My name is Zarre Khan . . .
( ///All entries are written in Tuigan)
I am a Tuigan Horse-Archer. What more can be said? Tuigan archers are among the finest in all the lands, second only to a few Elves . . . and that is only on foot. In the saddle, even the legendary Elves cannot match us. We are the stuff of legends and tales. Unfortunately, there are not enough of us to press our legacy into immortality.
To understand me, one must first understand the Horde - the Tuigan tribes of the Hordelands, far west of Shou. It is within our culture that my spirit can be found. We are a small but proud people, and we are bold. Cowardice knows no foothold in our ways. We are a warring people . . . most recently, with the great nation of Cormyr.
It was my father's generation . . . my fathers people, that waged war on Cormyr. We fought ferociously . . . we fought bravely . . . and we were defeated. My father knew that we would be defeated before the war began. Victory was never the goal. It was the war itself that was the goal of my father and his people. Just that history would look upon the Tuigan people and see a people that were bold and brave enough to face one of the largest and most powerful countries on Toril.
I came to Cormyr with my heritage cloaked around me like a winter blanket, so it was no surprise that I was met with suspicion by so many. They do not understand our ways here. Their ways call war a means to an end . . . war is something they do to reach the goals they desire. Tuigans are different. War is the desire. It is the end that we sought. The outcome means nothing. I did not come to Cormyr with a heart of vengeance, harboring old grudges . . . I came to learn from those who defeated us. I came to learn Cormyr's art of war, and pay them for the lessons by honoring their soil with the blood of their enemies.
So we shall see if Cormyr embraces my culture and my eagerness to learn, or if old wounds will be opened once more . . .
