i remember a long time ago seeing something about the RDD class needing an application, however i can not seem to find this information. It is currently not listed in the rules as a Prestige Class that requires one, but i also don't want to assume that the class doesn't require an application on the grounds that it is an oversight.
so my question is:
What is the official ruling on the RDD class application process?
Thanks for your time.

RDD does not require an application.
Please note that the only dragon types available are red, gold, and brass. A character who takes the RDD class was not born a half-dragon but through work and dedication has awakened a thin draconic inheritance in his or her own blood.
There are several other threads in the DM Q&A that may answer more questions about the PRC. If you sort by Subject, look under DM Q&A: Class: Dragon Disciple (I went ahead and bumped the ones I could find.)

Hm, I had thought it was decreed that all fire based dragons were viable? The extent of which would only be Obsidian and Hellfire wyrm...There's a peusdo weirdo dragon thats sonic/fire but I doubt it'd be allowed (cant even have its breath weapon to begin with). There were certain obsidian disciples or two walking about at one point, with me having an interest in an Obsidian blooded one given the impression that all fire types were viable now

There is a possibility of other fire-based types with consultation, but they're the exception, not the rule. So in summary, anything other than those three types, talk to a DM. If it's not fire-based, the answer is no.
