Hello, I noticed that there was a gold exchange building in Isinhold. Upon entering I thought I could deposit my 200 and found that I didn't have enough gold to transfer. So I went to a safe and dropped five gold into one. I then went to another safe, thinking that scripts unique to my character would allow me to pick up my five gold, and it wasn't there though it was in the original. Obviously, I don't know how to operate the banking system. Can someone please teach me how to store gold and items?

there is no way to store gold or items- only banking. You have to either deposit 5,000 or 20,000. You can do it no other way.

The banker only exchanges in sums of 5000 - trading your gold for a bank note worth this amt...or you could exchange 20,000 coins for a gold bar.
The safes in the banker's area are not gold/item storage ~ if you try to "deposit" your items and gold in those safes it is available to everyone and anyone to "withdraw" until the next scripted cleansweep of the building is done and then said items/gold will be lost forever.
So....keep it on yer person or bank it in sums of five thousand. Ideas are being developed for a persistant storage system, but this is not something that is in effect at this time.

When I played on the Layonora Online Server they had a really good banking system, though you should have been able to store more items. Maybe the DM's should use that as a model. On a side note I have been enjoying FRC far better than I ever enjoyed Layonora, I can't explain why though.
