This post is directed to all the dm staff and builders:
So I have been taking alot of programming at shcool and I now have this question stuck in my head for all you dm builders and scripters on this project.
HOW DO YOU KEEP FROM HANGING YOURSELF WHEN YOUR STUFF DOESN'T WORK!?
I mean honestly marklar and jorban can verify this when i am working on some of my assignments which are on a MUCH smaller scale then anything you guys are doing I will spend hours upon hours on one little bug and when I don't get it I get freakin mad and punch my desk and swear and throw my hat at my window lol.
I also have been noticing alot of posts saying dms don't do this dms don't do that blah blah blah. I honestly don't know why you guys keep what doing what you are doing. If i read a post like that i would probably just say *bleep* this!
Basically this very badly written rant has been created because of the increasing number of negative posts i have been reading while on the forums. So I just wanted to say to all the dms and builders. You are doing an awesome job on a massive project and I love you all for it! lol.
P.S I know there have been posts like this made before but I am sure it wouldn't hurt to reinforce our encourgement to our awesome dm staff.

Thank you, and to answer your questions..we like doing what were doing.
as far as programming concerns it can be very frustrating, some languages more then others. I hate COBOL with a passion, searching around forever looking for one missing period...gaarrh.
But you just gotta keep calm and just take one line of code at a time, and when in doubt get online and see if you can find an answer or one of those chat rooms or something.
thanks for the compliments again.

Indeed thank you! You know, for every negative comment we get I know there are 1000's positive comments that run through the heads of our players while they are in game and that makes it all worth while. As Usurper said we like what we do, heck, I love what I do for FRC or I wouldn't do it. We especially like it when players enjoy their experience on FRC... that's what it's all about, and is the ultimate compliment. Hang in there in your studies. While they seem like a massive mountain atm, remember it will get better everyday. Especially when you get out of school. Cheers!

I suppose....a little positive feedback never hurt nobody. Many do not openly praise the staff or the DM's because we don't want to come off as "Yes Men" I believe because that is not the case and with many of us and for my part I don't want anyone to misinterpret what I say. If I hand out a compliment it is because I mean it. Not any ulterior motive involved except to hope that maybe I made them smile for doing a job well done, or even just for listening even if the answer in no. ;D However, we players can be hard on our DM's maybe because each of us that really stick around feel like a tiny piece of this world we effect. Most of us want FRC to only continue to succeed as best as possible. Rants, constructive criticism, suggestions, positive reinforcement, and negative comments all come together to help form something we can enjoy we at least hope. Negative hardly ever helps really but if most of what people have to say leave the negativity out, it is innocent enough. Out of a love for the game and the hope that they can help even in a small way make FRC better. Some of us are bit more passionate then others or some of us use the well if you don't change this to this way then it will probably just suck approach which is the wrong way to argue no matter who is using the tactic. Luckily few of us use or make personal attacks on others to get our points across at least not on purpose. Somebody does something right because I have been on this server over a year now and I have adult A.D.D. we can't usually stay interested in anything past breakfast. I have 50 Xbox games and how many do I still play regular? Zero, Probably 20 computer games how many have I played past a month? One, Never Winter Nights and not because it's a good game. I have played many good games and this one is good but honestly it would take a seat on a shelf getting dusty too had it not been for a little place called FRC where the players and the staff especially that make it a fun place to relax. So Thank you to the players that work hard to make it fun for everyone not just the regulars but a big special Thanks to DM's, staff, and builders out there that make all of it happen. You all truly rock perhaps more then most of us let on including me. Keep up the great work! No matter how hard of a time I give ya I appreciate what you do truly. Thanks! Let the dice fall where they may P.S. Anyone makes me open up the book of truth and thank yous again and I start getting soft I got a Finger of death for you! [EDIT] P.S.S. some more...I just noticed I have broke 20 posts two posts ago! Celebration YAY! I MUST be thawing. *Accepts his academy award for best performance in the brown nosing category* *sniffs* Thank you...I would like to thank the writers and produc....ok I will shut up now ;D

whoa! *his mind is totally blown *there are other games out there besides NWN!?!?!...were!? lol but seriously this server is *bleep*ing wicked cool and even more fun! and whenever there's a problem, the DM's jump right on it and tackle it's ass to the ground and beat it into submission! and I love them for that. As for the programing...it has to be a passion lol it's meant to tick you off, but when it works...oh boy...the joyous feeling of victory is so sweet you can taste it!
