Some time back, I was present when someone kind of got onto another person for metagaming to a small degree when they stopped before rounding a corner and buffed up because the player could see transparent creatures that were out of the character's line of sight.
I just wanted to mention that the transparent figures that you see are a mental image of what your character can hear around that corner. If you make a character with a low Listen skill and low corresponding ability score, you will not 'hear' those creatures as early as a person with a higher Listen score does.
Just a quick note to clear this up, guys. The NWN design team made it that way for a reason ; )

Correction: if you have a low listen skill and low corresponding ability score, you will not 'hear' those creatures as early as a person with a higher listen score does, *if and only if* those creatures are in stealth mode.
Otherwise, everyone can hear them just fine.

Very true, how often can you hear things around a corner in real life? Unless people are trying to be sneaky, or are a cat or something (who are always in stealth mode I think), generally they make some sort of noise.
