Always unhappy in school, he tried to find ways of avoiding class as much as possible by spending time watching warriors fight at the local arena. He had always admired their strength and some of the fighters he had befriended would give him some lessons in defending himself.
It was until one day, a male student from his class started to hurt him real bad with a harmful spell that made Jedote be pushed over the edge. In retaliation, Jedote punched the male real hard that knocked him unconscious whilst bleeding to death. At the point, everyone in his classroom gathered around the two watching the incident. Jedote started to panic and cry as he tried to revive the male student shouting for a healer. He then started praying to Mystra for aid and she responded making his hands glow blue which healed and brought the student to consciousness. Everyone was astonished.
His parents were notified and they, and his teachers at the school discussed the incident and his future. It was recommended that Jedote recieve training with the Mystran Clergy.
He was sent to a Mosque and there the clerics taught him the ways of Mystra and through faith and practice the power of his magic grew.
Now, Jedote travels to Cormyr by airship leaving his homeland seeking adventure and wander the lands to further do the work and promotion of his faith.
Motivations/Goals:
- Jedote was taught the old ways of the Mystran faith. He travels to Cormyr to see how others of the faith outside his country worship the goddess.
- Jedote wants to explore and promote his faith in a land full of magic even though there are strangely no known temples built to Mystra.
Dogma(Mystra-LN): Choice, decision, and knowledge were the hallmarks of the Mystran faith. Magic was great power and it brought with it great responsibility. Jedote's Clergy were given the following charge upon aspiring to the faith:
Love magic for itself, not just as a ready weapon to reshape the Realms to your will. Play with magic and learn how best to wield it, but remember always that magic is an Art, the Gift of the Lady, and that those who can wield it are priveleged in the extreme. Conduct yourself with dignity and with forethought while being mindful of this.
Seek always both to learn new magic and to create new magic, but experimenting to learn to craft something oneself is better than merely buying scrolls or hiring tutors. Exult more in creation than in hurling spells, and ensure that your creations are shared with others and so outlive you. Those serve the Lady best and are most favored in her eyes will serve her beyond death as beings who have become one with magic and live on it forever.
