Anyone else notice how many dwarves are on now-a-days? i know when i first started playing there was Marcus the Banite dwarf, me, and Vorta i think was getting started, now, there is a hella lot of us. Better start restocking the ale houses and gettting those pointed ears covered!

Dwarves come and go, I remember a certain dwarf who thought it would be fun to rob a dragon's cave and all he took along as back up was a gnome. If I remember right the dwarf walked right up to the dragon to see if the dragon could see him and promptly was eaten... I think... cause I was triple hasted and running for my life... now gnomes.. now thats a real treat to see nowadays.. found out a gnome gets a +1 to hit lizards.. like dragons.. woo hoo... now I only need a 34 instead of a 35 on a d20 to hit one! oh....
seriously though... I'm surprised there aren't more dwarves.. they can wield everything a human can.. and get the dodge bonuses vs large creatures.. giving them an effective +4 to there ac against half of FRC's monster population. plus and +2 con... thats worth giving up that extra feat that a human gets... so why be a human over a dwarf? the only real reason I can see is perhaps for the unrestricted multiclassing... and the best part of being a dwarf .. and this is a secret so don't tell anyone... when a dm sees 3 dwarves drinking in a pub together.. its like a sure fire guarantee that theres gonna be trouble.. oh it may start off well.. drinking and singing.. and boasting.. and pinching lass's *ss's, but then theres always running, then screaming, and the obligatory balrog busts down the front door. yeah the good stuff in life! sigh... dwarves rule... I loved my old dwarf... what a twisted perversion of reality he was, he was a dwarf with social skills and a cha of 14! I encourage anyone considering making a new character to try a dwarf.. you still get the tank you want to make.. but you get all the fun drinking games too!

Oh i remember my favorite dwarf of all time. he wielded a halbred and gold armor. Can't remember his name. Something like luthor. That was the best dwarf ever.

The real conversation is in my signature of why two mid level guys would go and try to see a dragon. And for everyone out there, Guldar did win the bet, dwarves are far more perfered by dragons 3 to one. If anyone would like to take the blinded draconic taste challenge...just let me know.

I'm starting to think Guldar and Meri have an ancestor in common. Somewhere way back there was a kender ho in the blood line.

I started my dwarf Fenrak after one of the characters that Laurk made in his DM'd campaign that me and some of the guys play. He was the inspiration behind Talus and I making a pair of clansmen that kick rocks!
It is a hell of a lot of fun playing a dwarf, especially one as freaking disgusting as mine. he is really one sick little puppy, but it is great, and good to see a few more around. I cant wait until all te dwarves get together and kick the crap outta all the half orcs in town. well Fenrak has tried more than a few times, but half orcs got more stink than sense ya know?

That Dwarf in the gold armor was Luthor Granitegrip. He decided to play a Dwarf due to my awesome character I never play anymore becuase I'm too busy with chatroom RP'ing, Fafnr Mithralwhip, priest of _____.
....of course, no one outside of his Guild knows who he is. *cough* He's been around forever.
I also played a stinky little Battlerager, about a year and a half ago, when I first joined the server. Good ol' Griv Spikewrash... I'm too lazy to play a melee character, though.

I'm happy playing two dwarves... though as it stands now... I think my second dwarf might quickly over power my first. Poor Vorta, he's never going to get to be an actual weapon master. That dying really bites...

Me and one of my friends talked about creating a group of dwarven bards once. Anyone interested in that idea?
I was thinking they mainly play rock 'n roll and heavy metal ;D

Me and one of my friends talked about creating a group of dwarven bards once. Anyone interested in that idea? I was thinking they mainly play rock 'n roll and heavy metal ;D With the music then do you think heavy metal would catch on? especialy when amps were not around, Folk, reggae, folk rock, bluegrass would have been a much much more common music style then. Screaming dwarves i'm sure would only make the public think of them as mean drunks but also harrid bards ;D lol oh almost forgot, i'm sure the folk jam bands would be popular to among humans and elves and the hin. ;D add a bit more surprise when the music has no planned path but it's played well making it fun to listen to. I'm still waiting to see faerun in 1960 XD lol We can listen to "Grateful Spider" or the "Hin Brothers" oh oh! mabey "Rothe Springfeild"! lol dont mind me I have an odd mind, Drow playing an Acid Rock/Psycadelic Rock infusion of BLuegrass, folk rock, and country actuly would make me laugh ;D It's now Faerun 1970's Drow Hard Rock/ Punk! "Lolth's Kiss"! woohoo! www.wizards.com/d20modern/images/ua_gallery/50003.jpg

dwarves are more guttaral singers i think...we would lean more towards punk in this day and age...but to me dwarves are like the Irish, lots of funny drinking songs, lots of marching songs and lots of hooting and hollering.

I always pictured the dwarves with an interest in opra like music sung in deep low notes, mabey some bluegrass music. I doubt dwarves with go tatoo eye peircing electric guitar playing. Besides would be kind of hard to sing punk with a lute and harp no? ;D

Actually, I'm pretty sure the only requirement to playing punk is that you can't play an instrument. I don't think it matters which instrument you can't play

I guess, being so used to having Punk appear around the 70's in RL puts it in a mindset of Electric guitar, not many would be used to hearing Punk on a Harp, Lute, Yarting, or flute. Dwarvern bluegrass Irish folk jig
