A knigtly looking man dismounts his horse at the gates to the Enclave. His nerves are of steel, yet he cant help but fidget with a key underneath his cloak. He proceeds to visit the local grocery, the merchants and the inn, until finally stopping at the shrine of Bane. He prays to Torm to go undiscovered and enter the shrine. Tholara, the priestess, after greeting him and refusing to answer the question of where the temple of Bane is found, gestures for him to pray to the dark god. The black clad man indeed prays in front of the shrine, tho not Bane, but to Ao, preferring not to call upon Torm in such a presence. He never looks directly at the altar, merely scans its edges at most. He tries to persuade the priestess to reveal the location of the temple, but she is strong willed and instead diverts him away from the question. He demands it, at one point, which nearly erupts into a battle. Not knowing exactly how the Banites deal with each other, he quiets his temper. she points to the door, telling him to leave and to return only once proven worthy. Before he goes he asks what gift would Bane want, and she tells him in a cold tone, "the still beating heart of a celestial! the head of a Tormite!" he leaves before becoming known, he exits the shrine and offers silent thanks to the powers of good that kept him from being discovered. He does not leave unscathed, but marred by the shrine itself, which tore at his soul during the many words exchanged, those of deceit and near blasphemy, as he had to tend to his words carefully, looking to walk between the two sides.
