The Alizarin Academy is found in Marsember, and has stood as a center of lore and learning for many years.
Catering to classes for students as young as 8 through to 18, graduated fellows often stay on at the school to pursue their academic interests or become teaches themselves. In its history the Alizarin Academy has been home to many adventurers, some famous, some infamous. A neutral ground to matters of politics and religion, the school is known for it's motto: Never stop learning.
Though many have come and gone over the years the famed "Darkharp" remains headmaster and under his guiding hand the school has maintained a steady student body, housing not only those that apply for the school, but also taking in many Cormyrian orphans.
While the school is known to teach basic reading and writing, arithmetic, language, and other basics, what most older applicants become interested in are the classes based on Arcana, Lore, and the Bardic Arts. Known to host Masters of Wizardry, Sorcery, and all manner of Bardic Talent, the school regularly provides a welcoming environment for anyone that wishes instruction on matters common and esoteric alike. The schools attendance of staff and student is approximately over 100 strong.
Besides the regular teachers of various studies, and an established staff of scholars, librarians, and caretakers, Alizarin has a staff of Masters that oversee the majority of the schools affairs:
Presently known Masters are:
- Alyster Darkharp, Lord Master; Bardic Arts and Lore, Music Theory and Writing.
- Alathyl Avhoste, Mistress of Wizardry: Arcane Ats, practice and lore.
- Card, Master of Sorcery: Planar Studies, Philosphy
- Mirrir Tharasvin, Overmistress, Administrator: Bardic and Bloodline Studies, Economics.
- Vennis Haler, Master of Bardic Arts: Bardic studies, Music Studies.
Many adventurers join the academy in hopes to expand their knowledge and capabilities, but there are a number that do so with an interest in an academic career, and a number have become teachers at the school as well.
// As a side note, this is a player group, not a guild, thus becoming an academic at the academy does not restrict an individual from joining a guild as they please.
