Right now I'm looking forward to this movie. I have no idea if it's a good one or not, but the esthetics alone in the trailer (visual and sound) make me want to see it:

BTW! It was filmed on the northern parts of my province. Yeah...it's cold as balls here

If you feel like everything right now is either too serious or too Christmassy. Here's the movie for you

Saw Star Wars with my daughter today. A couple of minor nitpicks, but I thought they really nailed it. Great return for the franchise.

So it's been a little bit since Star Wars was released. No spoilers yet please here guys but I just want to know who has scene it? I've gone a few times (I won't tell how many because it's slightly ridiculous but I have an 'in' with one of our local theaters). I'm just wondering if folks liked it or not?

I enjoyed it overall, had a lot of fun watching it and trying to figure out what was going to happen. I avoided all the spoilers before going in and I was glad I did.
I have some nitpicks and would have preferred to see some things differently, but it was fun and exciting. That said it didn't rocket to the top of my favorite Star Wars Movie list.

I've seen it 12th of December. I liked it. I have some gropes with it too, but overall it was a great movie and gives me hope about the thrilogy. I can't wait to see the 8th episode. Buuut, just so you know, there's going to be another Star Wars movie next December. I saw the Marsian today, for the 2nd time. And I just realised why I love the movie.

As I told my brother, cinematically it's a decent movie. It has some absolutely beautiful scenes. As a huge nerd when it comes to Star Wars, I had sooooo much to nitpick and say 'they could have...' about.

So I'm a week or so late but I had to watch a few movies that were released on new years eve before I could make my top 10 list of 2015. This list is more my favorite movies and not necessarily the best made/written ones. Purely based on entertainment value. If you guys want I can make a list of the ones I found were the best made artsy dartsy movies of 2015....but that would take some serious re watching and consideration. 2015 was a decent year for movies and there were a few big surprises and a few MASSIVE flops. hahaha oh man. Jupiter Assending....I'm talking about you!
Anyway:
1. Mad Max: Fury Road 2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3. Inside out 4. The Martian 5. The Big Short 6. When Marnie Was There 7. Sicario 8. Hateful 8 9. The Revenant (It was nice being able to pick out the locations. It was filmed near home) 10. Creed
Honorable mentions: What We Do in the Shadows, Kingsmen, Ex-Machina, Spotlight, Shaun of the Sheep, Everest, Bridge of Spies, The Room and Straight Out of Compton.

I have succinctly summarized my main bone to pick with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I feel this audience is likely to understand how I've phrased it more than any other. Click below to see. Och, other kings said I was daft to build a Death Star in a Republic. But I built it all the same, just to show ‘em!
…it got blown up a small squadron of X-wings.
So I built a second one!!
…that got blown up a small squadron of X-wings.
Then I built a third one!
…it burned down, fell over, then got blown up by a small squadron of X-wings.
BUT THE FOURTH GALACTIC TERROR WEAPON… STAYED UP!!!

The rebels have won! So why are they still called "The rebels"? What are they rebelling against?

I just saw Annihilation. This is not an action movie. It's an exercise in base-jumping into the Uncanny Valley wearing thick iron boots and stomping as hard as you can when you land. Equipped with original, entirely new forms of body horror, which is a hard thing to accomplish these days. I am a huge fan of Creepy. I make my horror RPG session in a deliberate attempt to oogy people out. I was told this movie was like being stuck in one of my games, and I was delighted. This is not a movie for people who want the technical details of what's going on. Nobody knows what's going on. They never know what's going on. It's just some Beyond Space And Time style event and they're trying to deal. The only explanation of what's going on: "Some seriously creepy crap"
