*paper sent to the Triad to the care of the Grandmaster, and another to Rolo and his employer* Field Report: Assessment of Sustainability of The Stonelands We started out with a warning. That the Banites were looking to slit our throats. Luckily our mutual friend warned us ahead of time. The two surveyors, Master Furin and Master Gardrak, both found inconclusive readings. I've collected a few samples from the stone in the largest cave there to be found, perhaps further tests will find some ore deposits. I was assured by a druid, whom had taken her own survey of the region, that there is water below the rocks, that a Well can be made for both drinking and irrigation. There was plant life in the caves, and aside from roasting giant scorpions, this may be the best form of food. Not directly, of course, but I was told that the Rothes thrive in that environment. A moss farm to sustain a Rothe farm. The only problem being is that a cave would need to be carved out first, near the proposed Barony, and a herd bought from someone, perhaps the dwarfs can broker a deal. This isn't the best of news, but we do hope that some kind of valuable mining can be done in the area, to warrant the endeavor of creating a Barony. From my maps, of which do not compare to yours, i can see a few strategic values in settling such a place. The Dalelands are nearby, and the Netheril also. It could be both a new trading route and a stronghold against any future aggression from the north. The reason to take these lands is still, of course, eliminating the Zhentarim. This may be more troublesome than once thought. I recently had the displeasure of running into a lich within the walls of Eveningstar. I was able to dispatch him, but im sure he wasnt undone. He had orders on him, dictating something that had been found in the Haunted Halls, and that the Zhentarim were there as well. I have further intelligence that The Black Network has infiltrated Cormyrian nobility. As for the warning of an attack upon our party, we were well prepared. Initially it was only the two that we were informed, both sorcerers of great power. We took them both down, the nine strong we were, but there was a third. This third is most certainly an ally or a Banite herself, because she constantly tried to impede us, and at one point managing to rescue her comrade. Further down the road we reclaimed his body together with her's as well. A fourth did appear on the mountain slopes, one of our own engaged her and killed her, but there is no certainty that she played any part in this, she could just as easily been a passerby. The group and I had a disagreement as to what we should do about the bodies. Not wanting to cause too much of a stir and dissent, i relented. Hopefully I was wrong, and victory did not slip past our fingers. Our next incursion will be determined by the number of our group. We need to keep assaulting the outskirts of the Black Keep, but we also need to further assess the threat posed on the west, the former can only be done with a truly fearsome force. In hope, Wurek Penchant //thanks everyone who participated, even the eevil ones. hope you had fun. till next week!

Field Report: Assessing The Strength of the Zhentarim
For the second week now, the Zhentarim were found within Eveningstar's walls.
Their force consists of a Zhentarim Necromancer, who refuses to die, at least one lich, a few blackguards and a host of vampires and dead Zhents.
This is an army, and one that is being consistently supplied with more bodies. If it were to rise up following an attack on Eveningstar's gates, it would be catastrophic. I do not think they town would hold. Our pressure on the Zhentarim of the Stonelands may be keeping them from attacking, for now. But if we were to withdraw from this campaign, I'm sure some kind of disaster would befall Eveningstar.
We have yet to gain enough support to mount any kind of major offensive on the Stonelands, but perhaps something could be done about Eveningstar.
We still wait on word from the Regent, a show of support, troops perhaps, so far we've only met with silence.
The Ironsworn test my patience. Tho payment was offered for their services, they have refused to get involved. Their reason given sounds like lies. What kind of mercenary group refuses good pay against the more loathed and hated of all our enemies? Specially when they could tip the balance of power in the favor of the Kingdom. Why do they refuse? Cowardice or are they traitors? I seek your advice on this, to know what part of the law they claim keeps them from joining the Campaign. The answer to that may be very surprising and informative as to their real goals and alliances. The Black Network within a mercenary group? Wouldn't be a surprise.
Yours in trust,
Wurek Penchant *an eight pointed golden star within a black circle*

//letter sent to the Grandmaster of the Triadic Keep. Part I Field Report: Assault on The Black Keep What we banded together formed a strong group. With this we decided to raid the Keep proper. Amongst us was Sir Ahmed, a thayan knight. He had fought the banites beside us before, was himself felled by one in our last incursion. I hope this does not find you in ill will. Tho a thayan, he should not be dismissed as one, for there are thayans who deserve and serve honor. Not all of them should be taken as enemies, in my mind and in this quest, but should be given a chance to prove themselves. We had also to continue our search for minerals, food and water within the Stonelands, as well as discovering how the Black Keep is supplied. Luckily we had a druid amongst us, to scout out the terrain, and some good eyes to search thru. We started out by raiding and burning down the two goblin forts that guarde the pass but not before searching the place. We found wagons and timber, suggesting that there is a supply line running from somewhere. We also found, amongst the many geysers, a pool of water that came from deep in the ground. This further confirmed the report we had received earlier by a druid of fresh water below the rocks. *letter continues below*

//letter sent to the Grandmaster of the Triadic Keep. Part II We breached the Keep's outer walls with ease, tho it should be noted that even amongst their simple guards, they are immune to any non-magical weapon. Tasha The Unproven mentioned how devastating this can be if they went against a town's militia or regular guards. They were not prepared for such an assault. We found two large stables, caravans and many crates. We searched thru them to find out what was there, where had it come from. Our preliminary reports on this will be sent to you soon, but it is safe to say that they are being supplied here as well. If we can find this out, we may be able to cut the line and let them starve. We also searched thru the supplies inside the Keep. Once inside, we made our way to the dungeon, looking to free prisoners. We found one still alive, but the rest were torn to shreds, in a brutal, ritualistic fashion. As we made our way, it became clear that their elite guards were holed up deep inside the Keep. But at that depth the ground looked extremely unstable, with huge pillars being swallowed whole by the lake of melted rock. We found several captains and champions, two commanders that we barely manage to dispatch, and their leader itself. Apparently it was only a vessel and not a true person. A wizard identified by one of our own as a major figure amongst the Banites. Upon him we found a letter and discovered his name and that of his master. I have copied it here for you. This confirms our earlier reports of an imminent threat to Eveningstar, and it is being overseen by an arch-mage of great influence. The town is already surrounded by the Zhentarim. With confirmed threats to the northwest in the Haunted Halls, north to the Stonelands, and even inside their gates, beneath the crypts. The Triadic Keep is in close proximity to the orcs, and they have siege weapons amassing. It is unlikely that both would survive the imminent assault. They will strike, so we must strike first. This was a raid on their Keep but they'll return. I ask for immediate aid, both by the Crown and by you, please send any help you can afford. I'll continue the campaign with the heroes i have with me already, but I don't think it will be enough, specially if the Dragon we heard of is an ally of theirs. Yours in trust, Wurek Penchant *a golden eight pointed star within a black circle* //fun times, thanks to everyone who participated.

//Letter sent to Grandmaster of the Triad and another sent to a secret location FIeld Report: The Shadow Menace We were able to form a strong group with the help of our Triadic friends, old allies and even a thayan. We cut thru the Stonelands and headed westward, to the Shadow Tower that looms over the territory there. The Zhentarim goblins spies were everywhere, but they kept a certain distance from the tower itself. Once inside, what we faced was of supernatural strength. The Tower guards moved like shadow and they were extremely well trained masters of blade. We were looking for any connection to the Zhentarim, any form of an alliance or even just communication. We found none, and it is likely that the two groups work independently, or even in competition for the scant resources. The Shadow Tower soars above the landscape, the only apparent unholy symbol we discovered once inside resembled this *a crude drawing* Perhaps you can make out its meaning. Atop the tower was the rumored dragon. I'll say little of it, because our time was short. She was ferocious and cunning. Our battle with this likely ancient dragon was a stalemate, one she would have won eventually. I called for the retreat and our party made haste out of that accursed place. Despite our retreat, we did accomplish our goal. My advice is to stay well clear of this tower and its dragon. It would take an army to bring her down. Perhaps if we show no further hostility it will leave the rest of the Stonelands in relative peace. A long term solution would be needed of course, but one would need to consider the task carefully. We should keep our focus on the Zhentarim Banites. Yours in trust, Wurek Penchant *an eight pointed golden star within a black circle*

//WARNING! This thread contain a great deal of spoilers on the quests surrounding the Stonelands and Eveningstar. If you cant help but be a metagamer do not read any further. If you are true to your IC and OOC info and can handle OOC spoilers, this thread follows the effort of several players trying to make a difference in that region. *letter sent to the Grandmaster of the Triad Keep and another to an unknown* //SPOILERS
Field Report: Attempt to Cleanse Eveningstar
Our heroes are tired. They have labored for a long time now with little help from the Crown and others. Some have fled the scene, scared away by the Banite threat, by it's champions. As long as I draw breath I'll continue to the last. I'll burn every mile that they walk.
Supplies are low. Morale is low. At times like these that I wish I could find a real leader to set us on course. To find that ambition to make a Barony out of a desolate land. At least we still have our purpose. The Fellowship must not fail. Perhaps if we are patient help will arrive soon. By my reckoning our allies are stretched thin and worn like us, we need to buy more time so that they can regain the strength and will to join our cause. I know this.
We entered the crypts again today. It was awful. Bodies everywhere, some just laying there, but most were walking about. In the span of just a few days, the Banite necromancers have rebuilt their army, and it lies right beneath the town, waiting for something, the right moment. Do we give them the benefit of deciding when to fight us?
I've sent a letter to Lady Winter. I hope she will heed our warning.
farewell for now,
Wurek Penchant

//letter sent to the Grandmaster of the Triadic Keep, to Lady WInter and to an Unkown
Field Report: The Gnoll Threat and The Wait
I have scouted out the entire Frost Gnoll territory. They are great in number, but very weak in leadership. Let me remind you now that the orcs of the Stonelands, but more telling, the goblins of that region are incredibly strong when compared to their lesser brothers elsewhere in the kingdom. The difference comes from the intervention of the Zhentarim. If the Frost Gnolls were to come to a similar circumstance and were aided and lead by the Zhentarim, they would be more fierce than the Stonelands goblins and orcs. Heed this warning, watch them closely.
This will be my final report for awhile. I've seen our numbers swell and now drop drastically. We were all hoping for support from the local authorities and the Crown itself, perhaps a guild or two to join our holy cause, but when this did not come, our own became disillusioned, seeing no chance at real victory. And let it be known that we have never failed one quest, one incursion, though at times the odds were against us.
I never wanted to lead anyone. I just saw something that needed attention and tried to make others see it too. Perhaps someday a real leader will emerge or a day when war comes and one cannot simply stand idly by. I now make Eveningstar my home, coming and going, patrolling the frozen lands of the north alone. Seek me there when the time comes, there will I wait.
Yours in Trust,
Wurek Penchant *a golden eight pointed star within a black circle*

Dear Sirs and Madams,
We are holding a discussion on the future of the Stonelands, the town of Eveningstar, and the Triadic Order. If you wish to have your voice heard, you are welcome to attend.
This will be a discussion on the many threats facing these three factions, and how we can stabilize the region.
We are still looking for someone with both the ambition and the means to settle those harsh lands.
