallin was level 16, he challenged Lorkus to a fight. Lorkus was starting to have a lot of sway and influence over Korista Colt, and even though he didn't really know her that well, Tallin felt like he had an obligation and duty to try to stop it. So they arranged to have a duel. Tallin was a fairly pedestrian build and I knew that he had no chance at all against Lorkus who was probably around level 23 at the time. I was just doing it for IC reasons. But I had a DM or two sending me tells giving me pointers and cheering me on.
So with faithful Ian Gallowglass on standby with raise scroll in hand, Lorkus proceeds to take Tallin down. Ian then steps in, raises Tallin, and the game continues.
Those were the only two interactions I had with Lorkus, but I think they were good examples of handling IC conflict on both our parts.
Anyway, if you're a more recent player on the server, these were probably just some interesting accounts of FRC's past. But if you're an old-timer (maybe from even before me) then maybe the mention of some of these names has brought fond memories to mind and a smile to your face.
