I finally made it home after being gone for 2+ hours (tried for 1), and boy am I depressed ... there is so much destruction, and we are the luckier ones of the florida lot. Makes you feel real grateful and appreciative (human). I can't imagine the horror of being in the places that are truly worse.

Kind of worried about Puerto Rico here. not that I know anyone there or ever been, but after Irma they aren't exactly top shape, and now Hurricane Maria is rearing its ugly face to a Cat 3.
Worst case scenario, ocean warm waters will continue to surge the hurricane to greater categories, and then florida is viable to have another major headache - last I checked on the path

God's speed, puerto rico and crew .. Maria has achieved Cat5 status - florida should be fine based on projections

Whew glad to be home high winds and heavy rains. Wind tried to pus the car a bit. Had to take an alternate route as either a tree or some branches fell. Luckily no trees down yet or power outage, though power did go out for how long I do not know as we were not home.

I was out making deliveries in this mess. Was up at a ski resort in West Virginia. Around 1 degree, 40 mph winds, snow whipping around all day. True joy...
EDIT: not to mention how ludicrous a proposition it is to sell ice-cream and other frozen delights in that kinda weather to people. Just after the holidays their most common rebuff of my salesmanship has been "I have no room in my freezer." To which I reply by waving my hand at Auril's blessings outside their door.

Wow... commute would be rough, but I think we've found customers for smacra's ice cream.

We got a lot of rain this week. That's about as dramatic as it gets for weather here in Nor Cal.

Ugh it has been miserably hot in Seattle a week of temperatures near the 90's or at 90. Inside house temperature hovered around 85. May invest in one of those portable units but with luck no heat wave

Thoughts and prayers are with our Floridian Cormyrians and those in the path of this dangerous storm. Best of luck.

I plan to be in later unless the winds start to pick up and I lose power. If I suddenly wink out of game then you will know why.

So.... Mother nature gave us a mild January, Now today we are getting major snow. Can not get out of the house as snow too deep, A neighbor shoveled their driveway and it is full of snow again. This weather should stay on the east coast.
