I love adding to this thread. Funny thing is that I happen to know that this picture is from Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in Japan!

Yeah I know that picture's from Japan too. Still a funny meme.
One year, we were celebrating Christmas at my cousins farm in rural Saskatchewan (Canada). There was so much snow that after we finished plowing the road from the highway to the farm, it looked like that. The snowbank was legit above the cab of the tractors we were using. It was nuts. It was a record snowfall that year mind you.

I do remember winters in Ontario, many moons ago, when the snowbanks were touching the lowest branches on some pretty old maple trees, etc. Usually by mid-November. Rarely see it anymore.

These "Bombers" were invented for Winters in Canada. They can replace the front skis with wheels for summer. styxx

So I'm surviving Winter (and my stomach flu), wondering why people get the 12 days of Christmas wrong. Every single Christmas Movie has the 12 days of Christmas before the Christmas.
The 12 days of Christmas start of course at Christmas Day, which is the FIRST day of Christmas. And then 13th day of Christmas is the Epiphany Day. Duh!!

Husband says they are called "Vässla" here. Never seen one, he says he's drove one.
To me vässla is a type of scooter....

Apparently if you are a bird, you find places with a little warmth.
Husband has been working afternoons/evenings this week. And 2 nights ago, he found a bird sleeping outside our front door, leaning at the door. The bird didn't wake up when he approached. It didn't wake up when he jingled the keys. Finally he managed to wake the birs up, and it flew away making protest noises!!!

How Nordic people do Laundry: LOL. This video is in Sweden (this woman's actual YouTube channel) Her channel is fairly interesting. She lives simply in the north with the forest and the mountains bearby. She also practices "kulning", an old Swedish tradition of calling cows back home. It sounds like song. (Kulning is represented in Frozen, which is kind of fun). Here's her joke on spring
