One night at the Obscene Ogre, a masked and robed man enters, posting a notice for all who pass through to see before leaving just as swiftly. The notice reads as follows:
//For OOC level ranges, levels 8-14 would be most appropriate, though exceptions can and will be dictated by RP
Seeking a skilled professional for regular, lucrative work in scouring sites of arcane significance and prospective wealth. The end goal is to acquire research funding, rare and valuable spell components, scripture and items of an arcane nature, as well as lost lore of significance to said research.
The work includes (but is not limited to) the following:
- Exhuming graves and burial sites in search of the aforementioned materials
- Scouring camps of known organized thieves and raiders for whom the law cares not
- Unearthing ruins and forgotten vaults of varying, indeterminate origin
The following qualifications will be expected of any applicant for the position:
- The knowledge and expertise required to bypass sealed vaults and locking mechanisms of varying, albeit typically mundane origin
- Experience with neutralizing mechanical devices meant to keep trespassers out and punish those who do not
- The ability to defend oneself by optional means against threats both physical and unnatural or otherwise neutralize those who bar the path to what is sought
- A willingness to follow orders without complaint or question, to the benefit of the appointed task, and the ability to adhere to a signed contract
- A tolerance of dead things; the overly squeamish need not apply
- A willingness to perform the potentially extensive manual labor involving unearthing graves and tombs
- A willingness to disregard the letter of the law if deemed necessary for the task at hand
- A willingness and the ability to travel, often by foot, through difficult terrain or otherwise lengthy distances
- The ability to gather information pertaining to potential sites of significance to said work and appraise this information is encouraged but not required
While applicants are sought for a regular, long-term position, the unpredictable nature of the work itself demands that the exact terms concerning risks and subsequent compensation be decided on a case by case basis. The nature of the work, however, is such that substantial financial gain is all but guaranteed, which will be split according to the terms of the contract from goods salvaged during each expedition.
Address missive to K.L. and sign a name within to which I may address a reply. As long as applicants deem themselves capable of meeting the above qualifications, any other information provided in said missive is secondary and fully optional. Applicants will be evaluated upon initial meeting where the terms of the contract are discussed, in addition to performing a task in which they will be given the chance to prove that the requirements for the position are met to the employer's satisfaction.
