Open Letter to the Thayan Enclave

As per the Peace Accord signed by the Steel Regent of Cormyr and the Tharchions of Thay at the conclusion of the Bloodstil Rebellion, Thay has agreed to respect Cormyrian Law upon Cormyrian Soil.

It has come to Our attention that persons claiming to represent Thay, and using the Thayan Enclave South of The Bridge Of Fallen Men as refuge, have engaged in the capture of persons for purposes of rendering into slavery, and in the postings of bounties upon persons within Cormyr. These acts stand in direct violation of Cormyrian Law, and under the Peace Accord, Thay has agreed to render such persons to the Lawful Authority of Cormyr for prosecution.

Should Thay or the Enclave of the Western Reaches desire to support such persons it will result in the removal of the Thayan Enclave from Cormyrian Soil, and a renouncement of the Peace Accord. Cormyr has always held Thayans in respect due to their generally lawful conduct on Cormyrian soil, and we anticipate this lawful conduct is the norm, with the above grievances the acts of renegades who are enemies of both Cormyr and Thay. Cormyr anticipates further cooperation and continued commerce with the Thayan Enclave of the Western Reaches.

However, Cormyr will not tolerate the willful breaking of Cormyrian Laws, nor the use of the Thayan Enclave as a refuge for such lawbreakers.

To her highness Princess Alusair, the Steel Regent.

It has come to our attention that your highness is under the impression that the Thayan enclave, at the western Reaches is unwilling to uphold the standing peace accord.

Foremost let it be known, that we as a nation of lawful merchants have no intention of breaking such agreements.

Nor have we any interest in hiding people charged of crimes against Cormyr or its people.

As I have stated in an open letter to the council of Greatguant, we at the Enclave are more then willing to turn over any criminal hiding on Thayan soil to the proper authorities if a formal arrest order is presented before the me and the Red Council or the high Khazark herself.

It may also be known that we have received no information of any kind about who these wanted criminals are, and we are therefore unable to react on the matter before we received further valid information’s.

If we are housing people that are wanted by your Royal Guard, without us knowing these individuals are wanted criminals, then we have not acted against the Peace accord.
In share of good will we are however willing to expand the peace accord if her highness are willing to grand us access to all documents made by Cormyrian court, so we in the future can avoid letting wanted people in to our enclave.

Until then we will uphold our end of the peace accord and await further information from your court before we conduct any further investigation with in our Enclave.

In regards to the posting of bounties it has also come to my attention that my name has been used in such posters, these where made by my apprentice and he will be punished accordingly for his actions, that have lead to this misunderstanding between our honourable nations.

And for these actions you have my personal apologies and insurance that such will not happen again as long as I’m head of the red council.

In regard to your kind reminding of the peace accord.
Thay hereby bring the formal arrest order for a Thayan citizen, currently hiding himself within the nation of Cormyr.

The nation of Thay herby seek the accused, turned over to the authorities, at the Thayan Enclave where he will await trail before her High Khazark and the Red Council.

Any attempt to conceal this criminal, preventing a trail of justice on under Thayan law will be seen as a great disrespect to our nation and it’s High Zulkir Szass Tam.
