Mynian Copperhand (Pronounced min-ē-an) Mynian's Personal Insignia and Makers Mark Embroidered on all her works created by High Herald Gender: Female Race: Half-elf Height: 5' 4 1/2" (163cm) Body Type: Svelte Skin: Light tan Hair: Black Eyes: Dark Brown Age Appearance: Human equivalent of someone in their mid 30s.
Finer Details: Her hair is slightly wavy with the length to tops of her shoulders. One cowlick of hair has a tendency to fall into her eyes. She goes mostly without makeup. Clean looking. There is a slight upturning of the corners of her eyes with the size leaning more toward the human range than it does elven. The majority of her height is in her legs.
Perceived Heritage: Looks more human than half-elven. The points of her ears and size of her eyes are not as pronounced as other half-elves are. She has a distinct lack of elven mannerisms and very rarely speaks another language other than common.
Dressing Habits: Her clothing styles lean towards human nobility or the richer merchant classes, but never into the realm of gaudy. If the outfit is not already close-necked she will wear a choker or something to cover it. Under the covering, unseen, she wears a thin metal lining. She's almost never seen without her biceps covered up. She'll wear small bits of jewelry from time to time, mostly when it matches the outfit.
Basic IC Information (things that can be found out just by talking with commoners, no lore check needed):
- She hails from Luskan
- In Valkur's Roar and some of the Western Reaches she's known by the populous as the former Minister of The City Interior of Valkur's Roar. She owns The Three Chimneys establishment. Outside of Valkur's Roar she is still more known for her talents as a tailor, dressmaker, seamstress, songstress, and merchant.
Deeper Information (Can maybe find out via RP)
Age: Has survived 58-ish winters. Exact birth date unknown. She marks Tarsakh 1 as a "cycle successfully survived". Actual Heritage: Born from the pairing of two half-elves. Her elven, human (or otherwise) bloodlines have never been defined. She's never met her father. She's estranged from her mother. [Mynian was created back in 2006 before the Character Creation Rules were established that it needs to be one elven and one human parent. Her parental line was grandfathered in.]
Other Details:
- Her ties to Luskan continue to diminish year after year and while she has "family" back there, they're loyal to her "brother" Aeden Turn.
- She lived for a time in The Silver Marches. Her ties there are fairly non-existent now, though perhaps some individuals recall a "Copperhand" who used to run the short lived Marches Trading Association there.
----- DM Centric Info Below This Point, Do Not Metagame Info for Your Character---- For her full history go here. She is a legacy character created in 2006 and her .bic file on the server is her original file. You can also take a look at her journal or some moments in between. Mechanics:In terms of mechanics, for a level 22 Mynian is built very poorly. I initially leveled her up on the concept of a "Pure RP" build, something that doesn't work on FRC anymore. Her skills and abilities are not optimized for standard dungeon/encounter play and she does not have the typical Feats or spells you would expect for the classes she has. Add to it that 80 to 90% of her XP was earned through DM given RP XP over the years -- meaning she did not have loot drops along the way to match her levels as she went -- and you have a severely under equipped epic level character. Even with her best gear on, should a CR 10 or above encounter be dropped on her, she will 100% die if she's unable to flee. Her AB and/or spell modifiers sees her doing little to no damage, making her undesirable to bring into a group. I mention all this to make sure any E/DMs reading will understand that until I can somehow resolve her issues without a rebuild, getting Mynian involved in a combat centric situation will lead to unsatisfying outcomes. Finer Details:- She possesses several scars. Some of them old. Some of them newer. One long diagonal scar across her left hip - assassination attempt. One small vertical scar above her right elbow - an arrow from an undead archer during the days of the Silent Dominion. A cross shaped scar upon her right forearm, barely visible - a necrotic cyst that was removed ((8/24/2019, EDM Plotter plot)). A scar is on the left side of her abdomen, a splotch as if someone plunged and then twisted a blade into her - torture and assassination attempt ((7/6/2020, PVP driven, based off plot)). - There are two tattoos she bears that she earned from her early Luskan days. They've faded a bit over the years and she generally keeps them covered up. On her left bicep is a black cat with brownish-red eyes walking down her arm with a dagger in its maw. On her right bicep is a caricature of a grey wolf wearing dapper clothing. It's on its hind legs sporting a wide brimmed feathered hat, a cane with a large purple jewel atop it, and one of the fangs in its grin is a gold capped tooth. The wolf is more of a gang emblem that her Uncle's lads ran with. - Due to her repeated encountered with vampires of all sorts over the years, Mynian habitually carries garlic, a wooden stake, and holy water. The thin metal lining she always wears about her neck is also because of vampires. While she knows it won't ultimately stop a vampire, if it buys her a few seconds time before being bitten, she'll take it. ((Encounters mostly done by DM Munroe)) - Mynian likes to go fishing. It's something she picked up when she was in the Silver Marches and resided near the rivertowns there. She finds it relaxing and considers it to be an expression of Tymora's faith. "Yeh c'n fish one day 'n pull up six fish in less than two bells. Come back latah ta tha same exact spot, same exact time o' day, same exact weather 'n water conditions, usin' tha same bait 'n techniques, 'n not get a single nibble tha entire day. Tha' ain't fer nature, tha's nay fer a lack o' skill, tha's jus' pure luck."Heritage Notes: Her non-existent ties with her mother and father have left her completely ignorant of her heritage. She knows her mother comes from a "respected family" in Waterdeep and that her surname Copperhand comes from her father. Though it's heavily assumed the name was an alias. Her Elven heritage is a complete blank. One small potential clue to her bloodline is that her bardic spells are heavily innate. She's only capable of casting healing, curative/restorative, or spells based on sound (Amplify, Silence, Sound Burst, Wounding Whispers). Mynian has been somewhat fearful to find out why her bardic spells are limited and she covers up the inadequacy by casting other spells in the book learned way (Wizard). I did consider retconning her mother being full human and her father being full elven. However, part of her mental makeup does stem from the fact that she is a "mutt". She has pride in the fact that she can't be narrowed down by hereditary labels and that people have to judge her based on merit instead of her race. Yet she simultaneously feels a lack of self worth because of not knowing where she really comes from. On one hand she can dismissively wave off any racial judgements held against her, but on the other be a bit envious of those who can proudly say they were born into something and belong to it. When she hears others go on about their bloodlines or family ties, all that flashes through her mind is her childhood on the streets as a waif while her mother worked at a brothel. Nothing more than "a bastard of a bastard." E/DM Hook: Some aspect of Mynian's heritage crops up. Maybe someone looking for her father, someone from her mother's human side manages to track her down for some reason, or some sort of elven type of contact is made... or something else completely unexpected. Current Personal Goals:- Multiple goals listed under her in-game Info. If you need me to PM it to you, let me know. - Continue to finalize any items with the Valkur's Roar council, this mostly having to do with the Last Will and Testament for Arician the Blue. Current status is to inquire on two matters in the middle of next year if she hears nothing back from the council by then (set date June 1st). Matter 1: Donated funds for use in gardens and/or libraries. Matter 2: Use of Rainbow Gem. - Continue to attempt being a traveling merchant, setting up stalls in various towns, establishing a regular "route", and selling wares. - Try to avoid the sort of trouble that got her involved with the likes of Vindel Allow, the Wild Magic affair, and Cloudstone . . . try.- Continue to study magic and increase her knowledge of it (aiming for more Wizard levels). Will also work on her bow arm to get some of her martial abilities back. - Potentially attempt to occasionally adventure to try and regain some of her losses due to paying fines for her past crimes (most notably the 100,000 lions for the kidnapping and torture fines). SIDE NOTE: Current Master Bard of the Unicorn's Door Inn -> Marcus Thorne as of 2/27/2022

Short History:
Mynian Copperhand didn't have the purest of upbringings. As a half-elf born to a poor woman in Luskan, she fended for herself until the age of 8 and began to live with a man named Marl Meade. It was from him that she learned the craft of tailoring and other less savory skills.
At 20 she left Luskan behind and wandered until she came to the small fishing village of Rivermoot in the Silver Marches. It was in the Marches that she established herself as a merchant and seamstress of some renown. After surviving the Time of Troubles in 1358 DR, she helped fully establish the Marches Trading Association, a merchant guild with aims to share their wealth with the poor and impoverished.
In 1367 DR, Mynian disappeared from Silverymoon and the Silver Marches. The Marches Trading Association was disbanded under allegations of black market dealings, extortion, blackmail, bribery of a noble, and illegal practice of necromancy.
Three years later, she arrived at the village of Isinhold (now Greatgaunt) in Cormyr. Having taken up musical practice on the road she established herself as a seamstress and songstress.
During the Western Reaches Accord, Mynian resided in Redmist initially as a barmaid at Talbot's Tavern. She somehow elevated to the position of Minister of Commerce for a short time before having a bounty placed on her head by Lord Bloodstil and the Scarlet Guard. At the same time she took part in the establishment of the Alizarin Academy of Bardic and Arcane Lore.
In 1373 DR, she disappeared from Cormyr.
Mid 1379 DR, Mynian returned to Cormyr for a few moonturnings before disappearing again.
In 1383 she returned, her aim to open a shop in Valkur's Roar. This was sidetracked by her getting involved in curing a Wild Magic issue that was centered around Zorastryl Keep in West Isinhold.
At the beginning of 1384 DR, for assisting with the curing of the Wild Magic she was offered the position of Minister of the City Interior of Valkur's Roar. She accepted the offer.
Near the end of 1386 DR, she procured a place for her business in Valkur's Roar, and -- amid a dire time for the city -- opened up her shop The Three Chimneys quietly at the start of 1387. That same year, she was released from her position as Minister and punished for a list of grievances.

Art Depicting What I or Others Think Myn Looks Like
These are not exact and are just here to help players paint a better picture of Mynian. I'm slowly, but surely, trying to find the original sources for all these pictures. If anyone happens to find the source please PM me with the details.
Side Note: I've always imagined Mynian to look something like Audrey Hepburn in her prime during the 1960's. Attitude and looks wise I also pull from Hedy Lamarr.
In her younger days in Luskan before she got the tattoos. From an artist known as Hito76Putting on a performance somewhere in Cormyr. Mynian in finer noble wear. Perhaps on the day the red mists came in from the Isle of Ashen Winds into Valurk's Roar? Close, though perhaps too elf-ish. Something more understated she might wear. All gussied up with make up and jewelry. Must be a party. Not a youngster. Something only those close to her heart get to see. Close, just missing the half-elf ears and scar on the left side of her neck. By DashinvaineFrom the Heroes of Avalon game "Bard" card, just needs black hair and slightly pointed ears and it's a match. Hair needs to be black, but this is close.

Mynian's Critters A list of animal friends that Mynian has as companions. Done in order that she's received them. Information under spoiler tags for E/DM eyes only. Dalia Raven Familiar Some in the adventuring communities might recognize this raven as being Mynian's "messenger bird". With her unique burgundy colored shoulder feathers and Myn-ish sounding vocalizations of "Cor!" it's easy to see who she's the familiar of. Often about with a message tied to her leg or a scroll case tethered to her back, Dalia comes to people always with a purpose.
Due to Dalia's more work-like nature, one can describe her personality as being aloof or (more accurately) disgruntled. Understanding that many of her master's messages are time sensitive and secretive in nature, she doesn't begrudge having to make the journeys she does. That doesn't mean that she can't be annoyed over having to fly through nasty weather conditions or at night to not be seen by spying eyes.
She will be distant, but polite, when delivering messages and will certainly not turn away a tasty treat when offered.
Dalia has been worried about her master in these last several years. Feeling the distance Mynian has been putting between herself and those she used to considered allies, yet feeling the hurt and understanding why she does, leaves Dalia few options. All she can do at this point is to hope her master senses her worry and understands that not all is lost. For now, another message is flown out.
Miss Snippet Crab o' Combat
Rarely seen, Mynian summons a large blue crab from a water filled crystal orb. It aids her by distracting her targets, getting them entangled in its claws, allowing her to shoot her bow at them at a distance.
Miss Snippet becoming a summoned creature for her is something that even Mynian isn't sure how it completely happened. As far as she's aware Miss Snippet is a crab who resides at the docks in Valkur's Roar just behind the Wild Magic Museum. During the museum's construction, the crab started to reside within the wooden debris that was being collected by the docks. As the situation involved an abandoned shrine of Umberlee, the construction and dock workers were loathe to remove the crab, fearing punishment from the Sea Queen. During her inspections of the building site, Mynian had dubbed her "Miss Snippet" and the name apparently stuck. Eventually, they'd used the remaining debris and construction wood to make a small shack for the crab. Every so often, Mynian could be seen leaving left over fish guts or other less-than-appetizing fish bits in the shack for her to dine upon. During Shieldmeet of 1384, Mynian placed second in the fishing competition. The prize was an "Enchanted Fishbowl". Though it was more orb than bowl and the intricate gold runes across the clear surface and swirling waters inside definitely spoke of magic. However, Mynian had trouble activating the orb. The magic runes were a bit vague and her attempts to cast kept meeting with failure. After figuring out she had mistranslated one phrasing of the runes, she was finally able to bring the magic forth, but what was summoned was a surprise. Now giant in size, Miss Snippet was a crab to contend with. Far hardier and with a very thick shell, little seemed to scare the crustacean. Though only being able to be summoned for a set period of time, Miss Snippet makes the best use of it, not hesitating to immediately eat whatever non-humanoid foe that falls to the ground. It is something that Mynian does find a little disconcerting, but the pros outweigh the cons. Truthfully, Mynian isn't completely certain if the crab that is summoned really is the same one that appears by the shack. Not wanting to look a gift crab from the Sea Queen in the mouth, she continues to leave fish bits for her at every opportunity.
Fortuna Lucky Steed
A dapple gray war horse that was purchased in Tyrluk. Mynian uses her often when traveling between towns in the Western Reaches and has been known to travel with her as far a Suzail. Kept in the Northern Stables in Valkur's Roar, this horse seems almost too large for the seamstress to be riding.
Mynian received reward money from a particular noble for accomplishing a task. Not wanting to hold on to the funds for long, she decided to use it to buy herself something she'd long been speaking about. When she was looking over the available horses in Tyrluk she asked the stableman which horse was "sturdy, but easy to ride". Fortuna was the horse that was pointed out.
The horse used to belong to a retired Purple Dragon Knight. The knight's request was that Fortuna go to someone who would not ride her into battle, but also not put her to pasture as she was still too young for that. When Mynian heard the horse's name which meant "for luck" in ancient Chondothan, she took it as a sign that this was the horse for her.
And she was right as so far Fortuna has saved her twice.
Once, riding down from Cloudstone, almost overwhelmed by the ettins and giants, Mynian passed out from a glancing blow. Fortuna carried her all the way down the mountain to the Purple Dragon's station at it's base and saved her.
The second was when Mynian spurred her to a full gallop along the road in a moment of grief and anger. Sensing her rider in distress, she did as trained, and slowed to a stop. Mynian pulled on her reigns, yelled, and shouted at Fortuna for not budging. After her energy was spent and all she could do was kneel on the ground sobbing, Fortuna stood guard over her until her tears were dry.
Soot Shoulder Cat
A common domesticated house cat with black fur and yellow eyes. She's often seen in Valkur's Roar in and around the Three Chimneys establishment. It also isn't unusual to see this cat perched upon Mynian's shoulder and lingering around her while she sells her wares in various cities and towns. She is a healthy looking creature with all the earmarks of your standard Cormyrian breed.
She can be sometimes seen slinking back to the Three Chimneys in the twilight hours with a caught mouse, bird, or rat between her teeth.
Mynian received this cat as a gift from her fiancé, Frocino Medini, not long after his daughter was wed to a Silverthorn noble. She had asked him how he'd felt now that his daughter wasn't around. He'd mentioned that his daughter had even taken the cat up to Cloudstone with her which made the house doubly empty. After suggesting that he should get a cat himself, he turned the question around and asked her what sort of color cat she would get. A tenday later he introduced her to a black cat. Mynian named her Soot.
At the time she did not have a permanent place to reside, so she asked Frocino to keep hold of Soot until she could open her shop. Unfortunately, Frocino was falsely accused of poisoning the Cloudstone nobles and, despite the proof showing otherwise, was executed for it by Fergus Hornbow. It wasn't until after the fall of Cloudstone that Frocino's daughter finally handed Soot over to Mynian to take care of.
Soot had resided in the Great Hall of Valkur's Roar for a time, being a quick and quiet mouser. Though she wasn't too proud to not warm up to a guard or two who would be willing to give her a treat. When Mynian moved to the Three Chimneys, Soot went with her.
Like your typical cat, she does like to lounge around, get fed regularly, and play or hunt when she feels like it. Though Soot is under the impression that her two-footed companion doesn't hunt nearly enough and makes a point of showing her what sorts of things to hunt by placing it under the desk she sits at all the time. One of these times Soot hopes her companion will actually eat it instead of throwing it away. Time will tell.
Theocritus Tressym of Valkur's Roar
A very recent addition to the Three Chimney's residents, Theocritus can be seen sometimes walking the rooftops of Valkur's Roar around the Northwest Quarter. With black fur, green eyes, white chest and paws, and black feathered wings, he sticks out among the dingy roof tiles.
Mynian won a raffle at the Winter Solstice Festival held in Eveningstar in 1387. Within the box, tucked away between delicious pies and drinks, was a document that allowed her to adopt, of all things, a tressym. Somewhat stunned, Mynian spent a couple of days in Eveningstar to await meeting her new companion.
It was explained to her that this particular tressym wanted to be adopted and gave no explanation as to why. Who were they to refute it? Mynian was told his name and she left with him for Valkur's Roar.
So far she's discovered that Theocritus, or Theo for short, recognizes Soot as the matriarch of the house and gives her full respects. That he's a picky eater, preferring shredded and de-boned fish over everything else, and he expects to be petted in the mid-afternoons and will meow incessantly if it gets too late and the pettings have not commenced.
She's lately discovered that Theo likes playing in the snow, perhaps due to being born and raised in Eveningstar.
