*Two chickens are on the meadow. There is a hawk high up in the sky, circling above them. A fox is hiding in nearby bushes. A group of twelve quails is traveling through tall grass to the spot where chickens are, scouting and moving slowly, one kilometer per hour. The group is exactly one kilometer away. It is a sunny day.
How many birds will be on the meadow in exactly an hour?

How many birds will be on the meadow in exactly an hour? Zero. 1) Hawk grabs chicken 1 and flies off 2) Fox grabs chicken 2 and goes back to its den 3) Quail are just reaching the meadow in exactly 1 hour but are not actually on it yet

No way! It's two! The quails come and chickens say them: "Yo! This place is busy. Go take a hike!", and kick their asses. The hawk goes down - they kick his ass too. The fox shits the bushes full in fear. Chickens stay to enjoy the weather and have their meal.

If one of the quail is scouting slowly, at least six of the remaining dozen will rush ahead.

A group of twelve quails is traveling through tall grass to the spot where chickens are, scouting and moving slowly, one kilometer per hour. The group is exactly one kilometer away. It is a sunny day. How many birds will be on the meadow in exactly an hour? I would say the Hawk only. Why? The fox would try to capture a chicken, so the other would flee. Then, the quails would not continue their way to the meadow if they spot the Hawk.

Is that hawk, DM Hawk? If so, only 1 (the Hawk himself) as he'd have arranged a great adventure for the rest.

I really liked reading all the creative solutions. However default answer is none. The Hawk and the fox would have their feast... And quails simply wouldn't reach the meadow in time...
Anything could happen in an hour though, maybe there would be 10 ostriches...

* A murderer is condemned to death. He can chose how he will be executed. There are three chambers in which execution takes place. The first is full of raging flames, the second is full of assassins with poisoned blades, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 1 year.
What room would you pick?

The one with the dead lions... if they haven't eaten in a year, they starved a long time ago.

Well played.
® A snail is climbing a bamboo plant. Bamboo is 10 metres tall. Every day, from his tip it grows 1 meter in height. During the day, snail climbs up 5 metres, and during the night he slides down 3 metres.

Day 7 is kind of iffy, though... does the snail top the plant at 17m before it finishes growing for the day?

The correct answer is 7 days. Once he reaches the top, he doesn't slide anymore. There is also a mathematical solution to it, but I forgot it.
